    Principal Brand Marketing Officer

    REF KICC/PBM/2019

    The Principal Brand Marketing Officer reports to Marketing Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Editing, reviewing and providing support in design and production of marketing collateral materials
    • Preparing the logistics for business and trade shows in liaison with marketing manager
    • Coordinating stakeholders engagement forums
    • Monitor stock levels of collateral material in liaison with procurement department
    • Identify ideal corporate giveaways for the planned marketing activities
    • Contribute to the compilation to the annual marketing work plans
    • Develop and maintain client database for e-marketing and distribution of information to stakeholders
    • Prepare design briefs and ensure accurate translation of brief

    Qualifications

    • Have a minimum period of six (6) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at a level of senior marketing officer
    • Have a Bachelor degree in any of the following: marketing, tourism management, commerce (marketing option), business administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
    • Have a master’s degree from a recognized institution
    • Be a registered member of a relevant professional body
    • Have a certificate in marketing course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
    • Be proficient in computer applications
    • Fulfill the requirements of chapter six of the constitution

    Principal Corporate Communications Officer

    REF: KICC/PCM/2019

    The Principal Corporate Communications Officer reports to Corporate Communications Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Participating in the production of appropriate communication and dissemination strategies
    • Establishing and maintaining regular contact with media practitioners with a view to enhancing goodwill and positive coverage for the corporation
    • Planning and executing the corporation’s participation in key corporate events
    • Recording and developing photographic images of the corporation’s activities
    • Developing web content and updating the website in liaison with the ICT department
    • Preparing and producing reports and other publications
    • Organizing for press conference and media briefings
    • Developing corporate brand identity manual and ensuring conformity to it
    • Identifying and recommending branding and publicity opportunities for the corporation
    • Implement marketing communications campaigns
    • Manage information, copy, edit, proof read and revise communications
    • Design and launch email marketing campaigns
    • Create literature and forms of communication
    • Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic work with advertisers for timely and usable ad submissions
    • Work with the manager and business units to determine event budget and manage expenses to that budget

    • Prepare briefing materials

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience in the public service or the private sector
    • Bachelor degree in any of the following:- journalism, mass communications, public relations or other relevant social science from a recognized institution
    • Member of Public Relations Society of Kenya
    • Have a good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency in computer applications; and
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    Executive Housekeeper

    REF: KICC/EHK/2019

    The Housekeeping Manager reports to the Director Operations and is responsible for cleanliness, aesthetic of rooms, public area, room set up, decoration, back areas and surrounding at the Convention Centre and asset management.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

    • Oversee and direct the cleaning activities for the Corporation.
    • Order cleaning materials and new items are to ensure that the workers have the proper tools to perform their job duties.
    • Inform workers about the procedures and policies that have to be followed while cleaning rooms.
    • Approval of department’s expenditure.
    • Development and approval of budgets and expenses.
    • Plans the work of subordinates, monitors and evaluates their performance.
    • Responsible for physical assets assigned by the institution.
    • Ensure standards in room set up are implemented and maintained.
    • Ensure proper scheduling of the departments, keeping in mind the forecast and daily events.
    • Oversees duties of Assistant Housekeeper, Supervisors and Room Stewards.
    • Management and coordination of outsourced cleaning and landscaping service providers.
    • Ensure modern methods, techniques and materials are used to promote efficiency and effectiveness in provision of housekeeping services.

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

    • Master’s Degree in any of the following discipline: Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or any equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
    • Bachelor degree in any of the following disciplines: – Hospitality Management, Hotel Management any equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
    • A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been at the level of senior officer.
    • Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Proficiency in computer applications.
    • Demonstrated professional competence in Hotel or Housekeeping management work.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Fulfilling the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

    Responsibilities

    • Forecasting and planning on human resource needs
    • Managing the Corporation’s recruitment and selection process

    • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the staff succession plans, development, mentoring, coaching and internship programs

    • Management, maintenance and storage staff records
    • Overseeing the payroll processing and ensuring compliance to statutory obligations
    • Championing change management programs in the Corporation

    • Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations related to Health & Safety, HIV/AIDS, Alcohol and Drug Substance Abuse, Gender and Disability Mainstreaming

    Qualifications

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

    • Eight(8) years relevant work experience; three (3) years should be in management
    • Bachelor degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
    • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Be a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management;
    • Valid practicing certificate;
    • Certificate in Management Course or its equivalent lasting not less than four (4) weeks;

    Business Project Officer Revenue Streams

    The Principal Business Projects Officer (Revenue Streams) reports to Business Projects Manager.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare project proposals and develop project plan, schedule and budget
    • Ensure submission of approved business project budgets into the following financial year’s budget to necessitate project execution
    • Initiate, develop and execute partnership with other organizations to enhance the business of the organization
    • Initiate business alliances for improved service delivery
    • Brings new products to market by analysing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return on investment analysis
    • Determines customers’ needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information

    Responsibilities

    • Implement contracts for catered food and related products
    • Implement standards and regulatory compliance of food and beverage, from conception to completion.
    • Implement recommendations of market survey findings and extract opportunities
    • Onsite food and beverage implementation, inspection and wind up.
    • Implementation of post event activities
    • Implement communications in client relationships
