    Finance and Administration Manager

    While reporting to CEO, the Finance and Administration Manager, you will be responsible for overall financial management, including budgeting and monitoring of project expenditure, financial reporting and auditing, forecasting expenditures, and maintaining and supervising project accounts, books of accounts, banking and financial operations, and all administrative work.

    You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development mangers to;

    • Supervise finance officer and office administration staff;
    • Establish effective accounting and book keeping systems and procedures and oversees accounting services;
    • Establish and implements internal controls, and administrative systems, policies and procedures to ensure that KCV’s day – to – day operational activities are efficient and effective, and are in-line with approved strategic initiatives and budgetary allocations;
    • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, donations processing and receipting, payment of invoices, payroll and bills;
    • Maintain records of income and expenditure in financial database.
    • Ensures adequate cash flow for the organization’s requirements, by monitoring funder/ investors remittances, and preparing requests for funds as needed;
    • Prepares and presents quarterly and yearly financial budgets and cash flow forecasts, and works with co – managers to actively monitor and understand budget variances;
    • Lead preparation of nalytical report on budget and expenditure on a regular basis;
    • Review monthly financial statements from the finance officer and prepare narrative reports;
    • Manage bank accounts and monitors reconciliations, transactions including wire transfers, credit cards, and keeping track of signing authorities;
    • Prepare documents and schedules for annual audit, and liaises with auditors;
    • Manage liquidity, and foreign exchange per established policies and procedures;
    • Facilitation of information flow, coordination of schedule and other logistic arrangements;
    • Coordinate procurement activities of KCV;
    • Advise and assist international staff, experts and consultants on all issues of allowances, salary advances, travel claims and other financial matters; authorize payments due for claims and services;
    • Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates and participate in budget analysis and projections as required; Maintain delivery records and make transactions; maintain inventory of project assets; prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
    • Ensure that activities and policies meet board policies and directions, criteria by funders, as well as legislative requirements in the countries in which KCV operates;
    • Recommend policies and procedures in areas encompassing finance and accounting, privacy, IT, compensation for the consideration of the Management and Board of Directors;
    • Coordinate effective development and administration of IT systems, such as databases, email, cloud filing, back-up and online communication tools;
    • Coordinate basic administrative systems for the company, including information resources, general filing, electronic filing, personnel records, contracts and leases, subscriptions, insurance.

    For this role, the qualifications include;

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field; Master’s preferred;
    • At least 7 years of experience with project financial management, including financial controls, accounting, and audit, reporting, and expense validation.
    • Ability to work across various teams with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build consensus and navigate complex operating environments, including demonstrated experience managing and supervising financial, administrative, and procurement personnel;
    • Strong analytical and computer skills, with an emphasis on budget and financial analysis;
    • Have professional qualifications in Finance (CPA, ACCAl or related field is mandatory;
    • Be a member of a professional body;
    • Experience working on a similar role within the investment industry, is an added advantage.

    Investment Officer

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As an Investment Officer, you will lead deal origination, evaluation and presentation for investment decision, and contribute to the overall vision and direction of KCV as a member of the management team. Reporting to the Investment Manager, the Investment Officer will be assigned to a specific investment/ financing segment, either early stage investment / financing or growth stage investment/ financing.

    You will;

    • Lead a team of investment Analysts and review/ evaluate investment opportunities in order to prioritize, build consensus for investments and achieve set goals;
    • Source and originate deals, coordinating investment appraisal, due diligence, investment negotiation, value creation and exit strategies;
    • Coordinate the due diligence process;
    • Prepare propositions, presentations and reports for the Investment Committee;Deal execution including valuation, structuring and negotiating terms, management of advisors through to completion;
    • Lead assess, document and coordinate delivery of pre – investment support required by selected investment pipeline.
    • Document, validate and update with the operational environment and continuously seek ways to improve and expand reliable pipeline for KCV to invest.
    • Contribute to a system of deriving knowledge and understanding of investors’ appetite relevant to KCV’s portfolio, building relationships and educating them about KCV portfolio and followon investment opportunities;
    • Identify potential investor networks within target industry verticals with the capability to invest; and
    • Establish and deepen relationships with venture capital/private equity firms and intermediaries.

    Do you have what is takes?

    For this role, the qualifications include;

    • 3 – 5 years investments experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate venturing ideally in an early stage investment fund, in a financial, commercial or fundraising role, investment professional in an impact or private equity fund;
    • Bachelors degree in Finance or related field
    • Master’s degree is an added advantage;
    • CFA certification is an added advantage;
    • Demonstrable understanding of venture investment and end to end investment cycle;
    • Over 3 years’ experience in financial analysis and financial modeling.
    • Strong analytical skills, including interpreting investment industry statements, research and operational analysis;
    • A strong business perspective, preferably with experience working in a financial institution or development financing institution.
    • Experience with investments within the focus areas of renewable energy, water, commercial forestry, agribusiness and waste management.

    Investment Manager

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    As an Investment Manager, you will lead deal origination, evaluation and presentation for investment decision, and contribute to the overall vision and direction of KCV as a member of the management team.     • Lead a high performing investments team of Investment Analysts and Investment Officers;
    • Manage all internal processes of communication and coordination regarding investment opportunities in order to prioritize, build consensus for investments and achieve set goals;
    • Source and originate investments, carrying out initial investment appraisal, due diligence, investment negotiation, value creation and exit strategies;
    • Develop and implement effective strategies that enable timely deal identification, evaluation and execution;
    • Manage the due diligence process;
    • Coordinate delivery of pre – investment support required by the selected pipeline investments.

    Finance Officer

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    While reporting to Finance and Administration Manager, the Finance Officer, you will contribute to financial planning, including preparation of budgets, project casn flow forecasts and implementing appropriate budgetary controls and periodic reports for management consideration. You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development teams to;

    • Process financial and accounting data, confirm such data is in accordance with the laid down procedures and policies, accurate, complete, adequately supported by all underlying appropriatedocuments, correctly assigned to appropriate expenses and approved budget lines;
    • Review project ledger Monthly for accuracy of postings and alignment to investment structure and budgets;
    • Review commitments In the ERP on a regular basis ensuring they are accurate;
    • Prepare bank reconciliation statements for select bank accounts on a monthly basis;
    • Implement the KCV’s procurement activities
    • Monitor cost contribution for investor/ funder, where applicable;
    • Assist in external audit coordination or the project including preparing and monitoring audit schedules as may be assigned;
    • Review and approve travel advance requests based on budgets and value for money considerations;
    • Review and approve travel and other expense surrenders;
    • Contribute to budgeting.

    Enterprise Development Officer

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    While reporting to the Enterprise Development Manager, the Enterprise Development Officer, will manage assigned portfolio investments.You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development teams to;

    • Monitor portfolio performance;
    • Manage relationships with KCV portfolio investees;
    • Provide technical assistance and business development support to the portfolio companies;
    • Organise and facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building activities for the portfolio companies;
    • Organise and conduct site visits to companies as per schedule;
    • Monitor compliance with the investment making strategy, processes, policies, procedures and agreed performance targets;
    • Manage portfolio risk in accordance with KCV Risk and Compliance Management Framework;
    • Administer the flow of portfolio management activities and monitor quality and timelines of deliverables of the portfolio activities including funds disbursements and investment exits;
    • Coordinate team activities.

    Do you have what is takes?

    For this role, the qualifications include;

    • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business administration, development studies and/or any related technical fields.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional accounting certification is an added advantage
    • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following areas: finance, agribusiness, SME finance, renewable energy, forestry, water and waste management .
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in financial and portfolio management, with the ability to review, analyse and interpret budgets, financial management systems; financial statements (including balance sheets as well as income and expenditure, and cash flow statements and audit
    • reports;
    • Demonstrate growth in key competencies and other soft skills necessary for delivery on this role.
    • Proven experience in coordinating portfolio with structured technical assistance and business development support to enterprises;

    Impact Officer

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    While reporting to the Enterprise Development Manager, the Impact Officer will be responsible for integrating ESG & Impact considerations into the investment process, portfolio management, stakeholders relations and sustainability. You will work in liaison with the investment and enterprise development teams to;

    • Conduct impact due diligence; analyse and articulate the development impacts for prospective investment deals.
    • Provide technical assistance to portfolio companies in developing their impact frameworks, planning and reporting tools.
    • Monitor over time how the performance of portfolio companies against their development impact goals and KPIs.
    • Conduct site visits to validate investee impact
    • Coordinate ESG assessments and support mainstreaming of best practice into KCV and portfolio businesses.
    • Conduct exit analysis, document lessons and feed back for improved investment evaluation and portfolio management decisions/ practice.
    • Collect data, analyse, and articulate the development impacts on portfolio level to support in improving the company’s Theory of Change and impact reporting.
    • Coordinate impact studies and assessments in investment sectors and markets.
    • Build investee’s capacity in understanding impact assumptions and calculating key impact metrics
    • Support Communications Team to develop institutional and portfolio impact stories/ reports/articles.

    Do you have what is takes?

    For this role, the qualifications include;

    • Relevant academic background with at least a bachelor’s degree in development, agricultural economics, sustainable energy, business management, social studies, engineering or statistics or related course.
    • Masters degree in business administration, project management, is an added advantage.
    • 5 - 8 years of professional experience, hopefully including responsible investments, impact measurements, evaluation processes or development finance. All knowledge of impact and climate investing terminology and tools is considered a merit.
    • A strong business perspective, preferably from a financial institution or development financing institution. Experience with investments within the focus areas of renewable energy, water, commercial forestry, agribusiness and waste management.
    • Experience with monitoring impact of climate lens, gender lens and/ or refugee lens investment.
