    Senior Supervisor – Pensions Administration

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee the end-to-end administration of a portfolio of pension schemes including onboarding, contributions, benefit payments, and exits. 
    • Verify and approve complex fund updates, scheme valuations, member statements, and regulatory filings. 
    • Authorize escalated withdrawal requests and high-value transactions within the set approval matrix. 
    • Monitor compliance with statutory obligations and support internal/external audits. 
    • Lead and coordinate trustee and member meetings, AGMs, and training sessions. 
    • Prepare and review quarterly and annual scheme performance and compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies. 
    • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and performance oversight for junior staff and scheme supervisors. 
    • Drive innovation through automation of operational processes and continuous improvement initiatives. 
    • Liaise with external stakeholders, including clients, intermediaries, custodians, and regulators, to resolve complex scheme matters. 
    • Contribute to the preparation of scheme-specific board papers and performance dashboards for leadership review. and 
    • Other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time. 

    Academic and Professional Qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. 
    • Professional qualification in retirement benefits, insurance, marketing, or business development (e.g, FSRI, CPSP, AIIK, CPAM, CIM).
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pension administration with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity. 
    • Strong understanding of the Retirement Benefits Act and the regulatory framework in Kenya. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Assistant Portfolio Manager

    Purpose of the Role

    The Assistant Portfolio Manager provides comprehensive support to the Investment Manager in the day-to-day management of client portfolios and the overall operations of the Investments Department. The role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of investment strategies, timely and accurate reporting, and adherence to all regulatory guidelines set by the Capital Markets Authority and the Retirement Benefits Authority.

    Key Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities for the position are as hereunder:

    • Support the Investment Manager in developing and implementing asset allocation strategies for client portfolios
    • Monitor investment dealing and trading activity, and prepare portfolio performance reports against benchmarks
    • Conduct fundamental and technical research to generate investment ideas and macroeconomic perspectives
    • Prepare and consolidate investment, fund, and compliance reports for management, clients, trustees, and regulators (CMA, RBA)
    • Liaise with stockbrokers, custodians, and other third-party service providers
    • Support client communication, presentations, and marketing initiatives

    Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

    Qualified candidates are expected to possess the following 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; demonstrable progress toward a Master’s degree is an added advantage
    • A professional qualification such as CISI, CIFA, or progress towards the CFA program is highly desirable
    • 4 – 6 years’ experience in the investment or fund management industry
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of financial modelling and valuation
    • Proficiency in investment software and data platforms
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
    • Demonstrated high ethical standards and impeccable integrity
