    People Operations Assistant

    Job Description 

    • CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time People Operations Assistant to join the People Team. The People Operations Assistant is responsible for the high-volume, repeatable operational work that ensures accuracy and consistency across the employee lifecycle. You will be expected to execute contract issuance and tracking, perform onboarding and offboarding task execution, and manage benefit enrollments and removals. Additionally, this role will maintain HRIS data integrity through regular audits and serve as the primary point of contact for triaging non-ER inquiries through the People Ops helpdesk to ensure fast and reliable service delivery.  

    What you will do
    Your primary responsibilities would be:  

    • Employee lifecycle admin support - Execute specific onboarding and offboarding tasks to ensure a seamless transition for employees: 
    • Draft and distribute employee letters and fulfill various data requests 
    • Support hiring managers with implementing effective onboarding plans for new hires to standardize employee experience  
    • Manage the administrative execution of onboarding and offboarding tasks to ensure no step is missed 
    • Manage our onboarding buddy and mentorship program, including pair new hires with an onboarding buddy and a mentor based on their role and preferences 
    • Manage the Analyst & Associate Mentorship program and liaise with the Wall Street Prep team for required setups 

    Benefits Administration - 

    • Handle the technical execution of benefits enrollments and removals:
    • Support ongoing benefits administration, and ensure proper offboarding of exiting employees 
    • Handle benefits-related grievances and audits to ensure all employees are correctly enrolled 

    Immigration & Compliance support – 

    • support with data and document collection required for immigration applications 
    • Data Integrity - Perform regular HRIS updates and audits to maintain clean, reliable data, and respond to People data-related questions & requests from the team 
    • People Team Service Desk - Act as the first-line triage for the People Ops helpdesk/inbox for all non-Employee Relations inquiries 
    • People Team dashboard – manage the People team dashboard once operational to ensure it is accurate & updated at all times 
    • Office Leads support – work with the People Operations Senior Manager on Office Leads related initiatives aimed at standardising and optimising the CB experience across all our jurisdictions 
    • Wellness initiatives execution – actioning on wellness initiatives plans across the team aimed at improving Employee experience 
    • Ongoing process improvement - Support ad hoc process improvement projects and provide ongoing assistance to the People Operations Senior Manager and Chief People Officer 

    Who You Are 

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field   
    • 3+ years of experience in People Operations/Human Resources  
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment   
    • Excellent communication skills across diverse audiences & strong stakeholder management  
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills  
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills  
    • Ability to work independently & within a team, and manage multiple priorities   
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS software systems (specifically BambooHR)

    Junior Accountant - Nairobi

    Job Description

    • The Junior Accountant will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting across multiple entities. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build strong technical skills and gain exposure to multi-country financial operations.
    • You will work closely with the Finance and Operations Manager and broader finance team to support day-to-day accounting activities and ensure financial data is accurate and up to date.

    Who You Are

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (internships included)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Basic familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Xero, Sage, or similar)
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Willingness to learn and take initiative
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
    • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
    • Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA) is a plus

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Assist in recording and coding financial transactions accurately in accounting systems
    • Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice tracking and payment follow-ups
    • Prepare and assist with weekly payment runs
    • Upload bank statements and assist with bank reconciliations
    • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets
    • Support balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
    • Review and process employee expense reports
    • Help maintain the fixed asset register
    • Assist in preparing cash flow tracking and basic forecasts
    • Support the finance team during audits by gathering required documentation
    • Assist with statutory filings and compliance requirements
    • Contribute to maintaining organized financial records across multiple entities
    • Provide general administrative and ad hoc support to the finance team

    Senior Associate – Natural Capital - Francophone Africa

    As a Senior Associate, you will lead market and value‑chain assessments, identify and evaluate investment opportunities, and provide transaction support to both investors and capital seekers. In the Congo Basin, this work includes building relationships with private sector companies in agriculture and broader nature‑based sectors, as well as with investors such as DFIs, carbon financiers and banks. The role also includes frequent travel within the region, including to rural areas, to engage with local stakeholders, such as smallholder farmers. You will also support business development, new strategic partnerships, and thought leadership.

    Who You Are

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred (or another relevant advanced degree/professional qualification)
    • 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or similar
    • Experience living and/or working in underserved markets required; experience in the Central Africa and the Congo Basin highly preferred
    • Background in agriculture or natural capital is preferred
    • High tolerance for ambiguity; able to operate effectively in a changing context
    • Strong quantitative skills and analytical abilities: can think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issues
    • Great at building and maintaining relationships under stress with colleagues and clients in the sector and/or region
    • Willing to take on new types of work, even without prior experience or direct supervision
    • Experience in project management/leadership roles preferred
    • Excellent presentation skills: ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
    • Self-starter who is humble and passionate about creating lasting change in underserved markets
    • Enthusiastic about working, traveling, and living in sometimes challenging environments
    • Fluency in English and French is required
    • Experience in natural capital, conservation, forestry, agriculture, or similar sector strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of carbon markets, with experience developing carbon projects preferred
