    Senior Motion Designer

    The position: The Senior Motion Designer supports Busara’s Communications division from its headquarters in Nairobi. This is a position that requires capability in design, execution of projects and time management. With up to 40 ongoing projects within the organisation at once, there are a wide variety of design challenges and design needs, from developing client-facing collateral, to supporting our brand strategy, and raising awareness around Behavioral Science.

    The Senior Motion Designer is responsible for creating and using video and animated 2- and 3-dimensional motion assets to elevate brand narratives across a variety of mediums and channels. They will identify the best techniques and methods to communicate brand narratives and explore different approaches to expand our team’s capability and expertise.

    Core Responsibilities

    The Senior Motion Designer will enhance Busara’s outreach and reputation through compelling and beautiful design for both internal and external projects. More specifically, the deliverables of the Senior Motion Designer will include (not exclusively):

    • Meet with clients/internal team to determine scope of projects
    • Create materials that support the brand identity
    • Liaise with the rest of the team in the execution of deliverables
    • Stay up-to-date with new design techniques and software
    • Create ownable material to uniquely streamline Busara’s portfolio
    • Track progress and impact of the design work completed, to improve and learn over time

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate is action-oriented, a self-starter, quickly grasps new concepts, has excellent project management skills and is focused on results. In particular, we are looking for candidates with:

    • Ability to quickly understand Busara’s business and organizational culture and how to use communications, testing and design to support that culture.
    • Proven ability to work well with diverse teams, under tight deadlines
    • Collaborative approach to design, receptive to input in the creative process
    • Clear, proactive communication, and ability to set expectations for timeline and scope of work
    • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Audition, After Effects)
    • Experience with user-centered design principles
    • A history of contributing strategically to organizations, with an emphasis on communications and design
    • An ability to work with and inspire people from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and experiences
