    Product Lead, Chipper for Business

    About The Role

    Currently, Chipper offers business accounts as well as Network API as a product for businesses and merchants to disburse and collect payments to and from individual users on the Chipper platform. We’re looking for an experienced Product Lead to discover and shape the brand new product area: Chipper for Business, expanding the portfolio of products for SMBs. You’ll be leading the team in discovering the various needs of businesses on the African continent and those in the US, UK, and other countries which transact with people in Africa. You’ll shape the product strategy and the roadmap for the group of products and lead the team of product managers, engineers, designers, and user researchers to discover and deliver value for businesses of various sizes. You’ll work proactively across the whole stack of products Chipper has for individuals and figure out the ways we can package them into business offerings. You will also leverage the Chipper platform and its power moving money inside Africa and beyond defining new products of high value for businesses.

    The ideal candidate will be joining an existing team of one product manager, a number of engineers, and designers already working on the new Network API product. Your goals would be defining the product strategy and the roadmap for the Chipper Business portfolio of products, developing and testing various business models, as well as hiring, mentoring, and coaching product managers joining the team.

    This role requires a leader who thrives in ambiguity, identifies and quickly captures opportunities, and possesses an unrelenting tenacity. The successful candidate will have strong organizational and influencing skills and use data to guide his/her decision-making.

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Responsibilities include: developing market intelligence, strategy, and the roadmap for the Chipper For Business product area
    • Expand the Chipper For Business products into new markets
    • Manage external product partners as well as internal stakeholders with clear and collaborative communication
    • Interface with operations, customer support, marketing, finance, and LRC to ensure that the desired economic and operational KPIs are met throughout the product life cycle while ensuring the product is compliant and doesn’t put the company at risk
    • Analyze customer feedback and drive continuous product improvement

    What You Should Have

    • 3+ years of experience in senior product management roles with a track record of delivering new products from scratch.
    • Experience with products for SMBs definitely is a plus.
    • Experience with other financial products is also a plus
    • The ideal candidate has previous experience working in the Fintech industry, in topics such as Cards, Payments, Investments, P2P transfers, alternative payment methods, as well as traditional banks, neobanks, or any other relevant fintech
    • You are an expert on SMBs and understand that their needs, in many cases, substantially differentiate from retail customers
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking and the ability to use data and customer insights to inform decisions and inspire new thinking
    • Enjoy working with engineers, designers, and the greater team of stakeholders to solve complex problems

    Revenue Strategy Manager

    What You Will Be Doing
    Reporting to VP of Revenues you will:

    • Define, measure, & deliver KPI-driven Revenue strategies
    • Develop a solid understanding of regional and local trends and translate those into strategic opportunities to drive our ambitious growth objectives
    • Develop alignment and collaboration with leadership & other key stakeholders on how to prioritize countries and product launches
    • Translate market feedback into product requirements, and collect market intelligence to help guide the overall direction of our commercial and revenue strategy
    • Analyze performance data and provide data-driven insights to improve the performance of our commercial programs
    • Partner cross functionally to define the future state of our business, creating a Customer and Product-Centric Revenue Strategy
    • Interpret TAM models and customer insight to identify high growth market opportunities to target
    • Support local markets and product teams in evaluate our partnership commercials, developing scalable approaches
    • Provide analytical and strategic thought leadership to our expansion teams, using data and insight
       

    What You Should Have

    • 6+ years in sectors that rely on high volume transactions, in a strategy and commercial role and e.g. Fintech, Betting & Gaming, Online Travel, Marketplaces, Online Trading/FX etc. Experience in management consulting/Investment banking useful but not required
    • Proven experience in developing and executing Revenue strategies
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
    • Strong commercial acumen, strategy, planning, organizational skills
    • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management
    • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, being comfortable with pulling reports, diving deep into the data and analyzing trends.
    • Advanced level of data analysis and manipulation using MS Excel, SQL and / or Python.
    • Proactive attitude with excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills

    • Lead consumer insights for the global marketing team, becoming the ‘expert’ on consumer desires and behaviors in all our core markets (both African and Western)
    • Engage stakeholders (primarily marketing and strategy teams) to understand their business questions and articulate research needs, and advise on the trade-off between precision, scope, time, and cost
    • Translate research needs into relevant, actionable research questions and propose project execution plans
    • Conduct research (both DIY and with vendors) using both qualitative and quantitative research techniques, working within budget constraints
    • Synthesize research findings and communicate/share out relevant output to the stakeholders
    • Drive insights widely through the organization, including training and developing teams

    QA Analyst (Non-Tech)

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Perform quality assurance testing on multiple Legal, Risk, and Compliance workflows, including but not limited to:
      • Transaction Monitoring (P2P, cross-border)
      • Watchlist Screening (Sanctions, PEP, SIP, etc.)
      • Fraud (Identity Theft, Account Takeover, Marketing Schemes)
      • Anti-Bribery and Corruption
      • KYC/KYB/EDD
      • Cryptocurrency, Stocks/Fractional Shares.
    • Establish and enhance internal quality testing procedures for various Legal, Risk, and Compliance functionalities and workflows.

    What You Should Have

    • At least 3 years of professional industry experience in performing BSA/AML//Financial Crime/Compliance quality assurance testing within a financial institution.

    Senior Pricing Manager

    What You Will Be Doing

    Develop pricing strategies for:

    • Current products (transfers – forex, p2p, crypto, services – airtime, bills, and data, and investments – stocks) including:
    • Optimal product pricing and margin targets
    • Support acquisition and engagement strategies e.g. designing experiments with promotions (working with Growth and Revenue teams)
    • Drivers of pricing and other operational KPIs
    • Competitive positioning within markets, building the competitive landscape for the geographies you look after
    • New products (working with Product and Revenue teams)

    • Design playbooks for pricing strategies. Drive playbook execution to achieve key business objectives/targets. Ensure playbooks are embedded in organization
    • Collaborate with Ops team on regular monitoring and price optimization for products, developing mitigation strategies where required
    • Build strong relationships with country teams to ensure that pricing recommendations are actionable and tailored to local markets
    • Provide insights on Chipper's competitive pricing position & consumer behaviour across markets
    • Create and own reporting on pricing related KPIs
    • Input into budgeting and reporting processes

    What You Should Have

    • 5+ years’ experience in consumer pricing strategy, Go-to-market pricing strategy
    • 2+ years’ experience in market research and competitive landscape analysis
    • Fintech experience highly desirable, especially crypto products or remittances
    • Familiarity with dynamics around handling multiple currencies and their impact on pricing strategies
    • Good experience with statistical analysis and price/demand functions
    • Strong quantitative analytical skills; Skilled professional in data wrangling, database querying, modelling and use of cloud based platforms such as snowflake and sagemaker
    • Technical experience with Excel and data visualization tools
    • Comfort with fast changing environments
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills
    • Highly collaborative

    Performance Marketing Manager, Search

    What You Will Be Doing

    • Lead end-to-end paid search business strategy and campaign management process across marketing campaigns from setup to deployment to reporting, with an extreme focus on detail and flawless execution
    • Drive channel acquisitions growth through understanding the competitive landscape, optimizing existing channel performance, and identifying new messaging, targeting, or capability opportunities
    • Drive search, innovation, and trust strategies and build scalable plans to roll out across multiple countries and continents
    • Work with Country Growth Managers to ensure strong local context of ad copy and creatives
    • Lead our team’s regional search marketing strategy and coordination efforts and support country marketing partners to make search successful in their countries
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and market to shape and land complex launches
    • Maintaining sufficient knowledge of core digital marketing channels, including social media, SEO, content marketing, email marketing and programmatic to deliver omni channel consistency
    • Lead the tracking, testing, and QA of all SEM campaigns for the accuracy, functionality, and documenting as necessary to ensure flawless execution
    • Manage oversight of the SEM channel’s compliance operations; ensure that the channel acquires and maintains required targeting, creative, disclosures and modeling compliance approvals
    • Support acquisition insights function, including reporting, tracking and forecasting to help evaluate program performance, and compiling / analysing campaign results across funnel metrics and KPIs to identify opportunities for growth or improvement
    • Carry out a wide variety of associated duties that include (but are not limited to) web analytics and relevant keyword strategy & discovery.
    • Execute tests, collect and analyse data, identify trends and insights
    • Deliver insightful reporting on test results and performance of search campaigns
    • Thoroughly check search campaigns for accuracy including copy, audience selections, tracking / URLs, and offer details
    • Act as the liaison between the engineering team an marketing teams to gather all pertinent information for search campaigns

    What You Should Have

    • Proven SEM experience managing high volume PPC campaigns across search marketing platforms (Google, Yahoo, Bing Apple Search Ads)
    • Extensive experience developing, optimising, analysing, and reporting on high volume paid search campaigns
    • Strong knowledge of App acquisition is a big advantage
    • Experience with data and product analytical tools such as Branch, Amplitude, and Google Analytics
    • Familiarity with A/B and multivariate experiments. You enjoy setting up experiments and doubling down on the best results
    • Deep knowledge of account set-up including tag and event management, and auditing conversions across reporting platforms
    • An editor mindset, you constantly cut for clarity
    • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven, hyper growth global startup environment
    • Ability to be flexible with project timelines
    • Ability to interface with internal teams including Marketing, Data Intelligence, Engineering, and Product
