Logistics Manager at New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited

Job Purpose

Reports to Head of Logistics & Inventory, Logistics Manger will be responsible for fleet management at New KCC.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate the movement of milk within the supply chain i.e. from the farmer collection points, to the cooling plants, to the factories and to the depots
2. Monitor the utilization of company owned vehicles and hired transport to ensure proper use.
3. Administration of the transportation resources (vehicles, drivers, fuel)
4. Planning and ensuring that the most efficient route is used to minimize transportation costs.
5. Liaising with the Stores and Sales departments to transport products between the depots and the market as and when required.
6. Liaise with the workshop on vehicle service records, schedules for maintenance repairs, and insurance.
7. Efficiently manage of the inter-creamery transfer of products
8. Person specifications
9. At least Eight (8) years’ work experience in supply chain management with at least four (4) years relevant experience in supervisory level in a comparable organization.
10. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or business-related field.
11. Master’s Degree in related field is an added advantage.
12. Professional qualification such as CIPS, or Diploma in supply Chain Management.
13. Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks cumulative.
14. Working knowledge of an ERP system
