    Laboratory Technician

    The KEMRI Innovation & Technology Transfer Division requires a Laboratory Technician.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring laboratory safety sample collection delivery and reception;
    • Processing documentation and reporting
    • Perform simple analytical and diagnostic work;
    • Handling and disposing laboratory waste
    • Collect, prepare and store research samples and specimen;
    • Assist in field work

    Vacancy Requirements:

    Certificate in any of the following fields: Medical Laboratory Sciences, Laboratory sciences, Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;   

    1. Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) where applicable;     Mandatory
    2. Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board where applicable;     Mandatory
    3. Proficiency in computer applications     Mandatory
    4. Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.     Added Advantage

    Performance Management, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

    Job Description

    The Directorate of Strategy and Compliance requires Performance Management, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer KMR 6. This is the entry and training grade in this cadre. An officer at this level will work under guidance and supervision of a senior officer.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assisting in drafting monitoring and evaluation frameworks and plans
    • Assist in developing regular Monitoring and Evaluation reports
    • Assist in developing operational research tools and data analysis
    • Collect and populate data into Monitoring and Evaluation data base and facilitate retrieval
    • Assisting in Writing and submitting reports on specific assignments;
    • Assisting in evaluating implementation of performance contract and compile reports
    • Monitor and evaluate implementation of strategic plan and Annual Work Plans;

    Planning and Strategy Officer

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • In-charge of all the function and activities in the kitchen
    • Ensuring that standards recipes and procedures are followed in food production
    • Responsible for adhering to Public Health regulations on cooking;
    • Keeping records of food stuff and catering equipment, materials and supplies;
    • Carrying out regular/routine checks to determine the functionality of the catering equipment
    • Assist in care and maintenance of work service area, supplies and equipment

    Description.   

    • 1-year Certificate in Food and Beverage production and Service from a recognized institution     Mandatory
    • 2-3 years Certificate in any of the following disciplines; Institutional Management; Basic Cookery, Catering institution; Hospitality Management; Technology in Hotel management Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized;     Mandatory

    Laundry Machine Operator/ Housekeeper Attendant

    • Cleaning of the Laundry room;

    • Inspecting and sorting linen before washing;
    • Washing the linen;
    • Ironing and arranging linen;
    • Carrying out regular/routine checks to determine the functionality of the laundry machines;
