    Associate Director of Sales

    Roles and Responsibilities.

    • Full P&L responsibility on the Farm Star business, and all products marketed under the Farm Star brand.
    • Offer strategic oversight and execution to grow the reseller/Agro vet sales channel for Ever grow Organic fertilizer. Scale up the sales of the leading organic fertilizer brand in Kenya by 5x in the next 18 months.
    • Lead strategy generation and execution to scale up direct sales of Evergrow Organic fertilizer and Evergrow Gold Ecocert certified organic fertilizer to middle, large, corporate farms and distribution partners in East Africa.
    • Lead the commercial growth of the Insect protein brand, Kuzapro.
    • Achieve >5x growth in sales to feed millers, agro vets, and farmers in the next 18 months.
    • Secure commercial partnerships and distribution partners to enable the exponential growth of our products.
    • Operationalize and commercialize new product variants to increase margin and expand the market.
    • Liaise with the R&D and Innovation teams to operationalize and commercialize product variants.
    • Provide oversight to the team to build data systems that lead to data/evidence-based performance management and decision-making.
    • Support the marketing teams to implement cost-effective interventions to significantly improve brand recognition across Kenya.
    • Lead the sales enablement team to build and implement standardization across the sales and marketing teams to achieve repeatable and scalable performance and results.

    Qualifications.

    • Degree or higher-level education in an Agricultural related course
    • Must have previous experience in significantly scaling up Agri-input sales.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in consultative B2B selling.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in building and managing sales teams, preferably in direct sales with a clear track record of high performance.
    • Experience in managing managers.
    • Aptitude for numbers and data-driven decision-making.
    • Knowledge of agricultural inputs market for small and medium-scale farmers preferred or ability to learn technical knowledge quickly.
    • Coachable – a desire to learn, constantly improve, and act on feedback.
    • A valid driving License.

    Whole Sale Manager

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage, plan and coordinate the wholesale officers and logistics officer for sales, distribution and route planning.
    • Manage direct reportees in line with company performance management policy and procedures.
    • Ensure we sell to end retailers and end consumers and issue detailed analysis of the performance of each route in terms of sales, gross profit and costs after every trip. Profitability reporting per truck
    • Responsible for providing a monthly and yearly sales and distribution plan and making revisions and providing updates to the plan in line with the business goals / targets.
    • Identify opportunities for growth and introduce new sales channels, establishing sales plans to achieve better overall performance and also increase sales and profits.
    • Project expected sales volumes and profit versus current performance to put in place emergency mitigation plans to still achieve the same target.
    • Regular market analysis (price, brand, market, competition) to ensure the business adapts its market dynamics in time.
    • Ensure product supply chain processes and standards are followed and conducted optimally.
    • Liaise with strategy and business development functions to establish direct market development and sales distribution pipelines in order to build the company’s footprint e.g. sign up key retailers and distributors.
    • Optimize on marketing to sales lead management. 
    • Ensure all sales cash are banked and all stocks balance as per the system stocks per wholesale officer per each return trip.
    • Monitor stock movement from suppliers to different channels including trucks and shops.
    • Evaluate and analyze types of customers who shop at the wholesale, basket value, the occasion they shop for, the brand they prefer, price consciousness, packing size preferred etc.
    • Ensure to concentrate on fast moving stock and to limit the number of slow moving SKUs to ensure the company runs on lean processes and costs. 
    • Ensure implementation of FIFO policy and minimize damages and expiries of goods. 
    • Be responsible for return management.
    • Fleet management and planning e.g. weight, routing, fuel, truck hire, staff, service providers among others
    • Drive analytics based reporting on all metrics e.g. product margins, customers numbers , route , truck profitability.
    • Customer reward programme and standard discount policy among others

    Key Qualifications:

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business marketing, sales and any business related field
    • Must have at least 3 years working experience in sales and distribution in the FMCG industry.
    • Must have lead or supervised a team
    • Business relationship skills and multi-cultural understanding
    • Business acumen and sound understanding of best performing practices in the industry
    • Very good understanding of distribution delivery platforms 
    • Knowledge of the dynamics of consumer and business sectors across different markets.
    • Able to influence sales from distributors, mini supermarkets, retailers and other customers
    • Inventory management skills
    • Cash management skills
    • Highly motivated and ability to travel and work in remote areas with rough and tough terrains

    Human Resource Officer

    Responsibilities

    • Provide clerical and administrative support in the Human Resource department.
    • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
    • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies).
    • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities: staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, etc.
    • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, legal, surveys, etc.) and take minutes.
    • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
    • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonuses, leaves, etc.)
    • Communicate with public services when necessary.
    • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.
    • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews.
    • Assist our recruiters to source candidates and coordinating the recruiting process up to the induction.
    • Participate in employee disciplinary procedure by; writing show cause letters, scheduling disciplinary hearing meetings, minutes taking, and drafting the necessary disciplinary letters as per the disciplinary process
    • Issues performance feedback letters, action plans, and any other reports from the performance appraisals as per the stipulated templates with the guidance of the HRM
    • Help formulate and amend HR policies as required for the success of the department and the company.
    • Managing travel through booking flights and accommodation, managing company fuel and tracking travel expenses
    • Tracking of employee leave and attendance
    • Manage the company brand and developing initiatives that support its brand amplification
    • Managing employee wellbeing and coming up with the initiatives that lead to its betterment

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business degree with a focus on Human Resource Management.
    • At least 4 years’ experience in a busy working environment such as in Fast Moving Consumer Goods
    • Must be well conversant with the labour laws, ethical HR practices and government regulations that concern workplaces and employment matters
    • Must be a Member of IHRM.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Flexibility – be open to change and new information.

    Procurement Assistant

    Main Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Work with the user departments to define the product requirements, liaise with the other Departments/Units on their procurement requirements, and ascertain supplies specifications as may be required.
    • Source, negotiate with suppliers and coordinate the day-to-day buying activities in a timely and cost-effective manner.
    • Receive and evaluate quotations, tenders, and proposals from suppliers and make recommendations for award to the Procurement Manager.
    • Prepare Local Purchase Orders in line with University policy and send copies to all the relevant parties after they are duly approved.
    • Prepare and submit all required reports on the buying process at the specified times
    • Maintain the filing system and keep safe custody of all the files, records, and related documents in their complete form as per policy.
    • Monitor, evaluate and advise the Procurement Manager on the performance of suppliers and service providers.

    The post holder will be required to have and to demonstrate evidence of the following qualifications, attributes, and skills:

    Sales Executive

    Key Responsibilities.

    • Take on an existing book of business and clients and ensure that their accounts are grown and maximised to their full potential through great service, cross selling and upselling.
    • Research and develop new client pipelines, including initial outreach via phone, email or in person meeting.
    • Foster strong relationships with clients from the first meeting, understand and notarise their needs, desires and requirements and ensure our service match their expectations.
    • Learn the products and offerings we provide to our customers and provide in-depth, subject matter expertise to clients about our services and solutions.
    • Input new customer information onto the company ERP and maintain that information accurately, ensuring updates are input.
    • Develop sales contracts in line with the customers’ requirements and budget and close deals.

    Qualifications and Requirements 

    • Educational background in either business, marketing or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ previous experience in a business-to-business sales role.
    • Well-rounded computer skills, with experience of working on an ERP/CRM system to upload and maintain customer information.
    • Demonstrated ability to build pipelines, prospect and research industry clientele and build a database of clients.
    • Confident to demonstrate and explain products and services offered by the company either remotely or in person.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a strong command on English.
