Head of Laundry at InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG)

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Developing and putting into operation the current system and technical advancement in the field of Laundry operations.
• Ensuring washing of linen and uniforms as per standards stipulated.
• Maintenance and upkeep of all laundry equipment.
• Co-ordinating with the Engineering Department about routine maintenance of equipment.
• Oversee the laundry equipment preventive maintenance program.
• Assisting in preparation of the annual Laundry budget.
• Look into new methods for increasing laundry efficiency.
• Overall controlling and supervision of the Department.
• Monitor laundry costs.
• Make reports and recommendations when required.
• Conduct weekly departmental meetings with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Hotel or Hospitality Management
• A certificate in Laundry or Housekeeping techniques is a requirement
• Minimum of two years in Laundry management
• Strong leadership skills to motivate the team
• Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
• Familiar with Industry’s best practices
