Fitter/Welder at Kenya Tea Development Agency (MS) Ltd

Reporting to the Foreman Fabrications, the successful candidate will be responsible for effective fitting and welding at the workshop;

Fitter/Welder Job Responsibilities

• Preparing parts to be welded by laying out, positioning, securing and assembling as per design specifications;
• Tackwelding or welding components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc or other welding equipment;
• Cutting of work pieces using power saws, band saws, hand shears, Guillotine etc.;
• Fabricating welding and assembly fixtures on a need basis;
• Welding components in flat, vertical or overhead position;
• Removing of rough spots, slugs using portable grinders, files or scrapers;
• Carrying out high quality welds and fittings as per specifications;
• Supervising casual welders who are hired for various production cycles.
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications for the Fitter/Welder Job

• Craft artisan grade III
• Certified Welder
• Three (3) years of experience
• Ability to work with various welding equipment e.g. MIG, TIG, Spot welding
• Knowledge of various welding rods solders and filler wires for different materials and applications.
• Ability to interpret drawings and welding symbols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
