    Job Details

    • Driving a vehicle as authorized;
    • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure etc.;

    Reporting to the CEO, the Registrar will be responsible for the registration of MSE Associations and umbrella organizations.

    • Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court;

    Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Development Technology and Innovation.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities will entail:- Promoting the development and implementation of incubation and innovation programmes and projects; Promotion of value addition in key priority sectors; Promotion of the development of MSE tooling and machining; Facilitation of the development of technical, entrepreneurial and managerial skills for the MSE sector and provision of information to assist in arbitration and settlement of Industrial Property Rights and disputes; Creation and promotion of market linkages for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs); Facilitation of access to short, medium and long term financing for MSMEs; Initiation and promotion of new MSE investments; Initiation and promotion of MSE programmes and projects; Facilitation of the revitalization of underperforming Jua Kali sectors; Provision of support and promotion of indigenous entrepreneurs; and Facilitation of franchising and subcontracting between and among MSMEs and large industries.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

    • Served for a cumulative period of eight (8) years, three of which must be in the grade of Industrial/Enterprise Development Officer in the Public Service or in a comparable and relevant position;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mathematics, Biological/Physical Sciences, Statistics, Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Electronics, Metallurgy, Aeronautical, Agricultural), Agriculture, Animal Sciences, Food technology, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Textile Technology, Production Technology.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve driving a vehicle as authorized; carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure etc.; detecting and' reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems; maintenance of work tickets for vehicle(s) assigned; ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road; overseeing safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

    Qualifications and Skills

    For appointment to this position an officer must have;-

    • served in the grade of Driver II for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • a valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) and valid for any of the class(es) of vehicle(s) the officer is required to drive;
    • passed Occupational Trade Test II for Drivers;
    • Certificate in Defensive Driving from the Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • attended a Refresher Course for drivers lasting not less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized. Institution;
    • a valid Certificate of Police Clearance from the Kenya 'Police;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:- supervising staff in the unit; initiating preparation of estimates of expenditure on supplies and services; preparing procurement plans and inventory control; reviewing up-dating, interpreting and implementing existing supply chain regulations, procedures and systems; sourcing for suppliers; estimating value of goods and services by soliciting for multiple quotations from reliable and competitive suppliers in line with prescribed regulations; coordinating and participating in procurement negotiations with suppliers and vendors; preparing purchase orders and obtaining authorized signatures; monitoring and evaluating the delivery and quality of approved supplies; assisting in preparation of MSEA strategic plans; receiving goods and supplies and verify information on delivery notes and supply requisitions in order to establish the accuracy of orders; coordinating and validating disposal of unserviceable stores; and implementing e-procurement strategies.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

    • Served in the grade of Senior Supply Chain Management Officer or in a comparable position in public/private sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Masters degree in any of the following disciplines:- Supply Chain Management, Commerce (Supplies Management option), Procurement or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
    • Membership to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies, Kenya Institute of Supplies Management or any other recognized institution;
    • Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution; and
    • Demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
