    Detailed Description

     

    Leases and Agreements

     

    • To assist in the tracking, review and file management of
    • Interconnection agreements for national, IDD and VoIP
    • Roaming and signalling contracts
    • International carrier agreements
    • Co-location and facility sharing agreements;
    • National capacity leases
    • Co-location and Site Share Support
    • Get bills monthly per site from respective operators
    • Reconcile on a monthly basis the bills against installed equipment per operator.
    • To collect data from approved drawings as guided by the technical contact in the department.
    • Co-ordinate issuance of work orders to allow third party works on our sites
    • Co-ordinate issuance of keys for our sites for purposes of installation of third party equipment
    • Research and Analytical Support
    • To conduct and document in detail research findings on issues/topics of interest to the department.
    • Compile and analyse regulatory and public policy topics of interest to inform decision making around those topics.
    • Track trends in regulatory issues, and benchmark Safaricom’s position with this.
    • Prepare detailed opinions on various regulatory issues, share and develop best practice methods.

     

    Qualifications for the Contractor Regulatory and Public Policy

     

    • Degree in Business Related field
    • Good communication skills (written & spoken English)

    IP Planning and Optimisation Engineer

    Detailed Description

     

    • To perform IP & Transmission Planning function related to Transport Infrastructure and Services;
    • To update and maintain network documentation;
    • To liaise with network engineering and Enterprise teams for new products and services;
    • To allocate Network resources which include IP Addressing, port and vlan allocation etc. and database upkeep;
    • To assist enterprise pre-sales teams with high level solution design for Enterprise Services on IP MBB;
    • To perform testing of new IP and Metro-E product & services end-to-end and providing templates to Support and Configuration teams for configuration of infrastructure;
    • To identify infrastructure and network expansion requirements as input to network capacity planning and upgrading of infrastructure;
    • To assist Operations/NOC with faultfinding of network related problems if required;
    • To optimize the existing network infrastructure to improve network quality and meet expected service level agreements;
    • To implement the IP/MPLS and Metro-E Network Architecture and logic diagrams using low-level design recommendations to optimize planning, eliminate security risks & prevent security breaches;
    • To provide input for generation of reports required by the Transmission & IP Planning Manager;
    • To adhere to strict timelines of Core Infrastructure and Services Planning, Implementation, Network Upgrade, etc;
    • To participate in routine network audits to ensure

     

    Qualifications for the IP Planning and Optimisation Engineer Job

     

    • Degree in ICT / Engineering or any other technology related field;
    • Work experience of 5-6 years preferably in a ICT service provider environment;
    • Working knowledge of IP Planning, Monitoring and Optimisation tools
    • Knowledge/ Work experience in IP,MPLS & transmission networks is required;
    • Familiarity with GPON,FTTH, IP RAN, RAN technologies such as 2g/3g/LTE is an added advantage;
    • Ability to work well within a highly motivated team and coordinate with other cross-functional teams to achieve job objectives;
    • Good appreciation of Linux and Oracle systems
    • Cisco or Huawei (CCNP, CCIE, CCDP, CCIP, HCNP,HCIE) networking professional level certifications are desired.
