    Monitoring and Evaluation Officer LIFT NK

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategy Implementation
    • Provide day-to-day-management of LIFT NK monitoring and evaluation activities, digital data collection and analysis for baselines and end-lines, as well as impact evaluations for the programs.
    • Operationalize data quality management strategy at county and program level.
    • Ensure consistent utilization of the BOMA Performance Insights database for all M&E data submissions.

    Program Management

    • Contribute directly to achieving the project’s strategic objectives and components through the implementation of a single integrated/harmonized monitoring system.
    • Responsible for managing the data collection and coordination with the County team (and consultants if necessary) ensuring a high quality of data collected and the use of evidence to inform adaptive management.
    • Coordinate and supervise all enumeration activities in the field level during the surveys commissioned by the project.
    • Create and instill an M&E culture that promotes the learning and self-critical skills of program staff in the pursuit of project excellence.
    • Ensure alignment of M&E activities with program objectives and contribute to the development of annual work plans.
    • Support Program Manager, Program Coordinator, as well as other technical and program staff in the preparation of quarterly/annual activity reports and verification of reported data.
    • Coordinate and support the implementation of the main M&E phases of the Project Management Cycle (baseline survey, mid-term evaluation and final evaluation)
    • Plan and conduct Routine Data Quality Assurance (RDQA) for the reported data at County level to ensure adherence to data quality standards.
    • Participate in the planning for and review of the baseline, midterm and final evaluation SOP, data collection tools and reports.
    • Ensure that lessons learned throughout the project at County level are captured and communicated to internal and external stakeholders through appropriate channels for decision-making.

    Partner Collaboration

    • Develop the necessary relationships and partnerships with consortium partners
    • Seek the active collaboration of consortium partners in M&E as well as their appropriation of the tools, including integration of M&E in core program management functions.
    • Work closely with consortium partners to track implementation of the research agenda, develop milestones for progress and conduct the evaluation of research agenda.
    • Identify, build, and manage trusted partnerships with consortium agencies, local government and other stakeholders

    Team Management

    • Create and maintain a work environment where mutual respect among team members prevails and where the pursuit of individual and collective excellence is valued.
    • Promote individual accountability and commitment by clearly and regularly communicating expectations and providing constructive feedback.
    • Train County program team members on their M&E responsibilities and how to use the tools developed

    Organizational Learning

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or another relevant field.
    • At least 2-3 years’ experience working in an NGO setting preferably in livelihood programs.
    • Practical experience in use of data analysis and Visualization tools like STATA, SPSS, Power BI, or Tableau.
    • Formal M&E training and/or specialized skills in statistics are an advantage.
    • Experience in research and surveys - design of tools, data collection, data processing and analysis.
    • Experience cleaning large data sets.
    • Strong writing skills with experience preparing reports and technical documents.
    • Hand-on experience on use of data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI)
    • Strong organizational, communication and writing skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and adhere to project timeline
    • Excellent analytical and detail-oriented skills, with extensive experience in research, surveys, and data management.
    • Experience in the arid lands, preferably in East Africa
    • Strong computer skills and very good knowledge in use of applications such as Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint required, while working knowledge of Salesforce and Taroworks would be an advantage. Also demonstrated ability to leverage technology in social entrepreneurship.
    • Good planning and organizational capacity with demonstrable ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrated ability to multitask.

    Data Analyst- LIFT NK

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation or another relevant field. 
    • At least 2-3 years’ experience working in an NGO setting preferably in livelihood programs. 
    • Practical experience in use of data analysis and Visualization tools like STATA, SPSS, Power BI, or Tableau. 
    • Formal M&E training and/or specialized skills in statistics are an advantage. 
    • Experience in research and surveys - design of tools, data collection, data processing and analysis. 
    • At least one year of experience conducting data analysis using Stata (skills to be tested during interview). 
    • Experience cleaning large data sets. 5.8. Naturally curious and analytical; able to sort through extensive data and craft hypotheses. 
    • Strong writing skills with experience preparing reports and technical documents. 
    • Hand-on experience on use of data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI) 
    • Strong organizational, communication and writing skills. 
    • Ability to multi-task and adhere to project timeline Excellent analytical and detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in research, surveys, and data management. 
    • Experience in the arid lands, preferably in East Africa

    People Operations Officer- LIFT - NK

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER LIFT PROJECT

    HR ADMINISTRATION

    • Employee Records Maintain and update employee files; both on hard and soft copies and ensure the employee register and HRMIS is always updated.
    • Contract Management Preparation and issuance of employee confirmation letters and renewal letters
    • Support in conducting exit interviews and manage the exit process including issuing certificate of service, working closely with the People & Culture Manager.
    • Leave Management Regular updating of the leave register working closely with the Cluster Office Administrators
    • Liaise with the cluster offices and other departments in the preparation of annual leave planners.

    RECRUITMENT

    • Support the People & Culture Manager to adequately fill roles within agreed timelines as guided and ensure new joiners submit required placement documents.
    • Shortlist applications and conduct preliminary interviews and screen applicants for basic compliance as assigned.
    • Schedule interviews and follow up with Line Managers to provide feedback on each candidate then prepare the recruitment report for approval.
    • Ensure all recruitment policies, procedures and techniques are adhered to.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • Ensure timely inclusion and removal of employees in the relevant benefits schemes
    • Support the People & Culture Manager in preparation and timely submission of monthly payroll schedules.
    • Update the monthly payroll with the details of new employees, promotions and exits, while ensuring accuracy of data.
    • Ensures that all payroll changes are authorized prior to implementation

    PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

    • Support the People & Culture Manager to implement the performance management process as per performance calendar and timelines.
    • Responsible for maintaining accurate performance management records both electronically and hard copies on staff files.

    LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

    • Conduct new staff onboarding working closely with the People & Culture Manager
    • Assist in identifying training needs within LIFT Project
    • Assists in the co-ordination of skills audits & learning and development initiatives to address competency gaps and skills needed within the organization.
    • Responsible for maintaining accurate training records.

    EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND WELFARE

    • Assists the People & Culture Manager in drafting summaries of hearing proceedings.
    • Assists the People & Culture Manager in providing guidance on HR policies to line managers and employees, so as to ensure that employment conflict is effectively managed.
    • Liaise with Staff Welfare representatives across the LIFT cluster offices for the co-ordination of staff welfare initiatives across the offices.

    GENERAL

    • First point of contact support employees on a day-to-day basis and answer questions about benefits, BOMA policies etc.
    • Work with the People & Culture Manager in ensuring employees are engaged by having a good employee experience.
    • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives
    • Coordinate and participate in HR audits when called upon 4.7.5 Coordinate and complete adhoc HR projects as and when they arise.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a focus on Human Resources, Business Management or Business-Related Course Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources or CHRP will be an added advantage Member of IHRM

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    • At least Four (4) Years progressive HR Generalist Experience

    • Education Requirement – At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, Journalism or a related discipline. Minimum at least 3 years in administration experience.
    • Excellence Strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to handle deadlines and requests with multiple partners and teams;
    • Excellent interviewing and fact-checking skills; ability to capture accurate stories from the field and convert them into motivating content;
    • Experience with photography, videography, and content collection for social media distribution;

    • Can clearly and effectively articulate BOMA’s work and impact through storytelling;
    • Good interpersonal skills, willing to support all members of the team;
    • Some international and local travel is required;
    • Journalistic background preferred;
    • Location in Nairobi is a must
