    Travel Desk Agent

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Financial Markets, the position holder will be responsible for canvassing and mobilising Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and Offshore deposit customers to SBM Indian Operations. He/she will be proactively contacting NRI’s/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holders and Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) customers for opening and transacting NRI deposits to SBM Indian Operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Build the FPI & Non-Residential Deposits (NR) business for SBM Indian operations
    • Cross-Sell Custody, Investments and other products to the FPI & NRI Customers in view of generating fee income to the Bank
    • Liaise with local companies and other overseas entities for offshore customer acquisition (both FPI & NRI)
    • Engage in continuous relationship with International Banking & Private Wealth, for generating NRI/Offshore liability business for both Mauritius & Indian Operations
    • Maintain effective relationships with existing and new customers with highest level of customer service
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies, KYC & AML norms for all new customers, remittances and transactions
    • Accountable for monitoring and record keeping of sales figures for presentation to Senior Management

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • A University degree in Banking, Financial Management or any related field
    • Postgraduate qualifications will constitute a definite advantage
    • 2 years’ experience in the Financial Sector or any relevant areas
    • Experience in Financial Investments and Markets locally and globally
    • Strong knowledge of related laws and regulations pertaining to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) & Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)
    • Adaptable to multicultural work environment
    • Excellent communication and mediation skills

    IT Officer

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, the IT Officer will be responsible for implementing and supporting intensive data analytical applications. The job incumbent will also be called upon to translate business requirement into a technical solution.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Providing technical and functional support to analytical applications such as customer profitability and risk management systems

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, the Web Developers will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining websites for SBM Group. The job incumbents will also be responsible for developing and implementing a usability testing process to ensure that the websites always meet the minimum usability and performance requirement.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Website and software application designing, building, updating, or maintaining

    Group Chief Internal Auditor

    Job Purpose:

    The Group Chief Internal Auditor will have a proven background in internal audit, including information technology, financial and operational controls, ideally in a financial institution. This person will have exceptional business leadership skills and will oversee the audit reviews of SBM Group Banking & Non-Banking operating entities. He or she will report directly to the Chairman of the Audit Committee.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • As the Group Chief Internal Auditor, he or she will bring best-in-class thinking to the internal audit function relative to risk assessment, audit process development, utilisation of automated audit tools and the development of the function, and will be expected to:
    • Understand the risk profile of SBM Holdings Ltd and its group of companies
    • Work in collaboration with the different internal audit team leaders from our subsidiaries to ensure that the audit methodology is standard throughout all the group’s entities
    • Drive the development of and execute against risk-based audit plans that clearly define the objective and scope of each review, employing critical thinking and appropriate testing methodologies
    • Provide an independent appraisal of controls over financial integrity, operational effectiveness, IT controls for security, privacy and high availability, and compliance with laws and internal policies
    • Conduct special investigations and confidential assignments for SBM Holdings Ltd
    • Communicate findings in a timely manner, obtaining agreement on the root cause of issues and commitment to implementation of recommendations
    • Follow up and appraise implementation of corrective actions

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Must possess professional qualification; ACA, ACCA or international equivalent
    • A professional qualification from IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) is a plus
    • A Master Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, and/or Economics is a plus
    • 15+ years of audit experience, of which 7+ years should have been in senior management position in a significant size financial institution or leading audit firm
    • Experience of audit committees
    • Comprehensive knowledge of auditing practices, procedures and principles, sufficient to interpret and analyse complex concepts and apply them in innovative ways. Skills and knowledge should include an extensive understanding of financial, operational, market and credit risk

    Economics Lead

    Job Purpose:

    Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Research, the job incumbent will lead the Economics team in delivering pertinent economic and financial analysis and projections, as well as publications, to support decision-making of internal stakeholders, and promote the Group’s image.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure delivery as per timelines and quality standards in respect of the unit’s output which includes: SBM Insights, business opportunities and risks, industry research, macroeconomic research and other ad hoc economic and financial research, among others
    • Drive the forecasting exercise for economic and financial variables relevant to the Group
    • Carry out presentation to the Boards, Board Committees and other forums as appropriate
    • Ensure quality check of the output of Business Consultants and Analysts
    • Monitor and disseminate economic and financial information relevant to the Group

    • Manage and coach a team of Economists and Analysts
    • Ensure that the processes for the unit are in place and are duly followed, including management of databases and quantitative models

    • Prepare the strategic plan of the Economics unit for validation with Head of Strategy and Research

    Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

    • Master’s degree in the field of Economics, Finance, Statistics or other related areas/professional qualifications, with 7 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years at supervisory level
    • Experience in finance can constitute an advantage
    • Good mastery of Microsoft Office tools
    • Strong research and analytical capabilities, with a quantitative bias and a focus on quality
    • Application and use of Econometric modelling and software
    • Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to deliver under tight deadlines
