    National Consultant

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    • Contribute, by bringing expertise in school feeding systems at school and county level, in Drafting and revising (as required) and finalizing the Inception report that contains among others:
      • Detailed evaluation design, sampling methodology, and sample size calculations.
      • Quality Assurance Plan
      • Detailed work plan, including, timeline and activities
      • Bibliography of documents/secondary data sources utilized.
      • Final data collection tools, data bases, analysis plan
      • Data analysis plan
    • Contribute, by bringing in expertise in school feeding systems at school and county level in developing a Power-point presentation on methodology, overall survey plan, timeline and activities and support presentation of this to WFP for discussion and inputs before field work begins
    • Participate in planning for evaluation field work, ensuring data collection tools are tested and digitalized and enumerators are adequately trained
    • Conduct field work as per the evaluation work plan

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Continued)

    • Support in ensuring adequate supervision of quantitative data collection at field level
    • Do and Support data cleaning and data analysis as per the data analysis plan
    • Contribute to the final evaluation report, including a first draft, revise as required and a final report ensuring all required annexes to the final report are included in the report. The evaluation report should be accompanied by the following
      • Transcripts from key informant interviews, focus group discussions, etc.
      • Table of all standard and custom indicator Final evaluation values
      • List of supported and sampled schools
    • Contribute to the Preparation of a Power-point presentation of main findings and conclusions for de-briefing and dissemination purposes.

    Attend a debriefing session with stakeholders and support in presentation of the evaluation findings
    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: At least a master’s social sciences or Education, Statistics, measurements, nutrition
    • Experience: Senior researcher with at least 10 years’ experience in evaluations. Demonstrated expertise in managing multidisciplinary and mixed quantitative and qualitative method studies, complemented with good understanding school feeding, school systems in Kenya at school and county level, school transition
    • Knowledge & Skills: Expertise in designing evaluation methodology and data collection tools and demonstrated experience in similar evaluations. Leadership and communication skills, including a track record of excellent writing and presentation skills.
    • Languages: English.

    DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

    • Inception report with a clear methodology and timelines to execute the TOR
    • Final Evaluation report
    • Transcripts from key informant interviews, focus group discussions, etc.
    • Table of all standard and custom indicators with final values
    • List of supported and sampled schools
    • All data including final analysis

    OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Sound understanding and practice in business process documentation and generation of online content.
    • Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
    • Strong environmental scanning, analysis and interpretive skills.
    • Strong negotiating and persuasive presentation skills.
    • Proficiency and experience at working with multidisciplinary teams and cultivating strategic alliances with local and international actors.
    • Proven ability and experience in leading and facilitating validation workshop.
    • Excellent communication skills for discussing issues and extracting learnings with all manner of persons

    DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

    • Knowledge of different methodologies that can be used to develop user experiences and learnings. 
    • The consultant should be able to handle multiple tasks under pressure, work independently and have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

    Partnerships Assistant SC5 - Service Contract

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Partnerships Unit in the Regional Bureau for Eastern Africa (RBN) is looking to engage a Partnerships Assistant specifically dedicated to supporting donor relations/partnership in the region; to strengthen the Unit’s ability to manage critical resource mobilization; to carry out resource analysis and resource management functions; and to provide related support to Country Offices (COs) and WFP Headquarters (HQ) in Rome.

    STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Studies, Political Sciences or any other related field.
    • Working Experience: one to two years of progressively responsible work experience in the relative business stream, with experience in general administrative work.
    • Language: Fluency in both oral and written English. Intermediate knowledge of another UN language, Swahili, or other East African languages would be an advantage.

    REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES

    • Has conducted negotiations for contributions and partnership agreements in line with internal established policies and procedures and external regulations
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with different stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

    Under the supervision of the Government Partnerships Officer, you will:

    • Implement the work plan for an assigned area to enable WFP to identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships in support of WFP strategic objectives.
    • Proactively contribute to a partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling and outreach activities, with the aim to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work; Support partner visibility and ensure partner conditions are met.
    • Use data and information to support senior management engagement with government donors and to scope new partners, guided by programmatic assessment and context-specific analysis with the aim to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base.
    • Solicit inputs, including operational updates, from COs and other RBN units to draft quality briefs and proactively highlight strategic issues to senior staff to inform best course of action and nurture partnership growth.
    • Gather and present internal and external data/information, using key information systems (e.g. Salesforce, WINGS, WFPGo), to support WFP’s effective positioning with government donors.
    • Contribute to partnerships strategies, including the development of Partnership Action Plans; Draw up quality partner proposals and reports by engaging with other WFP entities and external stakeholders.
    • Support the regional innovation hub with data collection & analysis, knowledge management and sharing, program coordination, and periodic internal and donor reporting
    • Other as required.

    Talent Acquisition/Sourcing Expert, Consultant-I (Re-Advertisement)

    What will you do?

    • In close consultation with the Head of HR and in collaboration with other HR colleagues and unit managers, contribute to defining the people/HR management plan, specifically in relation to the talent acquisition and employer branding activities.
    • Contribute to the Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding weekly reports that update and alert stakeholders about the challenges and opportunities in these areas.
    • In close collaboration with the talent acquisition team, ensure that all vacancies announcements are sound and inspiring for the purpose of attracting best talent with a focus on gender.
    • Further streamline talent acquisition sourcing strategies and approach by using new technologies, social media, software and networks, to identify, attract, and hire the best talent.
    • Train the talent acquisition team to implement data driven and proactive talent sourcing approaches, to use contemporary talent acquisition tools & technologies and to effectively use social media platforms.
    • Identify opportunities to expand relevant talent pools by identifying macro level opportunities from demographic trends, labour market analysis, diaspora, diversity partnership opportunities etc.
    • Support developing and maintaining strong relationships that include outreach to schools, education institutions, targeted diversity organizations, professional associations and other recruiting sources to ensure sourcing produces a strong talent pipeline.
    • Improve gender diversity and drive the improvements of talent attraction and talent acquisition approaches, especially to attract qualified female candidates (with special attention on diaspora) to hardship locations.
    • Increase the quality of applicant flow, including both internal and external, passive and active candidates and ensure local implementation.
    • Articulate WFP’s employee value proposition to enhance visibility and reputation in key sourcing channels by enabling the talent acquisition team to carry out impactful and targeted employer branding activities.
    • Undertake field missions related to talent acquisition and employer branding project as necessary.
    • Any other duties in line with the profile and expertise.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or First University degree with additional relevant experience.
    • Experience: Five or more years of postgraduate professional experience in Talent Acquisition, of which at least 3 years must be at an international or regional level. Experience and expertise in sourcing and recruiting hard-to-find profiles is a must. Experience in transforming processes and leading change. 
    • Language: Proficiency in oral and written communication in English.

    Knowledge & Skills: 

    • Experience working as part of a multicultural and diverse team.
    • Deep knowledge of the recruiting market and trends in East Africa.
    • Demonstrated success developing and deploying creative, effective candidate pipeline development methodologies and effective outreach strategies.
    • Structured in leading multiple talent projects simultaneously to successful completion.
    • Experience with SAP/ Applicant Tracking Systems, technology, and sourcing tools.  
    • Ability to leverage social media to connect with diverse communities to brand and market organisation and jobs.
    • Ability to draft clear concise reports. 
    • Good communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and adapt communication style to different situations and stakeholders.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships with human resources counterparts, managers and staff within WFP.
    • Other as required.
