    Finance Assistant

    Position Objectives and Responsibilities

    • Auditing expense reports in SAP system ensuring sufficient information is provided, allocations are correct and amounts are controlled.
    • Follow up all cash advances to ensure they are accounted for within a week
    • Ensure all expense reports are adequately supported with source documents(attached) and originals filed.
    • Post MPESA payments on SAP ensuring relevant fields are completed for easy reporting and consequently pay via MPESA
    • Perform daily reconciliation of posted transactions verses actual payments from MPESA.
    • Receive and track all project incomes
    • Process supplier down payments and follow up documentation
    • Aid in filing statutory returns.
    • Provide support during annual audits by external auditors.

    Academic qualification

    • Diploma in Finance or Accounting

    Professional Qualifications

    • Qualification in Accounting – CPA K is an added advantage

    Other requirements (unique/job specific)

    • 2 years’ experience in the finance department
    • A working understanding of accounting principles
    • Knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations

    Marketing Officer

    Job Purpose

    To be responsible for acquiring new business through maximizing every customer contact, focusing on general mass market and covering all products needs to meet personal targets.

    Position Objectives and Responsibilities

    • Recruiting new members, maintaining and developing existing member’s accounts.
    • Maintain records on customer details sales visits and book calendars for the visits.
    • Maintain long-term relationships with members by providing support, information and guidelines and recommending new opportunities.
    • Participate in marketing events and promotions to build uptake of products. Contribute and generate revenue for the department.
    • Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule
    • Assist in co-ordination, organization and promotion of events and participate in member education.

    Academic qualification

    • Degree/Diploma in Sales and Marketing or any other related field from a recognized institution

    Assistant Accountant

    Position Objectives and Responsibilities

    • Manage the day-to-day payments of various nature including but not limited to branch reimbursements, utility bills, normal suppliers, member related payments etc
    • Pay dividends, interest rebates and honoraria as and when declared in accordance with the Law and or/ Society Policy.
    • Ensure all Society bank accounts are in agreement with bank statements, that bank charges are authenticated, correct and in time.
    • May be required to prepare monthly payroll and ensure all statutory and other relevant deductions are correctly done and returns made to the relevant authorities by their due dates and /or in accordance with the Society policy
    • Produce a monthly aged account payables report of all Society outstanding payments obligations.
    • Ensure due reconciliation of creditors’ subsidiary accounts versus the control account.
    • Ensure operation of an efficient and effective filing system that ensures safety of documents and quick retrieval thereof in compliance with the law and or the Society policy
    • Monitor the performance of the society by understanding in detail the variances between the actual vis-à-vis the budgeted level of Society activities.
    • Advice the Financial Accountant on matters of importance that affect the Finance Department and / or the whole Society.
    • Supervise and obtain relevant reports from the officers under him/her; and undertake their performance appraisal as and when required.
    • Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.

    Academic qualification

    • Bachelor’s Degree in any business-related field.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Minimum CPA Part II

    Other requirements (unique/job specific)

    • 2 Years experience in a relevant field.
    • Experience in a busy accounting office especially in reconciliation will be an added advantage.

    Microcredit Officer

    Position Objectives and Responsibilities

    • Analysing and evaluating the demand, market segmentation and competitive situation for the target clients of micro credit products to identify opportunity in the market for new products.
    • Develop and Micro Credit implement objectives, action plans, budgets and initiatives as assigned.
    • Working with relevant Sacco departments on developing and updating microcredit products concepts and its prototypes, including product policies, operational procedures, methodology guides and other supporting documents in order to meet business targets.
    • Monitor and manage the microcredit portfolio.
    • Identify, monitor and develop risk mitigation strategies for the risks associated with the micro-credit portfolios.
    • Follow up the roll-out into the target market of new designed or improved loan products.
    • Oversee the development and follow up the implementation of Micro Credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure quality management of micro credit portfolio.
    • Support income generation for the Sacco and help to build financially self-sufficient low-income borrowers/ clients.
    • Manage funds adequately to meet future cash needs in consultation with Finance Department.
    • Identify and establish appropriate Partnerships for Micro credit objectives including funding.
    • Provide consistent guidelines for the effective management of the accounts processing and credit administration functions established at each county/field/unit offices.
    • Perform related work as assigned.

    Academic qualification

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Micro Finance or its equivalent from a recognized university and/or a diploma in Banking/Credit or its equivalent.

    Professional Qualifications

    • A holder of a Qualification in Credit Management Professional.

    Other requirements (unique/job specific)

    • 5 Years experience in a relevant field.
    • Hands on and proven experience in Micro credit operations in microfinance / banking / Sacco environment.
