Job Purpose:

• We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Manager, who is experienced in developing complex web and mobile app experiences with the ability to adapt, learn quickly and has excellent problem-solving skills. You’ll work with a team of engineers, UI/UX designers to build scalable, fast and secure software that serves the needs of our customers all over Africa.

Responsibilities :

• Develop product roadmaps in collaboration with relevant product and engineering teams that execute product vision and strategy.
• Develop a detailed understanding of our relevant market segments, and continually assess the competitive landscape and emerging industry trends; ensuring we consistently improve our product and solve the right problems that deliver maximum impact for our customers and Jumba.
• Define how we will measure the success and effectiveness of our product strategy and drive the execution and continuous evaluation of those metrics.
• In collaboration with the UI/UX Designer conduct and integrate usability studies, research, and market analysis and understand evolving needs to improve user satisfaction.
• You'll guide the prioritization of work and help make resourcing and prioritization tradeoffs in service of our customers and Jumba's goals
• In collaboration with relevant stakeholders contribute to the definition and development of the go-to-market strategy for product launches to grow and engage our customers.
• Train our users on new product features.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the direct line manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Software Engineering or related STEM Education.
• Extensive experience with designing, developing, and deploying large-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of architectural challenges of high-performance, high-availability, distributed systems, with the ability to positively influence architecture and design decisions.
• Good understanding of information security concepts and best practices.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role.

Key Job Functions :

Team Management:

• Manage the engineering team, ensuring their growth and development, and wellness.
• Promote an engineering culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Maintain a culture of constructive feedback to engineers and designers in your team on how they can improve their code quality, prototyping cadence, and time to ship.
• Sprint planning and tracking.

Strategy:

• Work with your team to define the engineering roadmap and sprint planning while being ultimately responsible for execution.
• Partner with product and managers within the business to lay out and execute product roadmaps and technical strategy.
• Create and Maintain Engineering policies for the business.

Engineering:

• Lead the software architecture, design & code reviews, and delivery of projects, interfacing with product management, design and other dependencies.
• Work side-by-side with other engineers on the team, fixing bugs and ship code improvements to production
• Be leading execution for your team, ensuring the teams is in sync and shipping at a good pace
• Assess and mitigate the risk of software deployment, determining deployment schedule and maintaining high standards of internal documentation.
