    Fleet Manager

    Reporting to the CFO and the CEO, the job holder will be managing the profitability of the School’s transport department through sound management by analyzing the School’s fleet profitability per vehicle; maintaining and managing Key Performance Indicators in the transport department consisting of safety records, kilometers travelled against the fuel consumed and the vehicles availability for scheduled picking and dropping of pupils, fleet maintenance, statutory compliance, staff training etc.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers in the School’s transport department.
    • Developing efficient driver schedules.
    • Managing drivers so that they adhere to strict schedules whilst instilling the rules of safety and security in drivers.
    • Ensuring that all school vehicles are properly registered, licensed and comply with statutory requirements
    • Ensure that the School fleet is maintained to the level that meets more than statutory requirements.
    • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection, ensuring that all school buses and vans are serviced and inspections are done on time
    • Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime
    • Monitoring driver behavior and ensuring high level of customer service
    • Participate in sourcing and purchasing of new school bus / van
    • Oversee the sale and/or auction of used vehicles as at when due
    • Regularly report expenses and performances of the fleet to the management of the company
    • Draw up a budget of the company’s fleet management department and present it to the management for further analysis and approval
    • Take preventive measures to ensure the safety of vehicle’s and drivers too
    • Take part in different workshops, staff trainings and or programs to keep up with new trends in the industry
    • Monitor fuel purchases
    • Manage the fleet of vehicles to ensure Zero accidents, fuel efficiency and proper general maintenance.
    • Maintain all reports and documentation required or requested by the department head.

    Mechanic

    Job Description/Requirements

    The purpose for the position is to perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on school buses and vans in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate timely picking and dropping of pupils to and from school.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform repair work on school buses and vans such as breakdowns, malfunctions and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.
    • Perform operation test prior to repairs to verify complaint
    • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer’s specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition, electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems
    • Follow paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format.
    • Perform final operational test on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs
    • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on school buses and vans such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and brake repairs to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit.
    • Examine vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is required.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Have at least 5 year’s relevant experience in a busy motor vehicle garage/ workshop
    • Diploma or equivalent in Automotive Engineering or any related field
    • A Certificate of good conduct.
    • Valid driver’s license with minimum class ABCE

    School Bursar

    Under the supervision of the CFO, s/he will manage receipting, student financial services, and centralized accounts receivable systems for the school. S/he will manage and coordinate the activities of staff engaged in keeping complete books of tuition fees and other receipts for the schools.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Custody and maintenance of books of accounts and accountable documents;
    • Ensure proper fees records are kept at all times and requisite meal receipts etc are issued correctly.

    School Matron / Cateress

    The successful candidate will be in charge of housekeeping and ensuring the welfare of the pupils/students in the dormitories is well maintained according to the schools standards

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To ensure that there is a clean and pleasant environment in the School throughout which involves line managing and directing cleaners both inside and outside the school
    • Be a major source of awareness of student’s behavior and be ready to alert the Administration regarding areas of concern
    • Organize and attend some school social events

    Stores In charge

    The Store Keeper will be responsible for receipting and issuance of stock items, keying in the same in the company’s stores system and ensure proper documentation and filing of all records under the stores section. The storekeeper will operate in an efficient & effective manner, according to the company policies and procedures.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Receipts and issuance of stock items ensuring proper documentation of the same and the overall administration of the company’s store management system
    • In liaison with the Store in charge, determine and implement stock codes and vocabulary.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualification and Key Skills

    School Librarian

    The school librarian is responsible for managing the school library. S/he will create a collaborative environment for students; that nurtures critical thinking and creative problem solving. The school librarian will ensure that pupils and staff are effective users of the library.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Research and select library materials.
    • Facilitate student’s access to library materials by ensuring prompt opening and closure of the library.
    • Catalogue, classify and maintain library materials.

    IT Administrator

    The incumbent will oversee the organizations’ computer systems and manage IT teams. S/he will be responsible for the maintenance of information systems and networks, upgrade and install new hardware and software, perform troubleshooting as well as back up data and manage network security.                                                                         

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participates in and supports capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.

    Skills and Abilities

    • Working technical knowledge of network, PC, platform operating systems, ERP’s etc

    • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

    Internal Auditor

    Reporting to the CEO and the Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely execution of risk-based internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan, as well as assisting with other matters and projects.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Designing an internal control framework.
    • Developing and implementing Annual Risk-Based Audit Plans.
    • Enterprise Risk Management planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation and consolidation of the school’s Risk Management matrices.
