    Senior Associate-Deal Advisory (Restructuring)

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Help our clients reduce balance sheet stress, generate cash and reduce costs or refinance to find the best source of capital to support their business objectives
    • Day to day case management of administrations, liquidations, corporate workouts, and other corporate insolvency processes
    • Involvement in pre-insolvency planning matters
    • Supporting engagement leads in ensuring 100% compliance with statutory deadlines on cases
    • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including communications with remote-based colleagues and dealing with external lawyers, agents and key creditors
    • Keeping up to date with insolvency and other relevant legislation across the GCC
    • Identify risk issues and ensure these are escalated to your senior management
    • Theorizing net returns for clients and other stakeholders from financially distressed companies and individuals
    • Day to day management of asset recoveries and litigation matters
    • Analyze complex data and use it to tell a story to stakeholders
    • Bringing your unique skills and interests to bear to improve outcomes for our clients, people and practice
    • Assist the Managers, Directors and Partners in delivering services to our various clients across all industries.
    • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to junior team members.
    • Review the work of junior members of the team and provide training where necessary.
    • Develop and present client materials including status reports, project reports and presentations.
    • Actively participate in the hands-on delivery of projects and programs which may include program design and development; benefits and quality management; stakeholder management; portfolio management; program and project planning including milestone management; and risk and issue management.
    • Preparation of proposals to target clients and support in business development efforts.
    • Maintain relationships with key client contacts.
    • Performing all other related tasks and duties as may be determined from time to time by the team leaders and members.

    Competencies and Skills

    • Experience in financial due diligence, corporate insolvency cases and restructurings (out-of-court and in-court procedures) are considered an asset.
    • A bachelor’s degree in a business-related course from a reputable university.
    • 4-6 years of relevant work experience
    • ACCA ACA, CFA, CPA designations are an added advantage.
    • Confident with financial statement analysis and financial modelling
    • Technical and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex issues to support client solutions.
    • Passionate about delivery of work and has a strong desire to succeed by learning from colleagues and creating collaborative relationships at all levels.
    • Experience in analyzing business models and company operational environment including macroeconomic, political and social.
    • Motivated to build excellent working relationships and meet deadlines successfully in a fast paced & dynamic environment.
    • Ability to identify risk issues.
    • Excellent at writing reports
    • Confident communicator and can deliver messages with impact to a wide variety of audiences.
    • Keen to leverage technology enabled and digital tools to achieve efficient delivery for our clients

    Business Development Manager

    Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the selected candidate will support in daily business development activities, contributing to various aspects, including:

    • Support the Deal Advisory Partners and Directors in developing and executing the Deal Advisory growth strategy.
    • Provide strategic advice on target markets, client segmentation, and value proposition.
    • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships and collaborations to expand the firm's reach.
    • Manage the business development pipeline.
    • Coordinate proposals for opportunity managers/directors, following standardised pursuit workflows
    • Build strong relationships with key clients, alliance partners and other stakeholders
    • Assist in preparing and leading client presentations, proposals, and other business development materials.
    • Lead in the implementation of business unit client events and industry events, maximising KPMG’s brand visibility and engagement.
    • Contribute to the development and dissemination of thought leadership content, such as articles, whitepapers, and case studies.
    • Develop periodic reports using the data gathered to inform business decisions at a local, regional and global level.
    • Drive, participate and contribute to firm, function, business unit, sector and service level meetings.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to prioritise opportunities and optimise resource allocation.
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential clients within the Deal Advisory ecosystem including analysis of market data and preparation of comprehensive reports to inform business development strategies.
    • Monitor industry publications, news, and regulatory changes to stay updated on market developments
    • Risk management – Ensure full compliance with KPMG's quality, risk and management requirements.
    • Any other tasks that will be assigned to you.

    Academic qualifications, professional qualifications and minimum requirements to qualify:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
    • Experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within the professional services space.
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in business development, strategy or marketing
    • Well-developed presentation, proposal and report writing communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good understanding of Project Finance, Transaction Advisory and Corporate Finance concepts and processes. Understand of the key market players and the transactions landscape will be an added advantage.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • MBA, advanced degree or professional qualification in finance, accounting or a related field.
    • Experience working in a Big Four firm or a similar professional services organisation.
