    Requirements for Appointment

    For one to be appointed to this grade, he/she must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, International Trade/ Business /Relations or its equivalent from a recognized institution, and

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conducting market research and surveys in order to come up with new potential market for traders.
    • Market linkages: - linking traders to new and existing markets.
    • Promotion of market infrastructure development: - conducting public participations for the proposed market projects; supervising and coordinating the construction of the market projects in order to ensure work is done within the stipulated period;
    • Supervision of market projects: - conducting site visits for on-going market projects to ensure work is done as per bill of quantities
    • Management of markets: - conducting market inspections to ensure the market areas are always clean and tidy and that specific cleaning tasks are performed as required;
    • Allocation of market stalls/space: - issuance of stall allocation forms, conducting assessment of stall applicants and selecting successful applicants.

    Co-Operative Auditor I

    Job Description

    • In charge of the Co-operative Audit activities at the Sub- County level and Deputy to the County Co-operative Auditor.
    • Examining all books of accounts of Co-operative Societies in accordance with the law, rules and regulations; preparing detailed audit observations; and verifying statement of accounts and reporting the findings to immediate supervisors.
    • Advising Co-operative Societies at sub County level on Governance, Financing, Accounts, and develop and implement work plans for co-operative Audit services.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Co-operative Management, Co-operative Auditing, Internal Auditing or Finance from a recognized Institution
    • Served in the grade of Co-operative Auditor II or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years.

    • For Direct appointment, Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Co-operative Management, Commerce (Accounting /Finance option) Economics (Upper 2nd), Mathematics, Statistics from a recognized Institution;

    • Consolidating primary Audit reports/queries on Societies financial statements; reviewing and following –up of Audit work emanating from the field; directing and conducting Audit inspections of Societies’ records; monitoring and reviewing Audit programmes; compiling data on periodical financial returns, estimates of income and expenditure; collecting, collating, evaluating and documenting audit evidence; and ascertaining the adequacy of Co-operative Societies internal control systems including Computer systems.
    • Advising Co-operative Societies on Governance, Financing, Accounts, and develop and implement work plans for co-operative Audit services.

    Qualifications:

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

    • Served in the grade of Co-operative Auditor I or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
