    Regional Talent Engagement Manager

    Duration: 1 Year
    Reports to: Senior Director People & Culture
    Location: Kenya, Uganda or Rwanda

    About the Job:

    The Regional Talent Engagement Manager role is highly visible to a large cross section of key and senior stakeholders, many of which will be in critical leadership roles that have a significant impact on the organization’s ability to achieve key business outcomes and the overall Performance Ambition.

    The Talent Engagement Manager will be an expert in the resourcing, hiring, talent planning process, employee engagement and will be a coach and mentor to these key stakeholders.

    Top Accountabilities

    1. Manage talent planning process in partnership with key stakeholders
    2. Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for all roles across East Africa
    3. Provide market intelligence on recruitment practices, compensation and benefits trends and general recruitment related intelligence
    4. Share monthly updates on recruitment status, analytics and projections
    5. Net Promoter Score –
    6. Support and maintain/improve the diversity progressive agenda with regards to equity and inclusion
    7. Manage onboarding experience for new hires, in partnership with relevant stakeholders
    8. Dotted-line management of Shared Service employees regarding talent engagement admin
    9. Partner with functional leads/P&C Director to draft annual Resourcing Plan
    10. Partner with functional leads to determine critical, senior, and hard-to-fill (HTF) roles for pipelining purposes.
    11. Engage external top talent as successors for identified critical, senior, and HTF roles
    12. Implement best-practice entry-level programs for external talent – internships, attachments and graduate program’s
    13. Champion the Employer Brand (EVP) agenda across East Africa. Initiate and execute EVP projects through social media platforms
    14. Manage the recruitment budget on an annual basis. This includes agency fees, EVP activities, background check costs, and all other relevant talent engagement expenses
    15. Raise and manage purchase orders within the talent engagement remit
    16. Adhere to all compliance requirements within the talent engagement and broader HR space. This includes but not limited to: Role time-to-fill (TTF), necessary background checks completed per candidate, and adherence to all external communication requirements
    17. Participate in the Inclusion and Diversity, with management of the talent representation pillar as specified locally
    18. Draft and present offers to successful internal and external candidates
    19. Draft and annual updates of policies that are relevant to talent engagement and/or the broader HR function
    20. External agency relationship management and budget adherence
    21. Reviewing external providers’ SLAs on an annual basis
    22. Coaching, training, and supporting line managers in the application of talent engagement tools/updates
    23. Safeguarding. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility at VE, and it begins with me.


    Qualifications and Experience

    Required Qualifications:

    1. University/tertiary degree Experience 4-7 years’ experience in recruitment, talent management, or talent acquisition
    2. A higher diploma in Human Resources Management is an added advantage
    3. Track record of EVP activities implemented, and social media presence
    4. Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to fill vacancies timeously, cross-functional stakeholder management, and compliance.
    5. Member of IHRM
    6. Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;

    Information Technology (IT) Associate

    Duration: 1 Year
    Reports to: Information Technology Coordinator
    Location: Kitale, Kenya

    About the Job:

    Technology solutions are at the center of our work and as the team grows, we are seeking an IT Associate with a strong background in management of computing systems. He/She will play a key role in the execution of processes and procedures for the organization’s rapidly growing use of technology for internal efficiency, productivity, and program delivery. The IT Associate will be
    responsible for maintaining the organization’s current technology solutions, assets, and resources across Kenya, including mobile for data collection, training, and general technology support.
    Reporting directly to the IT Coordinator Kenya, the position holder will work with a dynamic technology solutions team to support Village Enterprise’s program operations, and also with other staff in supporting various functional teams to ensure that technology tools are functioning optimally.
    The primary role for the position is to support and maintain in-house hardware and software resources including support, troubleshooting, and training of staff in achieving the best use of these resources to increase productivity.

    Job duties and requirements are as follows:

    1. Working with end users to identify and deliver required hardware and software solutions and ensure they are operating optimally.
    2. Liaising with and providing training and support to end users and staff on hardware, software, and platforms.
    3. Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting end user devices including – but not limited to – PCs, tablets and smartphones, network devices and other peripherals in main office as well as field offices.
    4. Conducting periodic training based on needs and surveys conducted from time to time in view of enhancing staff digital literacy.
    5. Developing and maintaining an inventory of all devices and tech equipment across fieldInformation Technology(IT) Associate offices in Kenya.
    6. As required, liaising with third-party support, equipment and tech service providers and other related vendors.
    7. Safeguarding:
      1. Safeguarding at VE is everyone’s responsibility
      2. Monitor the content being stored on VE digital equipment to ensure no sexually inappropriate material is being shown to staff or program participants
      3. Ensure compliance with VE’s safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct in all programs, operations and practices
      4. Report any incident of child or adult safeguarding in program operations for appropriate action and follow up

    Qualification & Experience:

    The ideal candidate for this position should have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in an ICT- related field with at least 2 years’ working experience in ICT training, troubleshooting/support and remote device management tools.

    • A creative person, self-starter with an invention mindset and able to train others in using existing and new technologies, ensuring that field staff can independently use hardware and software resources effectively.
    • Able to proactively seek solutions to technical challenges with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrated expertise in IT equipment installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting for desktop, mobile and cloud-based application, internet, and network systems.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
