Catering Section Head at Strathmore University

Basic job summary:

To be Responsible for overseeing the day to day activities in the kitchen area in order to bring about accountability and produce quality products according to the approved recipes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Oversee kitchen store supply requisition based on the number of functions.
2. Confirm the number of functions, assigning duties to the Chef.
3. Supervise and instruct food production and preparation in order to ensure smooth workflow.
4. Monitor and document food portions being prepared, account for spoilages and shortages.
5. Observe and ensure that food is delivered in the right station at the right time.
6. Oversee cleanliness and the maintenance of hygiene standards.
7. Spearhead casuals employee and intern training
8. Dispatch food in the system to the various serving points.

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

• Diploma in Food Production or any other related field from a recognised institution
• Professional qualification in food and beverage

Experience:

• At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy environment with one (1) year experience in a supervisory role.
