    HVAC Technician

    Job description

    Reporting to the Plant Room Supervisor, the HVAC Technician’s main function is to ensure effective maintenance and operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration plant and equipment of the hotel. The incumbent will always ensure all duties and responsibilities are done in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out preventive maintenance as scheduled, inspections, repair works and installation
    • Ensure effective and efficient operation of HVAC
    • Implementation of power saving measures
    • Ensure safety of equipment and environment
    • Ensure effective operation of VRVs, A.H.U, Cold rooms, Refrigerators, F.C.U etc under the section
    • Ensure that all machines in operation conform to safety regulations as per Factories Act
    • Repair and / or adjust all types of electrical and HVAC equipment and cosmetic items
    • Ensure quality workmanship is observed
    • Devise ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to the Engineering Management
    • Emergencies - be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guest and employees, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. To act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status
    • Optimize maintenance costs
    • Accident prevention and safety
    • Train and instruct other members of the staff
    • Comply with all Kempinski company policies
    • Any other duties that may be delegated by the management through the Chief Engineer or his designate

    Desired Skills & Qualifications

    • High School or secondary diploma required
    • Diploma in AC and Refrigeration
    • 1-2 Years experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC systems in buildings and facilities.
    • Experience with repair and maintenance of cold rooms, freezers and VRV's
    • Experience in operation of BMS
    • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer literacy
    • Good aptitude in trouble shooting
    • Quick at problem resolution
    • Engineering Administration system
    • Able to work in a fast paced environment and can multitask
    • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure

    Plumber

    Job description

    Incumbents maintain, troubleshoot, and test plumbing systems, assemble, install and repair pumps, pipes, fittings, and fixtures, cut, thread and weld pipes, assemble and install valves, pipe fitting and pipes, inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations, inspect related work performed by contractors, estimate cost, time and materials for plumbing projects, participate in the maintenance, maintain and service tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carry out scheduled inspection on all plumbing works rounds.
    • To assist on Periodic inspection of conditions in technical rooms
    • Responsible for installation & service ability of all engineering equipment systems.
    • Assist in Checking of the plumbing workshop inventories.
    • To ensure recording of daily system parameters.
    • Maintains repairs and installs plumbing and related fixtures and components.
    • Repairs piping of various size and type.
    • Checks safety equipment and replaces components such as washers, gaskets, and filters.
    • Inspects, repairs, or replaces pumps, valves and boiler systems, including swimming pool pumps.
    • Maintains and adjusts chemical treatment controls for the pool.
    • Keep low pressure hot water heating boiler log
    • Inspects and tests fire sprinkler system and booster pumps; prepares documentation for compliance.
    • Monitors and adjusts building automation systems.
    • Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to Plumbing Code Requirements and
    • Reports back to supervisor.
    • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction.

    Desired Skills & Qualifications

    • High School or secondary diploma required
    • Trade test three qualifications.
    • 1-2 Years experience in plumbing and maintenance
    • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
    • Good verbal and written communication skills

    Shift Engineer

    Job description

    Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer/Director of Engineering.The incumbent will be required to support all other operating department through supplying services as per guesrt requests and required by the entire operation and maintaining equipment. The incumbent in this position is responsible to coordinate and manage the day to day maintenance and up keep of the hotel as it pertains to Engineering, under the direction of the Director of Engineering.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide immediate attention to any guest request; Direct liaison with all other operating departments.
    • Respond and follow up to guest calls, requests and emergency calls.
    • Inspect and ensure smooth operation of mechanical and electrical systems in the hotel such as HVAC, swimming pools, and domestic water systems.
    • Complete preventative maintenance work orders as assigned.
    • Identify and report problems that require follow-up.
    • Maintains accurate log and maintenance records (equipment and shift records).
    • Identify building load conditions (heating and cooling) and schedule the operation of equipment efficiently.
    • Schedule energy management system to optimize energy savings (DDC).
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    • Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.

    Desired Skills & Qualifications

    • One to two (1-2) years’ previous maintenance experience (hotel experience a Must).
    • Bachelor degree from an accredited university, college an asset or equivalent level of experience.
    • Ability to work in cramped spaces and heights; able to lift/ move heavy equipment and objects.
    • Knowledge of safety and emergency policies and procedures.
    • Automation system (DDC) experience required, able to analyze and adjust system controls.
    • Competent in the use of hand and power tools; Competent in the use of engineering instruments and testers.
    • Ability to weld and solder an asset.
    • Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Computer Skills - Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite.
