    Senior Technician - Makueni

    What is the opportunity?

    The position of Senior Technician will report to Regional Manager, based in Makueni, with guidance from the Lead Engineer.  The Senior technician is responsible for performing technical tasks within the regional office following established standards and procedures.  The person in this position must be self-driven and passion for the organization mission.  This position requires that the person resides in Makueni, Kenya, where the office is located. It also involves frequent traveling to remote locations within Kenya or surrounding countries. The position will require frequent travels to far locations.

    • Train system operators on the day to day running and operation of the systems, which includes daily monitoring of residual chlorine levels in treated water.

    • Perform assessments in communities, including water quality and quantity testing, survey measurements, and other aspects as may be required.

    What is required?

    Lead Engineer - Kakuma Turkana

    What is the opportunity?

    The position of Lead Engineer will report to the Country Director Kenya. The role will support Water Mission’s vision of providing safe water and an opportunity to share God’s love with all. This position entails providing technical guidance and support to Water Mission Kenya Engineers and Technicians following the Water Mission Kenya Country Program’s established standards and procedures.  This is a full-time position that requires residency in Turkana, Kenya. The position will require travelling to far locations in and out of the region and occasionally outside the country. The position will supervise Senior Engineers and Senior Technicians.

    What is required?

    Human Resource Specialist - Kakuma Turkana

    What is the opportunity?

    Working under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager - Kenya, the Human Resource Specialist will assist with general HR administration, Benefits administration, Recruiting, On-boarding, Off-boarding, Record Keeping, Compliance, Research, and day-to-day customer service support for staff in Kenya.     Procurement and Logistics Officer - Makueni & Kakuma Turkana

    What is the opportunity?

    The Procurement and Logistics Officer will report to the Regional Finance Officer. The role will be crucial in maintaining an efficient and reliable supply chain while adhering to WM Values, procurement policies and procedures.   It will entail sourcing, purchasing, coordinating transportation, imports or exports, logistics, and Inventory Management.     Regional Finance Officer - Makueni and Kakuma Turkana

    What is the opportunity?

    The Regional Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager.  The position will oversee the Accounting, Procurement and Logistics functions within the region, following established standards and procedures. This position requires abilities to plan, develop, organize, direct, and coordinate a range of activities related to the office.  These are two positions; one will be based in Makueni and another in Turkana. The position will supervise the location-based Procurement and Logistics Officers.

    Community Development Officer - Kakuma Turkana

    What is the opportunity?

    The Community Development Officer, WASH will report to the Community Development Manager. The general assignment for this position is to become completely versed with Water Mission oriented Community Development practices to be able to implement and support the communities we serve in a variety of settings and providing support for any aspect of the Mission of the organization where possible.

    The role will play a key function of inspiring and nurturing the communities to proactively engage the key stakeholders, including but not limited to the Safe Water Committee, government/ institutional-led agencies, among others. The overall goal is to increase awareness of the need to implement sustainable, safe water solutions that positively impact the global water crisis. The position is based in Turkana. 

    A successful Community Development Officer will:

    Senior Engineer - Makueni

    What is the opportunity?

    The Senior Engineer will report to the Lead Engineer, of Water Mission Kenya (WMK).  The position entails providing technical guidance and support to Water Mission Kenya Engineers and Technicians following the Water Mission Kenya Country Program’s established standards and procedures. This is a full-time position that requires residency in Makueni, Kenya. The position is located in Makueni and will require frequent travels to far locations in the region.

    A successful Senior Engineer will:

    • Provide onsite site visits for the purpose of quality control and instruction of field engineers and technicians in support of approved projects.
    • Champion and ensure that WMT QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control standards and procedures) is upheld by the technical team.
    • Provide technical guidance on technical and systems innovation that seeks to further our mission.
    • Layout and design of water systems including source, pumping, treatment, storage and distribution.
    • Ensure that all work, including that of the Engineer, is reviewed by another engineer as designated.
    • Perform assessments in communities, including water quality analysis and quantity testing, survey measurements and other aspects as may be required.
    • Timely Project reporting, including monthly report, Assessment report, follow up report with accompanied photographs as per specific assignment guideline.
    • Comply with all the existing and approved policies and procedures.
    • Provide disaster response support and work in other countries as needed.

    What is required?

    Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer - Kitale

    What is the opportunity?

    The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Officer (MEL) will report to the Community Development Manager in Kenya. The MEL Officer will be responsible for designing, managing, and implementing MEL activities for Water Mission programs in Kenya. The role will ensure that Water Mission Kenya achieves intended program results through strong oversight, management and implementation of performance and impact measurement and learning activities.  The position will be based in Kitale.

    Program Monitoring and Evaluation System Design

    • Assist Water Mission in establishing key performance indicators, collecting performance information, planning, and implementing evaluation programs assigned. 
    • Manage the development of performance monitoring and impact management systems for Water Mission’s projects in Kenya, including the development and validation of program impact strategy, logical frameworks, measurement indicators, and data collection tools.
    • Provide input into the design, implementation, and dissemination of evaluations, special studies, and assessments.
    • Manage the creation and review of global and country-level monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning budgets to provide adequate financial resources for evaluations, special studies, and assessments. 

    Data Collection, Compliance, and Quality Assurance

    • Manage the implementation of data flow activities for Water Mission’s projects in Kenya. 
    • Supervise all data collection activities. Work closely with Water Mission’s Community Development Officers, Project Managers, and Engineering teams to ensure timely and continuous collection of data using Water Missions data collection tools including Household, Church Congregation, and Community based Surveys.  
    • Manage development and implementation of data flow improvements for the Water Mission program in Kenya that will ensure efficient data collection and reporting and support scalability.  
    • Ensure data quality through data verification procedures, including routine data quality audits, and work with various teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes. 
    • Develop and implement training on data collection, storage, quality assurance, and retrieval processes, as needed. 

    Data Analysis & Visualization

    • Support activities to transform quantitative and qualitative data sets into compelling reports and visuals for different types of audiences. 
    • Develop and implement plans, methods, and tools for analyzing data. 
    • Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis as needed. 
    • Monitor and respond to relevant data points from the MAP - Water Mission’s innovative Monitoring and Alerting Platform 
    • Manage analytical reports to provide direct and real-time insights to inform the project design and implementation in Kenya. 
    • Develop standard protocols, templates, infographics, and procedures to ensure data analysis and visualization needs are met. 

    Research Practices

    • Implement strategies to improve Water Mission and the broader WASH sector's ability to use data to drive future program design, implementation, and decision making.  
    • Regularly develop performance reports and share program outcomes and learnings with Water Mission’s International Programs team and all key stakeholders in Kenya (UNICEF, etc.) including reports, training, briefs, commentary, and visuals. 
    • Facilitate reflection, learning, and adapting meetings regularly in the country.  
    • Work closely with the communications team to help promote Water Mission’s content including reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data. 
    • Cultivate strategic M&E relationships and alliances with partners and represent Water Mission’s M&E, data analysis, and visualization activities in public and professional circles through meetings, conferences, and presentations. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    What is required?

      • Community needs, baseline, endline, and data quality assessments.

      • Learning and adapting processes and mechanisms.
    • Domain expertise in data science, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
