    Manager, Projects (I/II)

    Ref: MPII

    Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Oversee planning, design, defining construction projects objectives, project scope, roles, and responsibilities.
    • Provide oversight and direction to outside third parties (architects, engineers, construction professionals) on projects.
    • Develop and implement strategies, methods, and procedures for monitoring projects to inform management of status of each project
    • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
    • Create and implement an organisation Property Management Manual that establishes standardised policies and procedures and best practises applicable to each project and the organisation.
    • Negotiate construction, professional services, and draft letters of intent (LOI) for contracts and purchase with sellers.
    • Manage the predevelopment activities and project financing tasks of development projects, including affordable housing tax credit projects and other multi-family and mixed-use development projects.
    • Manage design process to ensure compliance/waiver/approval by City, State and Federal approval, financing sustainability, and design standards
    • Manage construction bidding/pricing process for inclusion in the final project budget required for all closings
    • Develop policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at providing superior advisory services to clients.
    • Oversee and maintain project budgets, schedules, and other project related information and documentation utilising standard project management tools.
    • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and prioritise initiatives focused on client services, value delivery, efficiency/cost control, project planning, and resource management.
    • Oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarise progress of projects.
    • Manage various project and product development teams and key partnerships representatives to ensure optimal delivery on all the projects.
    • Lead project management teams to deliver projects that span across several different business units.
    • Identify and document risks related to the Projects services, processes, and products within the risk register.
    • evelop appropriate risk responses for identified risks to ensure the risks are mitigated and eliminate any possibility of recurrence.
    • Report any occurring risks regularly to the Director, LASER, and the Risk Division.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required

    • Academic and Professional Qualifications/Memberships to professional bodies:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, in architecture, business, real estate, engineering or construction management or relevant field
    • Master's’ Degree in architecture, business, real estate, engineering or construction management or relevant field will be an added advantage
    • Certificate in Real Estate Management or any relevant professional qualification/ certification
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an added advantage

    Experience Required:

    • At least 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar organisation or function, 3 of which should have been in a managerial role for Manager I in a similar organisation or busy function
    • At least 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar organisation or function, 2 of which should have been in a supervisory role for Manager II in a similar organisation or busy function
