    Business Development Manager

    Ref : ARS/C/2017-06
    Status : Regular

    Reporting to GM Corporate Business Lines, the job holder will among other tasks seek new business and ensure support to growth of general insurance business (ARS).

    Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager Job

    • Work with the GM to oversee revenue generation of new business
    • Ensure set financial targets for new business in the department are achieved
    • Facilitate development, implement and achieve department business plan as set out in the ARS Division business plan.
    • Development new product concepts and redesign existing products for review by ARS technical team and oversee product launch in conjunction with relevant departments.
    • Facilitate and conduct product presentations to respective stakeholders.
    • Manage, train and mentor department staff to achieve high levels of motivation and productivity.

    Business Development Manager Job Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
    • over five (5) year experience in a busy insurance brokerage firm of which three (3) years should be gained from business development role in corporate business broking.

    • or evidence of significant progress towards full certification, will have added advantage

    Underwriting Manager (AG6)

    Ref : MMC/006/2017
    Status : Regular

    The underwriting manager will be responsible for implementation of medical underwriting strategy to achieve profitability and specific project goals in line with overall business objectives.

    Underwriting Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Set up and maintain MMC schemes, including all medical administration systems
    • Manage the membership registration process for all MMC schemes and on all administration platforms
    • Invoice the scheme partners and clients on premiums and administration costs
    • Ensure quality of data is maintained across all administration platforms, spearhead regular clean ups to ensure data quality
    • Resolve member related issues that touch on benefits, registration and access
    • Ensure member deletions, upgrades and member movements are affected on the databases
    • Maintain different policy documentation for the medical managed care schemes
    • Ensure proper filing and documentation for all MMC application forms, paid claims and general documentation
    • Ensure all received application forms are underwritten and underwriting decisions made and effected
    • Manage the card distribution process
    • Ensure scheme underwriters receive premium due to them in a timely and efficient manner
    • Manage, train and mentor department staff to achieve high levels of motivation and productivity.

    Qualifications for the Underwriting Manager Job

    • The ideal candidate should have a degree in a Business related field with five years’ experience in insurance industry with a proven track record.
    • Diploma in AIIK or ACCI
    • Excellent proven Microsoft Excel skills
    • Report preparation skills

    • Oversee the renewal, retention of existing business, timely review and renewal meetings to ensure no loss of existing business, account retention through maintaining client relations;

    • Oversee the follow up on referrals or leads;

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business with at least 5 years’ experience in business development.
    • Enthusiastic and highly motivated person with the ability to interact at all levels;
    • Good understanding of the insurance market and products;
    • Excellent communication and negotiating skills with both clients and insurers.
    • Possess excellent time management skills
