    Deputy Director Counseling

    Vacancy Number: V/No.19/2018

    Roles

    • Initiating and preparing Counseling advisory meetings;
    • Following-up on Counseling sessions and activities in the field;
    • Monitoring implementation and evaluation of accounting and management systems as well as guidelines for Counseling;
    • Providing Counselor supervision to field officers to ensure that Counseling activities are conducted efficiently;
    • Keeping appropriate records;
    • Conducting research in Counseling and supervising staff working under the officer;
    • Provide Counseling services to employees;
    • Provide appropriate interventions to assist employees with psycho-social related problems;
    • Identify employees with social, psychological or health related problems;
    • Planned organized seminars and workshops on counseling matters.

    Job Qualification, Knowledge and Skill

    • Master’s Degree in Counseling or in any of the Social Sciences with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counseling from a recognized institution;
    • Strategic Leadership Development Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks;
    • Counselor Supervision Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks;
    • Trainer of Facilitation Course in Psychological Counseling lasting not less than two (2) weeks;
    • Psychological Debriefing Course lasting not less than one week;
    • Registration with the Kenya Counseling Association (KCA); and,
    • Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution of Kenya;
    • Twelve (12) years of service of which three (3) should be in a similar comparable position from a reputable organization.

    • In addition to the qualifications set out in the Constitution and the enabling statutes, applications for Deputy Directors and Managers positions MUST further furnish clearance certificates from: –
    • Director, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC);
    • Commissioner General, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
    • Chief Executive Officer, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
    • Certificate of Good Conduct (DCI).

    NB: The above criteria are applicable only to the senior positions of Deputy Directors and Managers.

    DISQUALIFICATION CRITERIA

    • No person shall be qualified for appointment in any of the above posts if the person:
    • Has previously been convicted of any criminal offence;
    • Has violated the Constitution;
    • Is an undischarged bankrupt;
    • Has been adversely mentioned in any report by a Commission of Inquiry or any Parliamentary Committee;
    • Canvasses directly, indirectly, by proxy, by emissary, by ethnic or clan whipping, by pressure groups, by other associations or in any other way;
    • Knowingly, willingly and blatantly lies, misrepresents, cheats and fails to disclose material facts.
