    Requirements for Appointment

    • Served for a cumulative period of five (5) years, there (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Senior Assistant Director of Industries, Job Group Q and above or in a relevant and comparable position in the public service or private sector.
    • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a a university recognized in Kenya and.
    • A Master’s Degree in from a relevant field recognized in Kenya

    Deputy Director Enterprise

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Guiding and supervising the implementation of government policies, strategies and programmes on domestic trade and investment
    • Co-ordinating, planning and administration of trade and investment 
    • Coordinating, planning and administration of trade and investment functions of the County 
    • Providing consultancy and technical guidance on trade issues, managing business information in the County 
    • Overseeing the development of wholesale hubs wholesale markets and tier 1 retail markets in the distribution value chain facilitating the settlement of trade disputes
    • Addressing public complaint/customer care issues and 
    • Organizing and participating in interactive trade fora.

    Requirements for Appointment

    • Must have five (5) years demonstrable and proven experience, three (3) of which must have been at Job Group CPSB 05/P or its equivalent from the public sector
    • Bachelor’s degree in any from the following disciplines: Commerce Marketing,  Business Administration, Business, Management Entrepreneurship, International Trade/Business/Relations or its equivalent from a recognized institution

    Deputy Director Strategy, Monitoring & Evaluation

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist the Director monitoring and Evaluation in the day to day of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation section;
    • Direction of Economic planning functions or production of statistical data at the County level;
    • Coordination and formulation of county development strategies, policies and programs within the department responsible for the County’s Economic Planning and in other departments’ collation and presentation of statistical data from the survey reports and bulletins;
    • Preparation of county development plans and coordination of county positions on international economic subjects;
    • Monitoring and evaluation of policies and programs;
    • Planning and management of human resources, projection of manpower needs and training to meet County development objectives, population surveys and compilation of data for planning and social services, manpower surveys and in conjunction with the department responsible for employment, undertaking labour force studies and monitoring unemployment in the county;
    • Assist in collection, collation, processing and administration of statistical data in accordance with the Statistics Act;
    • Formulating coordinated strategies, policies and programmes for the harmonious development of the economic sectors, carrying out sectoral studies and research, monitoring changes in key indicators of sectoral economic structures, trends and efficiency;
    • Perform other duties related to the field as assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must have served in the grade of Deputy Chief Economist Deputy Chief Statistician for at least three (3) years or other comparable and relevant position in economic Planning or a compilation and production of statistical data county Economic planning and public sector for at least twelve (12) years of which three (3) years must be at a Senior Economic policy Research/Planning position;
    • Must Bachelors Degree in any of the following fields: Economics or Statistics at least Masters of Arts (MA),
    • Masters of Science (Msc or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) level or their equivalent recognized qualification is an added advantage

    Assistant Director for Persons With Disabilities (Pwds)

    Requirements for Appointment: –

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Psychology, or related field.
    • A master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • At least 6 years of relevant experience with 3 years in a senior management position in public or private sector

    • Participate in the formulation, review, and implementation of social services policies, strategies, and guidelines.
    • Ensure alignment of social development programmes with national development plans and international commitment
    • Oversee planning, coordination, and evaluation of social welfare and community development programmes.
    • Supervise the implementation of programmes targeting children, youth, persons with disabilities, older persons, and marginalized groups.
    • Coordinate research on emerging social issues and prepare reports to inform decision-making.
    • Maintain and analyze social data for policy formulation and programme improvement.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to social development officers and other staff.
    • Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for stakeholders in the social services sector.
    • Initiate and strengthen collaborations with government agencies, development partners, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
    • Mobilize resources for social services programmes and ensure accountability in their utilization

    Assistant Director Library Services

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in the management and general planning, coordination of activities in all the Libraries within the County Government
    • Co-ordinate the educational and information needs of the communities served;
    • Co-ordinate collection development; stock management; advisory services

    • Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Valuation, Property Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Land Economics, Real Estate And Land Ad-ministration, Building Economics, Urban/Regional Planning, Construction Management, Economics, Estate Management, Sociology, Community Development, Statistics, Environmental Studies, Geography or equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;
    • Been registered by any of the following bodies; Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors, Engineers Registration Board, Institute of Surveyors of Kenya, Physical Planners Registration Board, Valuers Registration Board, National Environment Management Authority Board, any other relevant and recognized professional body; and
    • Demonstrated professional competence, administrative capabilities and initiative in general organization and management of the housing function.

    Director Irrigation

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinating and management of water and irrigation projects in the county.
    • Carrying out feasibility studies and research activities for various aspects of water, sewerages, and hydraulic systems.
    • Supervising the construction of water and sewerage works undertaken directly or by contract.
    • Formulating standards for irrigation and water management.
    • Interpreting and guiding the implementation of policies and programmes for irrigation and water management.

     Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Irrigation Engineering, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Hydrology & Water Resources Management, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or any other related field.

    • Master’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized institution
    • Relevant working experience in water and irrigation for a minimum of ten (10) years in the private sector or served in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service.
    • Demonstrate a high degree of administrative capability, technical and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
    • Be registered with Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) or Kenya Engineering Technology Registration Board (KETRB)
    • Strategic Leadership development course lasting not less than 6 weeks from a recognized institution
