    School Nurse

    Ref: SGC/SN/4/2017

    Reporting To: Director

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide basic medical services to both the staff and students and organize referrals to specialist when necessary
    • Maintain clinic equipment and assess and ensure the supply of consumable supplies on an ongoing basis.
    • Liaise with the local health authorities to keep the Centre abreast of any updates on regulatory changes and public health alerts
    • Provide nursing care and physical screening to students; assess students and implement first aid measures for students as needed;
    • Initiate emergency procedures for students and staff as needed;
    • Maintains, evaluates, and interprets cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of students.

    Key Qualifications/Experience

    • Diploma in Nursing from a recognized medical training Institute, related degree will be an added advantage.
    • Must be a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN)
    • KCSE mean grade C+(Plus) and above.
    • At least three (3) years relevant work experience
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Effectual team player and service oriented
    • Experience in inventory management to ensure that there are no stock outs.
    • Pleasant personality, fit to students
    • Applicants should be able to diagnose simple ailments and prescribe appropriate treatment
    • Mature person, preferable female

    Social Worker

    Ref: SGC/SW/5/2017

    Reporting To: Finance Officer/Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Organizing and monitoring sponsor,Sponsorship projects on the site.
    • Coordinating cross project activities like nutrition, e-roots and sponsorship.
    • Monitoring sponsor, Sponsorship deadlines, budgets and activities.
    • Preparing reports for the various offices internal and external.
    • Responding to sponsor/student questions and concerns
    • Enrolling needy students (among those in school) to be sponsored.
    • Developing and maintaining sponsor scholars files
    • Counseling students when need arises.
    • Supervising and coordinating correspondence between students and sponsor.
    • Ensuring that Sponsored students comply with the sponsorship rules and regulations.

    Key Qualifications/Experience

    • Diploma in social work, psychology or sociology
    • KCSE mean grade C (Plain) and above
    • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Proven work experience as a social worker
    • Working knowledge of social theories and practices
    • Social perceptiveness and empathy
    • Ability to build and maintain professional helping relationships
    • Ability to relate and communicate with diverse population and groups
    • Resilience along with ability to assess situations
    • Willing to submit to background checks

    Farm Assistants

    Ref: SGC/FA/6/2017

    Reporting To: Finance Officer/Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Livestock care and management including feeding, cleaning (mucking out), caring for sick or newborn livestock and milking cows amongst others
    • Land preparation, planting, crop protection and harvesting amongst others
    • Machinery operation
    • Maintenance of machinery, farm buildings, tools and equipment
    • General farm maintenance.
    • Trim and lay hedges and put up and mend fences
    • Dig and maintain ditches
    • Receipt and storage of supplies
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor

    Key Qualifications/Experience

    • Diploma in agriculture or its equivalent from a recognized institution
    • KCSE mean grade C-(Minus) and above
    • 3 years relevant working experience
    • Shown merit and ability in work performance and results
    • Ability to do hard physical work and should be aware of health and safety
    • Practical skills and technical knowledge of a farm
    • Communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
    • Reliable, responsible and self-motivated
    • Willingness to work flexibly

    Kitchen Assistants

    Ref: SGC/KA/7/2017

    Reporting To: Finance Officer/Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the head cook in preparing meals
    • Maintain proper hygiene standards in the kitchen
    • Ensure all meals are prepared and ready by the stipulated time for delivery to the students
    • Help keep track of stock and inventory and report to the head cook
    • Run errands as directed by the head cook
    • Prepare meals, strictly following the recipes given and maintain consistency of the same
    • Any other job as stipulated by supervisor

    Key Qualifications/Experience

    • Certificate in food and beverage production or related field
    • KCSE mean grade C-(Minus) and above
    • Above 2 year experience in a similar role, previous work experience in a school set up will be an added advantage
    • Excellent food preparation and cleaning skills

    Artisan/ Carpenter

    Ref: SGC/AC/8/2017

    Reporting To: Finance Officer/Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    • General carpentry repairs and maintenance
    • Skills on plumbing, general fitting, and masonry will be an added advantage
    • Custodian of workshop implements and equipment.
    • Accurate record keeping
    • Any other jobs as stipulated by supervisor

    Key Qualifications/Experience

    • Certificate in Carpentry/Artisan
    • KCSE mean grade D+ (Plus) and above
    • Above 2 year experience in a similar role, previous work experience in a school set up will be an added advantage
