    Card Operations Officer - Dispute Management

    Job Description

    • Process card dispute related inquiries by email, mail, or telephone.
    • Provide direction and instruction for card dispute related inquiries from internal and external members and provide timely resolutions.
    • Prepare working card dispute files and ensure all required documentation is included and complete.
    • Process member adjustments within regulatory timeframes.
    • Review dispute related reports to ensure timely processing by vendors. Work directly with vendor on issues and report any delays to the team leader.
    • Investigate card dispute claims using tools and applications accessible to determine dispute options and cardholder liability.
    • Maintain thorough knowledge of scheme (mastercard, Visa, UPI, regional switches) rules and regulations, to process all phases from initial claim to arbitration or closeout within specified regulatory timeframe.
    • Review various reports from the dispute management application to verify current card case statuses.
    • Maintain a team work atmosphere to share information with the Member Services team member for disputed and compromised cards.
    • Assist with duties of team members as required during absences within the department
    • Submit Suspicious Activity referrals as applicable.
    • Log and track provisional credits and balance related GLs.
    • Prepare plastic card write-offs recommendation report for Manager approval.
    • Refer instances of card fraud related trends for Fraud Analyst to investigate.
    • Provide timely statutory and periodic reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide relevant information and assist internal control in resolving open and unreconciled transactions as per agreed ageing per product

    Card Operations Officer - Merchant Acquiring

    Job Description

    Transaction Processing:

    • Oversee the daily processing of merchant transactions and ensure accuracy.
    • Monitor transaction data for unusual activity or potential fraud.
    • Investigate and resolve transaction-related issues in a timely manner.

    Merchant Support:

    • Serve as a point of contact for merchant inquiries, issues, and escalations.
    • Provide operational guidance and support to merchants, including equipment troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to assist in onboarding new merchants.

    Risk Management:

    • Monitor merchant accounts to identify potential risks or compliance issues.
    • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of risk mitigation strategies.
    • Maintain updated records and documentation related to risk assessment.

    Reporting and Reconciliation:

    • Generate and analyze reports related to merchant transactions and settlements.
    • Conduct daily reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies and variances in merchant accounts.

    Compliance and Regulation:

    • Stay informed about payment industry regulations and ensure compliance.
    • Implement and maintain policies and procedures that align with industry standards.
    • Assist in audits and regulatory examinations related to merchant services.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.

    Card Operations Officer - Settlement & Clearing

    Job Description

    • Oversee transaction Settlement from the various card and digital schemes including Visa, Mastercard, Interaffiliate PAC, Union Pay International, Mpesa etc.
    • Ensure timely payment of all merchants in Ecobank Kenya books.
    • Conduct periodic revenue assurance with relevant business units on all card, mobile and digital products.
    • Provide timely statutory and periodic reports to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide relevant information and assist internal control in resolving open and unreconciled transactions as per agreed ageing per product.
    • Submit Suspicious Activity referrals as applicable to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Process and report multiple card compromises to Consumer and TSG functions for action and Internal Control and fraud functions for investigation and advise
