    Maritime Security Facilitators (2)

    Job Description/Requirements

    Maritime Security Facilitators will be will be tasked to train the young persons (m/w) on maritime security as well as getting internships and placements for them under Go Blue project.

    Location: Tana River, Taita taveta, Lamu, Kwale, Kilifi

    1. Duties & responsibilities:
    2. Planning of teaching learning activities for training period**
    3. Recruitment of trainees for course**
    4. Participate in mobilization activities to ensure that center meets the targeted number of participants within timeframe**
    5. Participate in TOT and workshops to learn and delivery effective curriculums to the young persons**
    6. Assist in mobilizing stockholders for collaboration at SME labs
    7. Develop social media posts and case studies for project visibilities
    8. Mobilize best performers to give testimonies at different events in the project.
    9. Assist trainees (m/w) in attending interviews and extend support in post placement assistance**
    10. Prepare classroom timetable and training calendar for trade**
    11. Deliver practical and theoretical curriculum of the trade**
    12. Conduct internal assessment for trainees (m/w) during and after training**
    13. Invite industry players for guest lectures**
    14. Arrange Field visits and exposure visits for trainees(m/w)**
    15. Network with trade specific industries**
    16. Maintain track record of learning and keep the database up to date**
    17. Keep the MIS updated**
    18. Provide reports as and when required**
    19. Participate in placement drives**
    20. Deliver learning through online tools available like LMS**
    21. Conduct parent’s meetings **
    22. Assist center staff in important assignments as and when arrives

    Required Qualifications:

    1. At least 2 years’ experience in Marine security
    2. Diploma or Degree holder in Maritime Security arena**
    3. Strong Practical experience training security personnel’s
    4. Good understanding of Maritime security
    5. Experience working with young persons

    Vassal Repair & Maintenance Facilitators (5)

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    Required Qualifications

    1. Diploma or Degree holder in Hull and Engine Maintenance with additional qualification of welding and electrical installation
    2. 2 years practical experience in Hull an engine maintenance
    3. Basic welding skills
    4. Basic electrician skills
    5. Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
    6. Good presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
    7. Good facilitation skills

    Job Description/Requirements

    LOCATION: COAST REGION

    Availability: Immediate

    . Sector Experts (6)

    1. Sector experts in the following fields (Maritime security/ Transport & Logistics/ Hospitality & Tourism/ Vassal repair & maintenance) shall be responsible in supporting the establishment, operation and management of SME labs in each county as per selected sector. They shall play vital role in carrying out the below listed activities at SME labs.
    2. Provide coaching & mentorship, practical experiences in order to help the course facilitators accelerate the transformation of excellent ideas, inventions and skills results into products, processes and services with a significant huge business impact in the county.
    3. Work closely with Biashara centers in the county of operation by providing support in building the capacity of the Biashara center staff.
    4. Carryout research, survey, demand analysis, business feasibility for the specific course.
    5. Organize pitching competition, Idea generation workshops, business exhibitions, product development, business development workshops at SME lab by mobilizing experts and relevant stakeholders in the market.
    6. Establish an expanding network of mentors in the specific course comprising bold entrepreneurs in that field both from the JKP economic block, Kenya
    7. Provide value chain exploration and analysis in the various predetermined sectors as prescribed by JKP.
    8. In collaboration with the SME expert ensure that SME labs act as exhibition center for MSME in the county of operation.
    9. Play role in Policy Formulation: The SME lab shall take an active role in youth favorable policy advocacy, formulation and implementation in the JKP economic block and the country at large.
    10. Ensure that by practice SME lab becomes System influencer: SME lab as part center of excellence shall actively influence and advocate for full implementation of TVET within the framework requirements of the National Education Sector Strategic Plan (2018-2022 CBET) in the region.
    11. Offer entrepreneurial support to the SME lab.
    12. Develop social media posts and case studies for the specific course for project visibilities
    13. Mobilize best performers in specific course to give testimonies at different events in the project.

    Required minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the fields of Maritime security, Transport & Logistics, Tourism, Vassal repair & maintenance or other related field
    • Proven working experience with programs promoting SME development, and private sector development projects.
    • Good understanding of specific sector development context and strategic framework
    • Demonstrated experience in project management including in donor funded project management, and monitoring and evaluation.
