    Finance Officer –GL, Payables and Fixed Assets

    The Finance officer is expected to provide financial and administrative support to the business, customers and other stakeholders of the business. The holder of the role will also be involved in the identification and implementation of systems, polices and processes for the Finance function intended to improve the financial monitoring, accountability and growth across the business.

    Responsibilities

    • Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
    • Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors.
    • Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors on time.
    • Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassification, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger monthly, as well as preparing reports.
    • Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.
    • Reconciling accounts with the general ledger.
    • Identification, recording, valuation, accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of capital projects, the reconciliation and reporting of capital work in progress.
    • Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
    • Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the ERP system.
    • Creating of IFRS 16 model for all leasing obligations.
    • Coordinate the project and capital spending review process for the company.
    • Proactive involvement in implementation of ERP system ensuring automation and efficient workflows achieved.
    • Other tasks as demanded by the business.

    Requirements

    • A first degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or any relevant discipline.
    • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. ACCA/CPA.

    Finance Officer –Inventory

    The Finance officer is expected to providing financial and administrative support to the business, customers and other stakeholders of the business. The holder of the role will also be involved in the identification and implementation of systems, polices and processes for the Finance function intended to improve the financial monitoring, accountability and growth across the business.

    Responsibilities

    • Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger.
    • Maintain daily/monthly stocks report and conduct daily reconciliation of receipts, issues, sales and highlight any variances for action on respective warehouses.
    • In liaison with the supply coordinator, ensure timely receipt in the ERP and correct costing of all stocks procured that Include, Fuels, Lubricants, LPG.
    • Preparing sales reconciliations daily for all the products handled by the company at the depot and COCO retail stations ensuring that any differences are explained and supported by documents.
    • Prepare monthly stock reports for approval, following up to ensure all adjustments are done on time.
    • Conduct physical stock counts are carried at the end of every quarter in accordance with laid down stock taking procedures.
    • Proactive involvement in implementation of ERP system ensuring automation and efficient workflows achieved.
    • Other tasks as demanded by the business.

    Requirements

    • A first degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or any relevant discipline.
    • Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. ACCA/CPA.
    • Knowledge of Stock Accounting/Inventory Management support especially for petroleum products, will be an added advantage.

    Finance Officer – MI, Planning and Budgeting

    The Finance officer is expected to provide financial and administrative support to the business, customers and other stakeholders of the business. This is a key business advisory role supporting decision-making, highlighting key financial issues and risks to be considered. The holder of the role will be involved in the identification and implementation of systems, polices and processes for the Finance function intended to improve the financial monitoring, accountability and growth across the business.

    Responsibilities

    • Produce regular financial reports providing management with an overview of business and financial performance.
    • Ensure the integrity of financial models and projections through implementation of suitable controls, documentation and testing.
    • Produce, monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Develop financial KPIs which will be used to assess the success of both the business and the financial strategy.
    • Analyze competitor and market financial information to provide insight to assist with decision-making.
    • Managing the budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process.
    • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the business keeps a record of all risks and opportunities identified from the monthly balance sheet review exercise.
    • Coordinate the project and capital spending review process for the Group.
    • Ensure the business is fully compliant with the requirements of Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and all other regulatory bodies.
    • Proactive involvement in implementation of ERP system ensuring automation and efficient workflows achieved.

    Requirements

    Accountant

    Job Description

    The Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all client funding transactions are reconciled and attributed to the correct funding accounts. The role will communicate reconciled information to other members of the payroll department to ensure accurate accounting for tax payments and associated refunds/payments needed out of our payroll systems. This role will ensure that they are current on all system and procedural changes to assist the customer better and the payroll department in balancing their account monthly.

    Responsibilities 

    • Manage accounting software and implement new features and updates.
    • Calculate all appropriate adjustments, deductions and credits working with customers.
    • Check data input and verify totals on forms prepared to ensure correct tax form completion.
    • Communicate payment information to internal departments as needed (accounting, tax and payroll).
    • Reconcile payments and funding from client accounts.
    • Setup and process General Ledger (GL) entries for clients.
    • Audit prior months data for debit and credit information processed after payroll processed.
    • Process ACH files and reconcile payrolls processed each day.
    • Review invoices and bills form 3rd party partners.
    • Contact clients and answer questions regarding the client’s payroll (accounting balances) via phone and email.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred. 
    • Must have knowledge of USA tax laws.
    • If worked for a USA-based company either virtually or remotely will be an added advantage.
    • 5 years of accounting experience.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation highly preferred.
    • Experience in a multi-client environment is highly preferred.
    • Experience with QuickBooks and related software tools.
    • Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications.
    • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills.

    Requirements

    • Have more than 5 years experience in a supervisory role or related experience in paint, cement, engineering tile, ceramic tile, real estate and other similar industries. 
    • The annual sales amount of the company should be more than 20 million dollars. And the company should be located in any country with a similar economic development level to Kenya. 
    • Have experience in project management. 
    • Have experience in Key accounts management. 
    • Must have project completion experience of more than 1 million dollars. 
    • Have a bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing or a related field.
