    Business Development Manager

    Overall Purpose

    We are currently hiring a seasoned Corporate Finance professional to join our team. We meet exciting companies with dynamic growth goals
    and support them on their raising finance journey. This role is responsible for the business development, deal structuring and
    marketing for equity, fixed income, and exchange traded funds/products.

    The main focus of the role is to support the Business Development team in growing the client base of NSE’s main market capital market products
    and alternative assets. The role will also involve helping to design and contribute to client engagement programs and work with individual andgroups of clients to support their take-up and ongoing use of our products and services.

    The Corporate Finance professional will also be involved in building long term relationships with listed companies and understanding their business needs. He/ she will establish and maintain this relationship by actively engaging with the companies and together with the Business
    Development Team, run various initiatives intended to add value and educate listed companies in new company requirements, corporate governance initiatives etc.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Undertake client meetings with clients and potential to support product uptake and the development of client segment and
    • individual client strategies, including Deal structuring and other transaction related matters;
    • Work closely with the Chief Business Officer to identify new business and product development opportunities;
    • Make recommendations to improve the competitive positioning, of traditional and alternative capital market products;
    • Responsible for actively seeking new listings;
    • Liaising with business stakeholders across all levels to achieve transactional goals and to ensure marketing is aligned with, and supportive of, business agenda, growth priorities and our product launch process;
    • Partner with stakeholders to provide input into the packaging and positioning of our solutions to develop compelling value propositions, and identify financing requirements;
    • Keeping abreast of the changing business landscape in order to identify opportunities to drive both organic and inorganic growth
    •  Gathering, analyzing and interpreting complicated data, assessing and predicting financial risks and returns associated with capital market issuances;
    • Using financial modelling to predict outcomes for companies considering capital market products, and structuring financial details as part of the sales pitching process.;
    • Running transactions, and liaising with accountants, lawyers, financial experts and regulatory bodies;
    • Thought Leadership agenda to support marketing programs, ongoing regulation changes and new product launches;
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in a business related field. Possession of a Master’s degree in a Business related field will be an added advantage;
    2. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CISI, CPA, ACCA, ACA or ACMA and membership to a relevant professional body;
    3. Minimum four (4) years’ experience in capital markets and/or have at least three (3) years’ experience in significant corporate finance advisory roles;
    4. Must demonstrate strategic thinking and insight, and project management skills; and
    5. Strong Excel, Financial Modeling, PowerPoint and other MS Office skills.

    1. Self-starter with a good attitude and results-oriented with emphasis on expansion and application of business and technical knowledge;
    2. Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work to meet tight deadlines and foster a strong team dynamic;
    3. Understanding of the Capital Markets ecosystem as well as key competitors in the space;
    4. Strong storyteller who can turn complex, technical information into client-facing materials utilizing the right channels;
    5. Hands-on, curious thinker who isn’t afraid to ask questionsand work in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to take astrategic view on commercial opportunities;
    6. Ability to deal with multiple priorities and changing  requirements; and possess a high level of energy and enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and sense of urgency;
    7. Good analytical, negotiation and people skills.
