    Electrical Technician

    Responsibilities of the Electrical Technician :

    • Carrying out scheduled and breakdown electrical maintenance on the production machines.
    • Identification of maintenance needs per machine in order to facilitate planning and execution of maintenance tasks.

    CNC Machinist

    Nature of the Position: A two year fixed term contract.The full time work schedule for this position will consist of a 45 hr week. Should an expat to Kenya be selected a work schedule of five months duty and one months rest is required.

    Opportunity Overview:

    We are currently looking for a highly motivated and committed individual, with oil-field machineshop and premium connection (e.g. VAM) experience.

    Role Overview:

    Job holder primary responsibility is for the production of finished parts against route cards, drawings and CNC programmes, with API and proprietary connection gauging practices as delegated. Working to tight deadlines on a range of tasks on a variety of CNC machines and production lines. Decision making via collaboration with supervisor will be standard practice. Work is of a physical nature, involving lifting and carrying, albeit supported by physical aids (e.g. cranes/forklift).

    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring the following housekeeping duties are performed; all gauges are cleaned prior to and after use and before return to the gauge room, the machine is cleaned (in and out) at the end of each shift and oil levels are correct and ensure that the work area is cleaned at the end of each shift
    • Recording working hours on/off the time booking system accurately and reporting any failed bookings and clocking’s immediately to Supervisor
    • Loading CNC programmes via DNC link, ensuring it’s returned with relevant edits at the end of each job.
    • Following engineering drawings competently to controlled machining tolerance ensuring parts are produced precisely first time
    • Reporting inefficiency or failing quality standards immediately to Supervisor and commence investigation
    • Continuing to look for improved product and procedure quality and efficiencies, reporting to the supervisor prior to implementation
    • Recording and maintaining accurate quality records
    • Working closely with Leadhands and Supervisor to improve manufacturing processes
    • Ensuring the care and maintenance of all machinery, tooling and equipment used (i.e. identify faults and report them immediately to the Supervisor)
    • Signing off route cards to indicate an operation has been completed and inspected
    • Fulfilling responsibilities under the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy and so far as reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare of the team
    • Working overtime on an adhoc basis to meet operational requirements

    Qualifications/Skills and Experience:

    • Time Served, with recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (NVQ level 3) or relevant experience
    • Experienced in operating CNC machines with basic programming skills
    • Experienced in standard inspection gauges and equipment
    • Experienced in the use of API and proprietary inspection gauges
    • Competent in the ability to read Engineering drawings
    • Full and valid Kenya Driving Licence

    Maintenance Manager

    Position Function

    Responsible for improving and sustaining line performance by both owning preventative (scheduled) and reactive (non-scheduled) maintenance standards and completion. Managing tagging by encouraging/training all machine operators, prioritizing and completing maintenance tasks in a timely manner.

     Responsibilities for the Maintenance manager Jobs

    • Actively initiative preventative maintenance planning ensuring that all maintenance work is risk assessed, appropriate resource is available and utilised and all maintenance tasks are executed without conflicting requirements.
    • Minimize and eliminate where possible all losses associated with machine down time through timely resolution of machine breakdowns and driving a zero loss mind-set through engineering work order initiation and completion.

    • Proactively rectify issues that have a negative impact on quality, complete plant improvement activities prioritized by the Top Management to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
    • In liaison with the Production and Plant Productivity Managers, Initiate and sustain the Autonomous Maintenance activities (e.g. tagging, lubricating, cleaning, team meetings, step audits and board updating, elimination of contamination sources and elimination of hard to access areas).
    • Ensure good quality information on breakdown reports and any engineering work orders are raised in a timely manner.
    • Pro-actively support Good Manufacturing Practice pillar activities providing feedback and promoting application on the factory.
    • Actively participate in relevant line changes using appropriate project management tools to ensure efficient and successful project management
      In liaison with the Plant Productivity Manager, proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate and supervise all tasks relating to PLC`s (fault finding) and ensure full compliance to factory SHEQ procedures.
    • Formulate and implement maintenance procedures and ensure proactive implementation.
    • Ensure that the production plant is running efficiently at all times.
      Carry out regular inspections of the production plant and resolve issues as well as planning and overseeing all repair and installation activities.
    • Ensure that environment, health and safety procedures are complied with at all times.
      Prepare and present regular maintenance reports to the management.
    • In liaison with the Top Management, develop plans and activities necessary to attain timely commissioning of the new plant in within strict deadlines.
    • Coordinate and supervise various service providers ensuring quality of service in areas of delivery.
    • Supervise equipment installation and commissioning ensuring that all terms of contract, delivery and after service are met.
    • Develop a clear plan on transfer of knowledge to those appointed to operate the equipment, supervise the process and coach and mentor assigned staff.
    • Formulate and implement training programs and on the job mentorship for all maintenance departmental employees.
    • Develop and implement maintenance program to meet production requirements of plant availability, safety, and product quality.
    • Management of spare parts & materials stocking and usage to ensure the effective maintenance of plant.
    • Plan and carry out statutory inspections of vital plant & equipment to ensure their use is in compliance with legal requirements.
    • Liaise with quality assurance department and procurement and logistic department to ensure timely delivery of outputs.
    • Implement energy management program to attain and sustain economic/efficient usage of fuel and electricity in the plant.

    Qualifications for the Maintenance Manager Jobs:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Plant or Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum of nine (9) years’ experience in a busy manufacturing environment. Five of which should be at management level. Candidates with experience in the stationery and printing industry will have added advantage.
    • Must be a registered engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya.

    Maintenance Supervisor

    Responsibilities for the Maintenance Inspector Job:

    • To inspect equipment condition, measure & analyze trends and identify the needs for maintenance (Mechanical equipment), taking into account production constrains without compromising the safety needs of the plant.
      Contributes to the best level of performance of the plant’s equipment
    • Support plant team in ensuring employees and contractors adhere to the Health and Safety Policy as well as adherence to OSHA Act in all the operations by employees and contractors.

    • Maintain an in depth knowledge of the condition of the plant equipment on a continuous basis.

    • Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance plans as proposed by suppliers, create and update corresponding sheets.

    • Carry out specific inspections (Basic vibration analysis, Balancing and laser alignment, noise, temperature, and other Mechanical measurements).
    • Preparation of daily work schedule for PM tasks in accordance with equipment needs while utilising SAP document and monitor equipment history files.
    • Develop and maintain a predictive maintenance program (Routes) for the plant and monitor progress and effectiveness of the preventive program and initiate any changes where necessary.
    • Counter check parameter settings for all the critical equipment and new installations e.g. Alarm levels.
    • Report Inspection findings and make recommendations to the Engineering management of the preventive and corrective work or improvements to be performed based on his analysis.

    Responsibilities of the Head of Human Resource:

    • HR Planning and Recruitment:
    • Conduct and advice on staff recruitment, manpower and succession planning. Exercise a proactive control over temporary staffing and ensure optimal utilization of manpower resources.
    • Identifies and meets the company’s human resourcing needs by applying the best methods to source for staff in order to ensure continued business success.
    • In liaison with the Departmental and Section Heads, design and implement a KPI system to drive productivity of the employees.
    • In liaison with the Departmental and Section Heads, compiling and ensuring that all Job Descriptions are up to date at all times and have been fully implemented as a benchmark for performance measurement.
    • Managing the Time & Attendance System:
    • Should ensure that the time and attendance system is updated at all times.
    • Undertake shift planning and scheduling on the system.
    • Extract daily, weekly, monthly statistics and prepare reports for the respective managers / section heads.
    • Training and Development:
    • Employee Discipline:
    • Implement policies and measures to address Absenteeism.
    • Implement policies and measures to manage any discipline related issues that may arise from time to time and
    • resolving the same as per the provisions of the labour laws.
    • Experience:
    • Ten (10) years relevant experience in a HR management position within a similar working environment
    • dealing with a staff force of over 300 people

    Skills and Certification:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or other relevant field;
    • A Master degree will be an added advantage. Formal training in the Labour Laws of Kenya.
    • Possess effective communication, presentation, leadership and relationship building skills;
    • Superior employee relations skills -an active listener, and solution provider Demonstrate the passion for service delivery Highly
    • Computer literate with Expertise in Microsoft office and working with Time & Attendance Systems/Software.

    Rose Packhouse Manager

    Purpose/ Objective:

    • Overall management of packhouse, production and technical operations
    • Managing workforce in a dynamic and multicultural environment Recruit, train, and maintain competent production/Quality Assurance staff Ensuring that all staff trainings are done and that key personnel have the requisite skills and competency required for the job.
    • Monitoring of labor efficiency and overtime authorization for the pack house staff. Planning and organizing for workers transport and liaising with the Transport manager on the same
    • Conducting regular worker analysis on performance and making motivational recommendations Handling of all disciplinary cases on site and ensuring harmony and good relationship between staff Site Responsible for overall operations in the pack house.
    • Ensuring that budgets and targets are met. Run an effective preventative maintenance system to preserve the integrity of the Packhouse fabric and proper functions of all machinery and equipment.
    • Be part of the site HACCP team Monitoring the utilization of Packaging materials and labels with a bid of reducing/minimizing wastages
    • Keeping stocks of equipment, crates and staff uniforms and ensure that proper controls and utilization is observed Coordinating the maintenance/servicing of all machinery and equipment on site Coordinating all preparations for supermarket audits and customer visits along with the Technical manager.
    • Ensures that all specified pack house records are up to date and signed off.
    • Health and Safety – you will ensure that highest standards of health and safety for all workers under you are maintained.
    • Product Ensuring that all products dispatched for the export market meet the specified customer specifications in terms of safety, quality and
    • Legality Overall responsibility for coordination of raw material procurement, utilization, dumping and record keeping for such.
    • Plan and execute the daily pack and notify the Commercial Manager of any issues that may affect achievement of the daily pack.
    • Ensuring that production is run such that window period is provided after every shift for cleaning.
    • Effective communication with the sales team on stock levels, labour numbers, pack plan, outload volume and Packhouse packing capacity.
    • In charge of daily order planning and communication with the head office on orders and all export Ensuring that Truck departure from the sites both produce and shipment trucks are on schedule.
    • Actively participate /coordinate in any activities and sue diligence audits in light with the HACCP plan and as an active member of the HACCP team.

    Qualifications of the Packhouse Manager:

    • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field.
    • Must have minimum 5 Years of experience.
    • Good Managerial/leadership and Organizational Skills.
    • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Relationship Skills.
    • Good Numerical Skills. Team Player Able to work independently.
    • Knowledge of Customer Market standards. Measure of performance:
    • Effective communication with all departments in the company.
    • Accurate and timely reports.
    • Maintenance of the required processes standards all through Ensure Packhouse audits and customer visits are conducted professionally and successfully.

    Forklift Operator

    Key Strategic Deliverables

    • Offloading loaded and empty containers from wagon and loading onto trucks
    • Offloading empty and loaded containers from trucks onto wagons
    • Shifting of loaded and empty containers/steel products on a truck
    • Transferring of containers/steel products from one truck to another
    • Stacking of loaded and empty containers/steel products in the yard
    • Responsible for general mechanical check-up of the reach stacker
    • Report/record any defects on the reach stacker/forklift to the Branch Manager
    • Checking Fuel balances on the reach stacker/forklift and seeking refills.
    • Counter check any damage on container/steel products and report to the Manager
    • Report when service is due or repairs needed
    • Keeping records on what is being offloaded from trucks and loaded onto wagons
    • Any other duty assigned

     

    Academic and Professional Qualifications

     

    • O level Certificate with minimum of D+
    • Valid Driving Licence with special stamp for plant or forklift
    • Certificate of good conduct
    • Mechanical Training [added advantage]

    Duties of the Graphic Designer

    • To prepare art work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials.
    • To plan concept by studying information and materials.
    • To illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
    • To obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
    • To prepare finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
    • To prepare the final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art
    • To undertake projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
