    Human Resources Coordinator

    Responsibilities

    • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
    • Redirect HR-related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person on the team
    • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
    • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, etc.)
    • Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts, etc.
    • Assist supervisors in performance management procedures
    • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events, etc. and maintain the team’s agenda
    • Coordinate training sessions and seminars
    • Perform orientations, onboarding, and update records with new hires
    • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
    • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, like a collection of employee feedback
    • Support other functions as assigned

    Requirements and skills

    • Proven experience as an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position
    • Knowledge of human resources processes and best practices
    • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, in particular)
    • Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems (e.g. Virtual Edge)
    • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools, like resume databases and online communities
    • Familiarity with social media recruiting
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
    • Good organizational and time management skills
    • CIPD certification is an advantage
    • BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field; additional education in Human Resource Management will be a plus

    Retail Manager

    Responsibilities

    As a retail manager, you'll need to:

    • manage and motivate a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
    • manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
    • analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
    • analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
    • use information technology to record sales figures, analyze data, and forward plan
    • deal with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
    • provide or organize training and development
    • ensure standards for quality, customer service, and health and safety are met
    • resolve health and safety, legal and security issues
    • respond to customer complaints and comments
    • organize special promotions, displays, and events
    • attend and chair meetings
    • update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives, and other pertinent issues
    • tour the sales floor regularly, talk to colleagues and customers and identify or resolve urgent issues
    • deal with sales, as and when required
    • maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitor what competitors are doing
    • initiate changes to improve the business, such as revising opening hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market
    • promote the organization locally by liaising with marketing practitioners
    • deal with other aspects of the business, such as customer service, finance, human resources, information technology, logistics, or marketing
    • Lead the company expansion plan

    Working hours

    • In the retail sector, the normal working week is 45 hours and can exceed during peak periods such as Christmas, sales, and other seasonal holidays.

    Qualifications

    Although this area of work is open to all graduates, an HND or degree in the following subjects may increase your chances:

    • accounting and finance
    • business studies
    • marketing
    • retail management.

    • the ability to plan and prioritize workloads and delegate accordingly

    • the capacity to grasp new concepts quickly

    Work experience

    • If you want to work in the retail industry with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
    • You may be involved in a variety of different roles like stock management, pricing, merchandising, finance, and customer service.
