    Editorial Intern (Proofreader & Editor)

    As an Editorial Intern, you will play a crucial role in our Preliminary Services stage, ensuring that every manuscript is clear, coherent, and error-free. You will gain hands-on experience in both in-depth editing and final-stage proofreading, working with a diverse range of literary projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your editorial skills in a professional publishing environment

    Key Responsibilties

    • Editing: Improve the overall quality, clarity, and structure of manuscripts by refining grammar, syntax, flow, and consistency.
    • Proofreading: Conduct final, meticulous checks to catch any surface-level errors, including typos, spelling mistakes, and punctuation inconsistencies, ensuring every book is print-ready.
    • Compliance: Ensure manuscripts adhere to standard style guides, whenever necessary, (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) as required.
    • Collaboration: Work alongside our editorial team and leverage software tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency while applying nuanced human judgment.

    Graphic Designer Intern

    The Role

    • This is a hands-on role at Eword Publishers, where you will be responsible for creating the visual materials that represent our authors and their books to the world. Your work will span book cover design, marketing and promotional graphics, social media visuals, and internal brand materials. You will collaborate closely with the editorial and production teams to ensure that every design we produce reflects the quality, professionalism, and character of the Eword brand.

    Key Responsibilties

    • Book Cover Design: Conceptualize and design of book covers client, working from briefs provided by the editorial team and incorporating author feedback through the revision process.
    • Marketing and Promotional Graphics: Design visual materials for Eword's marketing campaigns, on-brand graphics for Eword's social media platforms, including post designs, story templates, and promotional announcements.
    • Internal Design Support: Assist with the design of internal documents, presentations, and templates as required by the team.
    • Revision Management: Manage client and internal feedback professionally, implementing revisions accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining version control of design files.

This may include long form and short-form content for social media, thus helping the content build its online presence. You will work directly with our editorial and production teams to ensure that books are formatted and laid out with precision, consistency, and visual clarity. This is a practical, hands-on role for someone seeking to understand what makes a book readable, credible, and publishable.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Book Layout & Typesetting: Format and typeset manuscripts according to Eword's operating procedures and client specifications. The goal is to ensure consistent use of fonts, margins, line spacing, paragraph indentation, and chapter headings throughout each book.
    • Print-Ready File Preparation: Prepare final book files to professional print specifications, including correct page sizes, bleed settings, and resolution standards required for offset and digital printing. Receive, organize, and process manuscript files from clients, ensuring all content is accounted for and formatted correctly before proceeding to print.
    • Style Consistency: Apply and maintain uniform formatting standards across all sections of a manuscript, including front matter, body text, footnotes, headers, footers, and back matter.
