    Credit Officer - Collections

    We are a dynamic Savings and Credit Co-operative Society committed to excellence and quality service. Due to our rapid growth over the years, we are seeking to recruit a competent, dynamic and ambitious professional to fill up the Credit Officer Collections position. The job holder will be expected to collect from defaulters all monies due and effectively manage delinquency to acceptable levels as per the Sacco policies.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Ensure that all monies due to the Sacco are collected promptly including monthly deposits, shares and children account’s contribution, loan repayments and interest recoveries
    • Preparation of defaulter’s schedule and forwarding to Credit Manager and committee for action.
    • Instituting recovery measures for all delinquent loans and releasing available guarantee /securities.
    • Preparation of management credits reports and providing technical advice to the manager.
    • Ensuring timely collection of remittances and reconciliation from corporates.
    • Coordinating with the debt collector on performance of accounts under his watch.
    • Follow up of overdue loans and debts to ensure proper recoveries are made generating a report on monthly basis including recommendation of the same
    • Negotiate payment arrangements/plans with customers who have delinquent loans.
    • Prepare and send notices to guarantors who have guaranteed delinquent loans.
    • Prepare CRB listing notification to members and disburse accordingly.
    • Field visits to defaulters
    • Financial Advisory services and education to members on savings, loan uptake and prompt loan repayment.

    Minimum Qualification and Experience:

    • A Degree in Commerce / Business Administration or any other related field any other related professional course will be an added advantage.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in the financial sector preferably in a micro finance, one of which must be carrying out debt collection and recoveries functions.

    Key Skills & Competences:

    • Willingness to learn and be flexible in the working arrangements.
    • Use initiative to plan own work schedule to meet deadlines.
    • Good knowledge of Excel spread sheets & MS Word.
    • Good Communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work as member of the team and multi-task.
    • Self-driven and proactive in collection activities.

    Finance Manager

    We are a market leader in the SACCO industry located in Nairobi and offering FOSA services to our members. As part of our growth strategy, we are looking to hire a qualified staff to fill the above position. The job holder will be expected to offer high level financial leadership in regards to the Sacco’s operations. The position holder is also responsible for leading, controlling and forecasting the society’s investments, savings and cost management activities.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    1. CPA (K) or any other Locally recognized Financial professional qualification, membership of ICPAK in good standing is mandatory
    2. A degree in finance or accounting is mandatory and a post graduate degree in related fields is an added advantage
    3. 8 years working experience with at least five (5) years’ experience in a financial field at senior level, experience in DT Sacco will be added advantage.
    4. Conversant with SACCO regulations and financial institutions reporting requirements, including SASRA and CBK requirements and IFRS.

    Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Developing, maintaining and enforcing sound financial processes, procedures and controls and ensuring compliance to both internal, regulatory and international reporting requirements across the society including overseeing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policy and procedures.
    2. Be the financial advisor to the CEO and the Board of Directors on all financial matters, funds and liquidity management in the society
    3. Undertake continuous risk assessment and apply effective internal controls
    4. Overseeing the flow of cash and financial instruments and management of financial partners for optimal returns including Treasury and cash management
    5. Planning, coordinating and directing the activities of branches and branch managers.
    6. Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information including overseeing all mandatory financial reconciliations in the business to ensure they are done within the set deadlines
    7. Prepare and implement finance department annual work plan including predicting future financial trends , opportunities and financial risks and advising on action plans.
    8. Reporting to management, the Board and stakeholders, and providing advice on how the society’s future business decisions might be impacted by current activities and trends
    9. Producing financial reports related to budgets, income/revenue, loans and loans provisioning, portfolio at risk, account payables, account receivables, expenses among others and developing long-term business plans based on these reports
    10. Preserve and grow Sacco financial assets
    11. Reviewing, monitoring and managing the Sacco annual budgets
    12. Developing strategies that work to minimise financial risk
    13. Collaborate with Auditors & regulators

    Marketing Assistant

    The position holder will be responsible for recruiting of new Members, aggressively approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business and cross-selling to existing customers. He / She shall be responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing initiatives to realize set targets in membership growth, maximizing sales profitability, selling of the Sacco’s products and/or related services and activating dormant accounts.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Co-operative Management or a business related course from a recognized institution.
    2. Customer Care training is an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE:

    1. A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a busy marketing environment.
    2. Prior experience working in the cooperative movement will be an added advantage .

    KEY COMPETENCES:

    1. Passionate customer advocacy.
    2. Deep understanding of changing market dynamics.
    3. Motivation for sales.
    4. Ability to uphold professionalism.
    5. Microsoft Office proficiency.

    Responsibilities

    1. Recruiting new members and following up to ensure they don’t fall into dormancy both individual and corporates.
    2. Cross selling of Sacco products as per the set targets.
    3. Support customer service and work closely with other departments on the execution of service delivery
    4. Responsible for finding new leads, setting meetings, following up on presentations made and closing sales deals.
    5. Build relationships with existing referral sources and cultivate new referral sources both internally and externally.
    6. Work closely with the marketing team in arranging for events/promotions for new acquisition of customers.
    7. Attend relevant Sacco exhibitions and meetings to recruit members.
    8. Regularly provide feedback to the management on the acceptance of the products in the market and suggest changes that could provide energy to the sales efforts.
    9. Assist in improving the visibility and brand image of the company.
