• The Credit Risk Analyst supports the execution of 4G Capital’s credit risk and portfolio management strategies through rigorous data analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
• Working closely with the Credit Risk Manager, the role focuses on generating insights from credit performance data, identifying emerging risks and opportunities, and supporting data-driven decisions across origination, increments, retention, and collections. The analyst plays a key role in ensuring credit strategies are evidence-based, scalable, and aligned with portfolio objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Portfolio Monitoring & Analysis
• Monitor portfolio performance across key risk metrics including default, retention, retention, and collection trends.
• Review credit portfolio dashboards and reports to track credit quality, growth, and stress indicators.
• Identify early warning signals of portfolio deterioration and flag emerging risks to the Credit Risk Manager.
• Portfolio Performance & Market Insights
• Support the Credit Risk Manager in the design, testing, and refinement of credit strategies across origination, increments, retention, and collections.
• Analyse the impact of credit policy changes, adjustments, and strategy pilots on portfolio performance.
• Prepare analysis to support credit policy reviews and product enhancements.
• Assist in monitoring the performance of new models, rule changes, or experiments during pilot phases.
• Collections & Delinquency Management
• Analyse pre-delinquency and post-delinquency behaviour to identify opportunities for improved risk mitigation and recovery.
• Provide analytical support to collections strategy by evaluating effectiveness of interventions and customer treatment paths.
• Track repayment behaviour and stress patterns to inform proactive portfolio actions.
• Work closely with Operations and Collections teams to provide sufficient analysis to support collection efforts
• Risk & Decision Science
• Query, clean, and analyse large datasets using SQL and Python to support credit risk analysis.
• Work closely with the data and decision science teams to ensure data definitions, metrics, and logic are well understood and consistently applied.
• Support the development and validation of scorecards, rules, and risk indicators.
• Document assumptions, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and repeatability of analyses.
• Stakeholder & Investor Engagement
• Prepare clear, concise analytical outputs for the Credit Risk Manager to share with senior management and other stakeholders.
• Translate analytical findings into practical insights that can be understood by non-technical teams.
• Support internal and external reporting requirements, including investor, audit, and regulatory requests, as required.

Required Skills for Credit Risk Analyst

• Must be curious to ask questions, possess the technical skills to interact and query the data, robustly analyse the data, and then effectively communicate the findings to non-credit experts around the company.
• 2-4 years of experience in credit risk analysis, portfolio analytics, or data analysis within fintech, banking, or financial services in East Africa.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with expertise in hands-on experience analysing credit or transactional data.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and reporting.
• Hands-on experience in analysing credit data, with an understanding of Kenyan and international credit regulations.

• The Senior Business Analyst will work in the Product department and will collaborate cross-functionally with a number of independent teams. The role requires understanding of the needs/goals of various stakeholders and work backwards to develop products and use metrics to measure their success. This role involves conducting company and market analysis, analyzing company product lines, market category, and customer segmentation. The job holder will also assist in the development of quality metrics and reports to assist the business segments.
• The role requires close collaboration with all parts of 4GC.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Support in maintaining the data integrity and ongoing quality control of the Reviewing and analysing products and collating it into management information in a timely fashion for strategic and operational decision making.
• Providing support in modelling of projects and financial appraisals of investments projects and new products and services to drive key investments decisions.
• Communicating technical insight from analytics and modelling to line manager and senior executives in a business-oriented and pragmatic way.
• Providing support for continuous business process reviews, risk identifications and control design as well as compliance monitoring through exception reports.
• Monitoring various business information trends and providing reports to facilitate decision making.
• Monitoring and analysing infrastructure for ongoing collection and management of qualitative customer data.
• Synthesising primary research insights with secondary and behavioural data for richer customer intelligence, insights and recommendations for experience improvements and product refinement in line with market needs.
• Developing a robust, iterative product planning and forecasting model with key KPI inputs and P&L, B/S, and cash outputs.
• Continually improving the entire product planning process and financial model in terms of accuracy and efficiency as well as relevancy of insights to the senior management team.
• Ensuring that the business has the needed accurate Product Systems as well as efficient links/accounts between Accounting/Actuals and Planning.
• Prepare strategic and financial well-written, documented, and concise power-point presentations for line and senior management, board, investors, and prospective investors, including presentations on business performance, KPI’s, business strategy, product strategic investments, recommendations, etc. as needed.
• Supporting key business decision-making and strategic initiatives through ad hoc analyses and the building meaningful product models.
• Demonstrating success by using storytelling, data visualization and communication skills to bring the voice of the customer to life across the organisation and ensure that insights enable decision making for the design towards delivering compelling customer value propositions.

Required Skills for a Senior BI Analyst

• Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred)
• MBA strongly preferred (B.A. /B.S. required).
• 5 years + of Product Management or Data Analysis role
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills and an ability to share previous excel iterative budgeting and forecast models and PowerPoint presentations
• Ability to communicate comfortably, confidently, and credibly to share your point of view and expertise.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and comfortable collaborating with various teams.
• Demonstrating understanding of product reporting and accounting.
• Proven self-starter and independent problem-solving ability with sense to understand implications of work and probe more deeply when presented with inconsistent or interesting findings.
• Proven ability to manage projects from beginning to completion with a 'can-do' attitude and a proven ability to manage and meet all deadlines.
