Building and Construction Trainer at Beacon of Hope Vocational Training College

We seek a highly motivated and qualified Building and Construction Trainer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective delivery of the curriculum, student discipline, effective management of learning resources and assessments.

Responsibilities:

• Train theory and practical lessons for students on building and construction
• Prepare and use schemes of work, course outlines and lesson plans in line with the approved examining body curriculum in delivering teaching and instructing students
• Prepare materials to facilitate creative learning and complete demonstrations as outlined in curriculum
• Set assignments regularly and mark them promptly, and follow –up with students’ suggestions for further appropriate improvements in learning
• Ensure that students understand and follow the college rules and regulations in order to maintain high level of discipline
• Provide guidance and counseling to students to nurture development including spiritual care and make referrals where considered necessary

The ideal candidate:

• A minimum academic qualification of a Diploma in Building, Civil Engineering with pedagogy training
• A minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience as a technical trainer
• A mature Christian
• Excellent communication and public relations skills
• Strong curriculum delivery skills
• Awareness about child safeguarding practices
