    Custody Support Officer

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to Custody Officer, the support Officer will be responsible to provide quality service to clients in order to maintain high customer satisfaction, build effective networks and to protect bank’s image.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform the necessary operations for the effective settlement of all authenticated trades
    • Process all operations related to the maintenance of the customers’ custody accounts, including corporate actions, proxy voting and dividend/income collection
    • Liaise with all relevant counterparties (settlement banks/custodian banks) to implement all transactions
    • Perform reconciliation of all relevant accounts
    • Ensure timely completion of mandatory regulatory reporting
    • Follow diligently all the Bank’s operational policies and procedures
    • Attend effectively to queries from customers, sub custodian and other counterparts

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Degree in banking and finance or any related field
    • At least 2 years experience in back office task such as operations/SWIFT/Payment system
    • Previous work experience in custody will be an advantage
    • Good knowledge of general banking practices and procedures
    • Meticulous and attentive to details
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good organizational skills
    • Highly committed to customer service

    Senior Dealer-Trading

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Trading in the Financial Markets Division, the job incumbent will be responsible to trade in different asset classes including FX, Rates, Credit and Commodities in order to generate revenue for the Bank, within the limits of the risk management policy of the bank and regulatory limits as set by the Central Bank.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform proprietary trading in various different asset classes and derivatives
    • Market Maker in giving pricing to various interbank and financial institutional clients on FX Derivatives and structured products
    • Manage profit and loss of the Bank’s currency portfolio, via the use of FX spot, forward and options
    • Actively trade the interest rates in major currencies
    • Carry out product development and structuring
    • Identify and quantify risk associated with any derivatives product bank undertakes to trade
    • Use advanced technical and fundamental analysis to establish proprietary trading positions with a view to generate profits
    • Recommend ideas and design potential strategies related to trading of different asset classes
    • Provide market and trading feedback to Sales Team and clients
    • Monitor and review transactions to verify accuracy and ensure that they are in conformance with the Bank’s limits as well as Central Bank guidelines and limits
    • Manage relationships with Interbank counterparties, both local and international
    • Carry out training dealers of Financial Markets Division
    • Perform any other-related duties as may be required

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Graduate/Professional Qualification in Finance/Mathematics/Financial Markets and/or any other relevant field
    • At least 7 years of relevant experience
    • Postgraduate qualification/MBA in a relevant field will constitute a definite advantage
    • ACI Qualification will be an added advantage
    • Proven track record with relevant credit assessment abilities and use of derivatives
    • Target oriented, practical, and committed for developing the business
    • Excellent analytical, strategy & business planning skills
    • Strong leadership & people development capabilities

    Sales Dealer

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Sales in the Financial Markets Division, the job incumbent will be involved in the day-to-day sales operations and dealing with different asset classes within the Financial Markets Division.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Head of Sales in the performance of the duties of the financial Markets Division
    • Maintain client relationship by providing timely and high standard customer service
    • Increase the Bank’s market share by helping in expanding the customer base
    • Develop strong and cordial working relationship with different internal counterparties and departments with a view to provide treasury solutions to client portfolio
    • Have a good understanding different asset class and be able to propose solutions to clients’ needs
    • Provide update to clients about the local and international financial market developments
    • Carry out regular meetings with clients to develop relationship and understand their product needs
    • Provide quotes to clients and act as a single point of contact for all treasury products (Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income and others)
    • Adhere to his/her Dealing Mandate, Mauritius Code of Conduct for Foreign Exchange and money market and SBM Financial Markets Division Operating policy so as not to breach any limit or regulations
    • Ensure that all deals are dealt within dealer’s limits (market risk limits, counterparty limits, dealer’s mandate)
    • Adhere to the roles and responsibilities in relations to the daily operations as per internal policies and procedures
    • Perform any other-related duties as may be required

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Graduate/Professional Qualification in Finance and/or any other relevant field
    • At least 5 years of experience in Banking including 2 years’ experience in Financial Markets would be an advantage
    • ACI Qualification will be an added advantage
    • Good knowledge of MS Office tools
    • Knowledge of Financial Markets and investment products and understanding of the dynamics of the FX and interest Rate markets
    • Target oriented, practical, and committed for developing the business
    • Excellent analytical, strategy & Business Planning skills
    • Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal skills
    • Solution provider and proactive attitude
    • Good marketing, selling and decision-making skills
