    Senior Accountant, REA 6

    ABOUT THE JOB 

    The mission of the Senior Accountant  job is ensuring that as a for profit company The Room and ALX operates ethically with best in class systems and is a cost effective organization.The goals of the Senior Accountant job are ensuring operational excellence for the organization and subsequent stakeholder satisfaction as well as contributing to our business strategy and our bottom line which is based on being a cost effective organization.

    The main activities of this role will be:

    • To take ownership of the day-to-day, monthly and year end operations of the Accounting/Finance department and maintain the integrity of the general ledger at all times
    • To lead the month end close process in line with group reporting deadlines
    • To perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue and intercompany matching
    • To process monthly payroll for +70 staff Assist in year end close and prepare for statutory audit in line with set deadlines and statutory requirements
    • To prepare weekly cash flow forecast to support treasury management
    • To develop and ensure compliance with group policies and regulatory requirements
    • To liaise with banks, tax authority and other relevant external parties
    • To assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc projects including investors’ reporting and budget

    Data Analyst

    JOB SKILLS, MINDSETS & BACKGROUND

    • You have 1+ years industry experience in data analysis and data presentation
    • You hold a Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Applied Mathematics, Statistics
    • You have a strong proficiency in SQL-like languages and any computer programming language
    • You have experience with either or both of Statistics and Experimental Design
    • You have experience with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Heap, MixPanel, Amplitude, etc.)
    • You have experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc.)
    • You have experience with Python, R will be a big plus
    • You have strong communication and presentation skills
