Catering Steward at Strathmore University

Basic job summary:

To be responsible for ensuring that the cafeteria sitting area and storage areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic way throughout the day.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Clean tables in the cafeteria and clean any spillage to ensure the cafeteria is clean and orderly throughout the day
2. Understand guest service needs
3. Replenish water provided for the customers
4. Clean and arrange trays used by the customers
5. Clean and re-fill the fridges used for storing yoghurts, soda and Juices
6. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that is pleasant
7. Perform additional duties as requested by the chef
8. Adapt to meet priority changes of work flow or requirement

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education

Experience:

• At least 2 years in banqueting services in a dynamic environment
