    Security Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement efficient and effective security systems for the company in close liaison with the Head of HR & Administration.
    • To be responsible for the company’s fire fighting system/ team, and ensure that all fire fighting equipment are kept in optimum working condition in close liaison with the Head of Production.
    • Plan and effectively supervise the work of both the Company’s and any hired security guards.
    • Carry out security investigations in the event of loss of company property or lapse of security as instructed from time to time by the Head of HR & Administration.
    • Maintain security records and examine the gate registers to monitor traffic flow into and out of the company premises.
    • Ensure safe custody of all company assets within company premises.
    • Provide on-the-job training for the company’s security guards.
    • Prepare monthly security reports.
    • Keep abreast of internal operations that impact service delivery to assigned customers so as to anticipate service challenges and manage these in a proactive manner.

    Job Qualifications

    • Hold a KCSE Certificate with a minimum score of C- (Minus)
    • At least three (3) years’ working experience in a reputable security firm or disciplined force at the rank of sergeant or above.
    • A valid certificate of Good Conduct
    • A valid certificate in First Aid from a recognized organization
    • Proficiency in computer applications.
    • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

    System Administrator

    Job Purpose

    The job holder will be responsible for reviewing, analysing and occasionally modifying systems including encoding, testing, debugging, installation and support of new and existing application systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop new applications by analysing user requirements, constructing workflows & diagrams, studying design capabilities and writing specifications.
    • Spearhead the design and development of database structures to meet the business requirements and anticipated technological innovations.
    • Devise, develop and implement disaster recovery procedures for all systems running in the organization.
    • Plan and execute database IT Security measures, performance monitoring and maintenance procedures.
    • Monitor and manage system bugs and communicate with system vendors on change requests, updates and support requests.
    • Document and communicate complex software problems that are beyond internal support to relevant software vendors for resolution and patches.
    • Investigate and resolve ERP functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting existing systems.
    • Review the current manual processes with the view of developing relevant applications or integrating stand-alone systems to the main ERP.
    • Ensure databases are always available to users by implementing high availability and disaster recovery options.
    • Enhance existing and developing new ERP reports to aid in critical business decisions and for performance review.
    • Analyse data contained in all systems and identify any data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems as well as providing SQL administration to live and test environments.
    • Spearhead business intelligence efforts by identifying the correct reporting system to generate effective dashboard reports and alerts.
    • Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned by the ICT Manager within the scope of the position.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, ICT, Engineering or related fields.
    • At least Six (6) years’ experience in a busy IT environment with strong background in programming and systems development.
    • Possession of Microsoft Certified Solution developer.Net (MCSD.Net)
    • Practical knowledge and programming of Microsoft SQL Databases and Crystal Reports.
    • Fully familiar with Microsoft technologies with special emphasis on Web/Internet programming using ASP.net/IIS, Visual BASIC as front-end development tools.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or later version as back-end databases.
    • Proficiency in enterprise reporting tools including Crystal Report.

    Investment Manager

    Job Purpose

    DEG Regional Office Nairobi is seeking to recruit an Investment Manager for its Corporate and Funds Risk Capital (CF) department to complement an existing team of professionals in the East Africa regional office and to support DEG’s business development and portfolio work in the region.

    Key Responsibilities

    You will be based at our Nairobi Representative Office (local contract with the DEG office) and your primary focus will be the Corporate and Funds Risk Capital transactions focusing on the East African region; however, you will also work closely/support with the CF team in Accra, Johannesburg and Cologne.     Job Qualifications

    • Masters/Bachelors degree in Business administration or Finance,
    • CFA qualification is an added advantage.
    • 4 – 10 years’ experience in the international investment business in a venture capital/private equity fund, or in an investment or development bank, ideally focused on private equity transactions
    • Solid experience in financial analysis and skills in financial modeling
    • Strong project management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French would give you an advantage
    • Strong computer skills especially in Ms Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team and deliver high quality of work within deadlines to meet team objectives
    • Ability to work independently in a complex business environment
    • Willingness to frequently travel within Africa and occasionally to DEG Headquarters in Germany.

    Financial Controller

    Job Purpose

    They are looking to fill the role of the Financial Controller who will take charge of the financial systems in the organization and maintain and manage effective financial accounting controls ensuring accurate cash-flow management and compliance to international accounting standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare annual and quarterly budgets; forecast requirements and expenditures; carry out periodic variance analysis and propose corrective actions.
    • Develop and implement systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.
    • Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations.
    • Manage supplier’s payments and follow up on collection of receivables.
    • Process monthly and end year accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure records.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
    • Review cash-flow, balance sheet items and forecasts for accuracy, reasonableness and completeness.
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, controls, policies and principles.
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions including payroll, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax
    • Generate and compile management accounts to facilitate decision making.
    • Contribute accounting information to the annual audit process and ensure statutory accounts are produced within the required deadlines.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field from a recognized university;
    • Professional accounting qualification i.e. Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA or equivalent;
    • Membership of an internationally recognized accounting professional body
    • Five or more years of relevant experience in management
    • Demonstrated experience of using Pastel
    • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to direct and supervise a team
    • Advanced computer skills on Excel
    • Able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
