    Senior Relationship Manager

    Job Purpose Statement

    • The role holder will manage a portfolio of large corporate customers; serve as their primary point of contact and financial advisor as well as prospect for and acquire new corporate customers to grow the Bank’s revenue and share of wallet for the assigned industry in line with the Bank’s strategy.
    • Customer acquisition, satisfaction, growth, retention, cross selling and prevention of business loss are critical to succeed in this role. This role will be responsible for preparation of credit applications, annual reviews and all customer related credit requests for approval.
    • Apply experience in corporate relationship management to develop, implement and update account plans for the existing portfolio within the assigned industry target market. Recommend, structure and sell solutions that address the customers’ needs, with the support from the solution/product teams in order to meet assigned goals and targets. Customer engagements and activities to be documented through call reports.
    • Proactively engage with internal support teams to ensure customer fulfilment while ensuring strict adherence with all policy requirements including proper documentation, routine portfolio monitoring, controls and exemptions management (compliance with credit, AML/KYC requirements).
    • Actively coach Assistant Relationship Managers in aid of their achievement of performance targets.
    • Relevant experience in the specific sector will be an added advantage.

    Job Specifications
    Academic:

    •  Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited university.
    •  Master’s degree in strategic management or business administration, or other similar relevant qualification.

    Professional Experience:

    • At least 8 years’ experience in Corporate Banking, 3 of which should have been in management capacity in a similar sized organisation.

    Desired work experience:

    •  Proven track record of consistently achieving a corporate department’s financial growth, with a market reputation of being a trusted advisor on matters pertaining to banking.
    •  Significant experience in Corporate Banking. Experience in products, bank operations and customer experience is highly desirable.
    •  In-depth knowledge of the local banking industry, banking products, banking services and banking regulations. Sound working knowledge and understanding of general Corporate Banking regulations and practices.
    •  Experience in Sacco Sector will be an added advantage

    Budget/ accountability:

    •  Revenue budget of Kes 300Mn p.a
    •  Net balance sheet growth of 15% p.a
    •  3 new customers p.a in line with the Corporate Customer Value Proposition): Minimum Assets Kes 400m or Liabilities of Kes 500Mn)

    Assistant Relationship Manager

    Job Purpose Statement

    • The role holder is required to achieve customer growth and retention management for a specific portfolio through collaborative account plan management with the Relationship Management teams and other stakeholders in the organisation.
    • They shall serve as the voice of customer within the Bank, ensuring that all promises made to the customer through the relationship management teams are fulfilled. The role holder shall manage the sector’s operational duties, customer queries and arising complaints to closure by closely coordinating interactions between customers and internal stakeholders. They shall be held responsible for achieving process improvement and change management within the corporate banking department.
    • Proactively engage with internal support teams to ensure customer fulfilment while ensuring strict adherence with all policy requirements including proper documentation, routine portfolio monitoring, controls and exemptions management (compliance with credit, AML/KYC requirements).
    • The role holder will be required to provide active administrative support to the sector head. They will assist RMs with cheque refers, excess requests and to prepare credit applications for further analysis and action by the RM.
    • Relevant experience in the specific sector will be an added advantage.

    Assistant Manager, Asset Finance Credit Approvals

    Job Purpose Statement

    • The holder should be a credit professional responsible for ensuring that the Credit Risk function achieves its objectives of facilitating revenue generation, quality loan, improving the credit risk control environment and delivery of business enablers within Credit Risk

    Academic:

    Desired work experience:

    •  A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Credit Risk Management, other relevant areas of practice preferably in the Banking sector out of which 1-2 years should be at credit analysis or credit risk.

    Manager, Retail Approvals

    Job Purpose Statement

    • The holder should be a credit professional responsible for ensuring that the Credit Risk function achieves its objectives of facilitating revenue generation, a quality loan portfolio, improving the credit risk control environment, and delivery of business enablers within Credit Risk. These shall involve:

    Credit Risk Assessment

    •  Assess/Analyze credit proposals and applications from Branches and the Retail Business Unit approving those within the delegated authority and submit the ones above delegated authority to the appropriate approval authority with support/necessary comments.
    •  Ensure that credit proposals and applications submitted comply with the Credit Policy/CBK prudential guidelines, ensuring that breaches are identified, mitigated and approvals obtained at appropriate levels.
    •  Evaluate and understand risks associated with individual transactions, products, securities, and borrowers including industries they operate within.
    •  Provide a high level of service to the internal customer based on accuracy, responsiveness and turnaround time.
    •  Provide periodic reports on loan book performance as requested.

    Policy Development & Review and products review

    •  Reviewing existing Retail Policies/ Procedures/ Templates/ Models & Product Programs to ensure consistency with agreed credit practices, including the CBK prudential guidelines.
    •  Ensure a consistent approach in assessing RETAIL facilities by developing/ reviewing relevant risk assessment templates for use by the Business.

    Portfolio Quality and provisions containment

    •  Ensure that portfolio quality is maintained at the prescribed level by minimizing the risk of loss/bad debts through prudent lending practices and pro-active management of Early Warning Signs on accounts.
    •  Interrogate the portfolio reports monthly on monthly basis ensuring they are within budgeted levels.
    •  Obtain appropriate and timely MIS and interpret the same for the approval team
    • decision making. This will include periodical reviews with RMs/ROs for purposes of unbanking/ securitizing or at worst classifying the accounts or down-grading where appropriate.

    Cross Selling

    •  Identify and exploit available opportunities that will translate to Business and revenue growth.
    •  Provide leads to the Business to support balance sheet and revenue growth

    Ideal Job Specifications
    Academic:

    •  A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a bias in Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Finance.
    •  An MBA will be an added advantage.

    Professional:

    •  Professional accounting qualification i.e. CPA or ACCA
    •  Qualifications in Credit Management and Analysis (those pursuing will be considered)

    Desired work experience:

    •  5 years banking experience with at least 5 years covering Credit Analysis and Credit sanctioning.
    •  Knowledge of various Bank departmental functions i.e. Corporate, Asset Finance, Consumer/SME, IB, Business Remedial Support, Operations, Trade Finance, Treasury and Credit Operations (including Securities and Credit Administration).
