    Database Administrator (DBA)

    Description

    The key objective of the team is to ensure that all critical databases are available and performing optimally at all times. It is also to maintain the integrity of the database and protect it from unauthorized access. The bank should also be able to work from an alternative location in the event of a disaster at the production site by either activating the DR site or restoring from backups.

    Functions and Responsibilities

    •  Carryout Database Capacity planning, Review complex SQL codes and provide guidance during deployment of new applications.
    •  Interface effectively with all areas of IT systems and Infrastructure/Application teams, in order to provide appropriate support and maintenance for the database deployments.
    • Put measures in place to ensure integrity of the database is not compromised
    •  Provide support and guidance for other departments on database related issues.
    •  Design and implement database backup policies and procedures
    • Monitor database sizes against capacity plan and ensure regular health check of database infrastructure as well as per formance tuning to ensure continuous availability and optimal performance.
    •  Ensure all databases operate in compliance with the bank’s security and access policies.
    •  Respond to internal and external audit queries and ensure remediation of observed vulnerabilities and nonconformities.
    •  Facilitate root cause analysis on database issues.
    • Perform benchmarking analysis to properly size hardware platforms, and maintain technical documentation relating to database management functions.

    Requirements

    • A good first degree in comptuer science/ I.T with sound proficiency in database management. Relevant Master’s degree will be an advantage
    • Professional Membership IT certification and other professional qualification will be an added advantage
    • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Good knowledge and proficiency of Oracle Database
    • Good knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server database
    • Ability to use Oracle data dictionary
    • Ability to review and interpret log files, AWR and other diagnostic reports to resolve performance challenges
    • Good knowledge of UNIX/Linus and other relevant operating systems
    • Good security knowledge
    • Ability to research, resolve and document unknown problems.

    Head of Retail & SME Sales - Access Bank Kenya

    DESCRIPTION

    Develop and implement Bank’s Retail & SME sales strategy to achieve market share, revenue and balance sheet growth, as well as exemplary customer satisfaction

    The key responsibilities are:

    • Formulation and review of strategies for Retail & SME sales for the short, medium and long term in line with Access Bank’s plan.
    • Development and overall management of targets for Retail & SME sales bank wide by products, zones and branches.
    • Definition of marketing and sales strategies.
    • Development of Retail & SME Products and Services.
    • Management and maintenance of existing customer relationships and development of new customer relationships in conjunction with Wholesale Banking, Digital Banking and Treasury.
    • Development and overall management of the business plans, scope and activity size (including locations) of teams to ensure that appropriate strategies are undertaken to achieve targets set for the unit.
    • Monitoring and reporting on Retail & SME sales Performance of all Retail & SME products offerings
    • Development and execution of a customer management framework including customer insight driven marketing

    REQUIREMENTS

    A degree in business or equivalent field. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage

    Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a bank with at least 5 years’ experience in Retail & SME banking sales

    Relationship Manager Corporate Banking

    Description

    To give leadership and direction required to ensure that customer relationships are developed and maintained by providing excellent financial products and services that add value to the customer while minimizing costs and risk to the bank

    Functions & Responsibilities;

    • Draw up work schedules for identifying and marketing prospective customers
    • Maintain good public relations with current and prospective customers
    • Plan and report on Marketing calls for the unit
    • Structure credit facilities to address customers’ needs and prepare/review credit proposals with the Group Head
    • Monitor and ensure customers’ compliance with credit agreements
    • Present to and defend proposals before the Credit Committee
    • Negotiate foreign exchange and credit rates with customers within limits set by the bank to ensure maximum profitability to the bank
    • Monitor the unit’s performance against monthly/quarterly/annual plans
    • Prepare the Team’s annual budget for consolidation and incorporation into the Group budget by the Group Head
    • Prepare and present the Unit’s Monthly Profitability Report (MPR) to the Group
    • Achieve self PCE and annual performance targets
    • Prepare periodic reports for Head of Corporate Banking
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Head Corporate Banking
