    Global Engagement Director

    Role Purpose:

    Save the Children is developing an ambitious Global Communications, Brand and Marketing Framework to inform and shift how the movement works together to ensure that our communications and engagement is focussed on impact for children.

    The Director will lead our ambitious plans for developing our global brand, global digital engagement, and our integrated marketing approach to support our organisational strategy; helping to accelerate growth, strengthen our brand and increase audience engagement.

    The Director will work closely with the Global Communications Director and Fundraising Hub Director to ensure alignment on priorities, promote an integrated workplan and foster collaboration across their teams. Together they will provide strategic leadership and direction to a core, globally disbursed team at Save the Children International (SCI), which works across the Save the Children Association (SCA) to strengthen the movement’s engagement work, best practice and collaboration with members and country offices.

    The post holder is an active member of the Senior Management Teams of the Resource Mobilisation, Communication & Engagement (RMCE), a part of the broader SCI/SCA Extended Senior Leadership Team, and an active participant representing global communications interests into multiple Governance Groups, while also providing specific updates to the SCI/SCA CEO and the global board(s) as needed.

    Specifically the Director will:

    • Lead on the planning and coordination of our annual narrative; ensuring we deliver world class, audience-centred activations for themes, campaigns and key moments where the global federation can unite to create more impact; accelerating both our financial and non-financial support.
    • Oversee and lead our new ambitious Global Digital Engagement strategy that aims to identify and mobilise global audiences to drive growth, deepen audience engagement and improve efficiencies across our channels.
    • Provide crucial leadership to ensure our global audience insight, engagement funnel and our measurement framework are embedded and effectively utilised.
    • Lead our global brand strategy, to build levels of awareness, familiarity, trust and hard preference among our audiences.
    • Create a centre of excellence within the federation; supporting members with best practice approaches on brand; marketing integration, audience-centricity and digital engagement.

    This role will be responsible for leading global change and transforming the way we work, which will require leadership and change management skills along with strong cross collaboration throughout our global federated organisation to bring greater alignment in our external engagement. This will involve working closely with peers in the extended leadership team as well as decision makers across the global federation.

    They will also drive excellence in creative engagement, with story telling at its heart, and will be accountable for ensuring this work is informed by our brand, audience insight and ongoing impact monitoring.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Proven integrated marketing leadership at a senior level, in a complex, global organisation, with the demonstrable ability to work in a networked organisation, influencing others through ‘soft power’.
    • Proven success in developing and implementing integrated marketing approaches that deliver increased income, brand engagement and campaign impact.
    • Extensive experience in leading digital strategies and impactful digital engagement approaches which can drive global fundraising and campaigns efforts.
    • Experience of leading audience insight work and insight informed approaches to engagement, including consistent testing / analysis to inform first-class integrated supporter experiences across fundraising, engagement and campaigns.
    • Experience in leading global brand strategies to deliver audience-centred integrated engagement approaches that enable cut through and build brand equity.
    • External environment and sector understanding: being able to advise senior leaders on the impact of decisions made.
    • Change management leader with proven ability to build teams.
    • A track record of successful project management in a complex organisation, with a proven ability to forge consensus and drive action.
    • Ability to lead teams, providing professional direction, inspiration, high standards of performance and championing standards and developing team members.
    • Experience of building personal networks at senior levels, resulting in improved engagement.
    • Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.
    • Significant experience of managing staff with different backgrounds and expertise and building and developing their performance.
    • Willingness to travel overseas for up of 15% of the time.

    Director, Global Fundraising Hub

    Role Purpose:

    Save the Children has developed an ambitious Global Funding Framework (GFF) to inform and shift how the movement works together to drive greater funding impact for children. The Global Fundraising Hub Director provides the strategic leadership and direction to a core, globally disbursed team at Save the Children International (SCI), which works across the Save the Children Association (SCA) to grow the movement’s private sector funding through the promotion of best practice, collective action, collaboration, and mutual accountability.

    As one of the top priorities of the organization, growing a diversified, sustainable private sector income portfolio is critical to achieving our strategic ambition for children, and success in this area will be dependent on delivering brilliant basics throughout our fundraising portfolio, supporting marketing integration efforts while also promoting innovation in our fundraising programmes.

    The Communications Director, Engagement Director and Fundraising Hub Director will work closely together to ensure alignment on priorities, promote an integrated workplan and foster collaboration across their teams with a particular focus on how we continue to strengthen ways of working with members and country offices.

    The Director provides global leadership and works with Save the Children Member Fundraising and Marketing Directors to deliver the Global Funding Framework, with a particular focus on driving our individual giving portfolio. Using market intelligence, qualitative and quantitative research, trend analysis and benchmarking they will develop strategies for sharing best practice and organisational learning to deliver our financial targets and to increase our global supporter base.

    The Global Fundraising Hub Director will overseeing the Global Fundraising Hub including the strategy and planning function, the market development and individual giving teams (acquisition and donor development programs) and lead critical global projects as required. 

    This role will also be responsible for helping ensure strong collaboration with both the corporate partnership and philanthropy team to ensure that we are developing a strong, aligned approach to stewarding our individual donors and with the Programme Funding and Institutional Partnership Director on the development of the Global Funding Framework to ensure a holistic view of our funding portfolio.

    This role will require leadership and change management skills and strong cross collaboration throughout our global federated organisation to bring greater alignment around our global funding, communications, and engagement work. This will involve working closely with peers in the extended leadership team including the Brand, Marketing and Digital Director and Communications Director to help drive our integrated marketing work.

    The Global Fundraising Hub Director will act as co-chair of the Fundraising and Marketing Steering Group, which oversees and drive our global private sector work across the membership.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    • Proven leadership at a senior international level, in a multi-cultural context, and ability to work in a networked organisation, influencing others through ‘soft power’.Possess a track record of developing and implementing a global fundraising strategy and a demonstrated ability to identify the necessary steps to deliver to ambitious goals and significantly increase growth in income for global organizations.
    • Must have experience working in more than one market, including participating as a Fundraising Leader, ideally as Fundraising Director, in a networked international global organization.
    • Deep understanding of, and capability in, all areas of fundraising from the private sector with strong background in developing and building mass market (high volume donor acquisition and development and legacies). Demonstrated ability to engage with senior fundraisers at a national level providing strategic inputs to help them drive growth all areas of income.
    • Experience at a leadership level of creating large scale and impactful fundraising appeals to deliver exceptional income at times of humanitarian crisis.
    • Demonstrable experience in the areas of strategy development and implementation, budgeting and investment as well as market research and business intelligence.
    • Highly developed data analysis and budgeting skills, with the ability to interrogate data to make strategic decisions and develop long term business plans.
    • External orientation and business understanding: being able to advise senior leaders on the impact of decisions made bringing to bear the context of the global private sector funding environment.
    • Experience of leading a high performing team to deliver to ambitious targets whilst also maintaining high levels of staff well being.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with the gravitas to inspire and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated experience and capability of leading, facilitating and influencing change and the delivery of major projects.

    IT Project Manager

    Role Purpose:

    Save the Children is evolving its organisational structure in order to stay true to its mission, vision and values, whilst being able to withstand external pressures – be those geo-political demands; increasing stakeholder expectations; challenging funding environments; reduced access to funding; or declining trust in large INGOs. This is driven through our ambitious transformation agenda. 

    Our focus is on championing the rights and interests of children worldwide, putting the most vulnerable children first and to do this we need to ensure we effectively connect with the children and families we support as well as the communities and partners we work. 

    Over the past 6 years, Save the Children has undertaken significant transformation to ensure alignment in our delivery and efficiency in our processes which was critical following Save the Children International being established. As we move towards finalising delivery of this critical set of initiatives, we now need to look to the future and focus on how we continue to ensure focus on our Ambition 2030 and in particular unlock the potential of the enablers digital, data and localisation for children. This next period of change will be managed via the Next Generation Transformation Programme delivered by our Transformation Delivery Department . The Programme is focused on ensuring three key enablers digital, data and localisation will grow the effectiveness of engagement with supporters, delivery of programmes for children and driving efficiencies in our operations

    The Senior Project Manager role will sit in one of our Next Generation Transformation projects or initiatives. The role holder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the required project and portfolio management reporting including risk and issues logs, dependencies, status updates etc. In addition, they will manage the Project Management deliverables as part of the defined Save the Children Project Lifecycle examples including the Project and Assurance Plan. A core part of the team’s delivery will be through agile product management, and the role holder will act as Scrum Master and facilitate agile ceremonies for our product development workstream. The role will also be required to work closely with the Business Analyst, Member Project Teams, Change teams and External Vendors. The Senior Project Manager will work with the relevant Global Change Manager to manage the relationship with our Member and Country Offices as well as work with an international team of IT staff and subject matter experts to drive our delivery and deployment forward.

    The Senior Project Manager will be part of thriving project and change management community within our Transformation Delivery department. This department is responsible for managing the change management activities and deployment of projects into 60 Country and Regional offices and 29 Member organisations.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential:

    • Previous experience of delivering projects focused on the transformation journey on one of the key enablers mentioned; digital, data or localisation or alternatively of driving wider efficiencies in an operational or wider IT space
    • Extensive track record of successfully managing projects and programmes with multi-location roll outs and accountability for both technology configuration and deployment, integration, business process, change and infrastructure activities
    • Experience in establishing and embedding Agile ways of working to deliver successful projects
    • Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of programme and projects practices and standards (SCRUM, and others like Prince2, etc.)
    • Proficient demonstrable skills in managing and reporting on a project in compliance with a project delivery methodology in conjunction with a PMO function
    • Proven ability to deliver projects on time / on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance 
    • Strong understanding of scope and change management
    • Comprehensive management and influencing skills with experience of working with senior level executives
    • Ability to resolve issues swiftly and decisively whilst safeguarding standards and procedures
    • Strong team leadership with the ability to motivate and mobilise individuals outside their reporting line
    • Strong business requirements collection, and process/workflow analysis skills including understanding of traceability
    • Excellent communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation
    • Able to demonstrate instances of initiatives that have delivered organisational benefits
    • Cultural awareness required for international delivery
    • Experience in managing offshore project team members
    • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
    • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
    • Ability to effectively prioritise work and agree and communicate priorities within the team
    • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver value to the business

    Desirable:

    • Scrum master experience
    • Non-profit sector knowledge/experience
    • Proficiency in a second core language of Save the Children (French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic
