    Commercial Manager

    POSITION RESPONSIBLE TO:

    Managing Director

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate the overall development of the organization’s strategic, business development, annual operating plans and the budgeting process.
    • Develop and review financial and accounting policies and procedures of the company
    • Support the business by providing sound advice on financial matters, ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, and maintenance of adequate financial records and statements.
    • Analyze the viability of new business ventures and services for the company
    • Coordinate the preparation of budgets and ensure their implementation and controls as per approved levels
    • Prepare timely and accurate periodic reports as agreed and distribute to users appropriately
    • Ensure that the policies on fixed assets are followed, carry out reconciliation and prepare reports as and when required
    • Ensure achievement of set financial goals and objectives of the company
    • Ensure that the reconciliation of all accounts is carried out as per approved policy
    • Disseminate professional accounting standards, guidelines and information.
    • Ensure adherence to the company’s policies and procedures and compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
    • Keep the management and the Board adequately informed on financial performance of the organization.
    • Ensure effective financial management, timely reporting, cash flow projections, and preparation of periodic and annual final reports and accounts.
    • Manage annual audit, liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
    • Maintain adequate systems of internal control.
    • Manage the process of disposing off obsolete equipments and machinery in a profitable manner to the company.
    • Ensure that adequate systems exist for risk management.
    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and audit requirements.
    • Ensure that the organization’s premises, office equipment and office furniture, infrastructure and other identifiable resources are well maintained and effectively manage the procurement process.
    • Supervise and appraise staff under them, identifying their training and other development needs.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bcom or relevant business academic degree
    • Posses a CPA K (Kenya) or equivalent qualification.
    • Over five (5) years relevant experience working in a commercial organization with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a senior management positions
    • Advanced training in general governance, leadership and management
    • Training in financial management, planning, monitoring and evaluation
    • Registration with ICPAK or relevant professional body Ability to pay attention to detail and report accurately.
    • Proven skills in accounting and auditing.
    • Good appreciation of computerized accounting packages (accounting software).
    • Strong interpersonal skills, Self driven individual who is diligent, honest, disciplined and responsible
    • Demonstrate good leadership and strong management skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • Compliance with Chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya 2010 submit clearance certificate from:
      • Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC);
      • Higher Commission Loan Board(HELB);
      • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB);
      • Criminal Investigation Department(CID);
      • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

    TERMS OF SERVICE:

    The successful candidate will be offered a 3- year renewable contract based on satisfactory performance.

    Technical Manager

     Job Description

    POSITION RESPONSIBLE TO:

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and review production strategies and plans and establishment of performance standards
    • Manage the training process of staff in production section on policies, procedures and systems.
    • Identify production capacity and market demand and formulate appropriate counter measures to improve the performance
    • Monitor the implementation of production plans and propose ideas that are geared towards improving the service quality and delivery through efficient and effective systems.
    • Plan for purchase and acquisition of new equipment, facilities and other infrastructure required for production operations
    • Direct, coordinate, control and manage the company’s operations
    • Manage the repairs, maintenance and service of equipments, machinery and infrastructure to achieve optimal operation levels as per the service agreements.
    • Develop customer service delivery and satisfaction strategies that focus on provision of services by initiating, formulating, and maintaining good working relationship with customers and other partners
    • Organize project design, implementation and effective management including major and minor construction works, either by using external consultant or in-house resources
    • Identify and disposal of obsolete equipments and machinery in a profitable manner to the company.
    • Develop long-term departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate achievement of overall trust objectives
    • Supervise, manage and appraise staff under them and  identify their training and development needs
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent
    • Post graduate diploma in Business Management/ Diploma in Water Engineering
    • Over five (5) years relevant experience working in a commercial organization with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a senior management positions
    • Registration by EBK or relevant professional body.
    • Good appreciation of ICT systems.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Must be a team player and have ability to work under pressure without supervision.
    • Must be self motivated and detail oriented.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems
    • Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written).
    • Strong leadership and management skills.

    Human Resource Officer

    POSITION RESPONSIBLE TO:

     

    Human Resource and  Administration Manager
     
    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure that all employment practices, compensation, employee benefits, and human resources programs are within established standards, procedures, guidelines, and policies of the company and local labour laws.
    • Facilitate periodic review and update of Human Resources policies and procedures in line with changes in the regulatory and labour environment.
    • Coordinate the performance management process to ensure that it is effective and linked to the staff development programmes.
    • Coordinate staff training and development programmes. This includes training needs analysis, evaluation of training, feedback to management, and coordination of special programmes.
    • Coordinate the human resources planning process for the company and facilitate the staff recruitment and selection process.
    • Manage the process of staff appointments, which includes issuance, renewal and termination of contracts.
    • Ensure that NIWASCO maintains a compensation and benefits package that is equitable and competitive within the ministry’s philosophy on compensation and ability to pay.
    • Provide administrative support, which includes maintenance of personnel records, payroll administration, processing of staff benefits and management of retirement benefits scheme.
    • 9.    Ensure that NIWASCO maintains good employee and industrial relations through well managed staff welfare schemes, a healthy and safe working environment, effective management of disciplinary and grievance issues, and effective communication processes.
    •  Coordinate employee related legal issues and advise management on appropriate course of action.
    • Coordinate work related counselling and stress management services for staff.
    • Maintain contact with the labour industry, other organizations and government departments to keep abreast and updated on developments that are relevant to the human resources process.
    • Prepare and control of Human Resource budgets.
    • Ensure effective management of telephone communication equipment
    • Ensure effective control of consumable materials as per approved procedures
    • Ensure provision of quality office services
    • Ensure effective maintenance and cleaning of offices premises and maintenance of building to the required standards
    • Ensure security and safety of office equipment/assets
    • Ensure effective and efficient transport system and proper management of the vehicles.
    • Attend to general correspondence in the office
    • Perform any other duties & responsibilities that may be assigned by the management.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Diploma in Human Resource Management/Certified Human Resource Professional II (CHRP)/Higher diploma in Human Resource or equivalent.
    • Should be a member of a recognised professional body such as Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) (K).
    • Requires experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Requires a team player who is self-motivated and detail-oriented.
    • Requires problem solving orientation, good communication and negotiation skills. Must have computer aptitude and word processing skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at different levels with an organisation is essential for the job
    • Computer proficiency
    • A minimum of five (5) years work experience of which three (3) that must have been at a senior human resource management level in a busy organization.
