Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
- Operating the water drilling machine
- Fill up daily drilling report for activities performed during his/her shift describing the work carried out and the equipment utilized Keeping monthly records of services of the machine
- Preparing monthly and weekly service schedules and ensuring they are followed
- Checking, setting up and dismounting the equipment necessary for the assigned shift i.e., drill pipes and other tubular materials etc. including guiding assigned turn boys and other machine attendants
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to in all his/her work and use compulsory protective equipment
- Issue safe job analysis before start -up of non-routine operation or job and ensure
- completion of risk assessment where required in liaison and as shall also be directed by the supervisor
- Instruct all personnel assigned to him for assistance of their duties and responsibilities and of any special safety precaution to be taken prior to startup of any work
- Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained on the drill floor
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks for equipment as prescribed by the operations manual, including repairing minor defects on machine
- Liaising with the officer -in-charge for major repairs
- Supervising cleanliness of the machine and
- Any other duty as may be assigned
Requirements for appointment:
- Must be a Kenyan Citizen
- Be in possession of a certificate in plant operator /or at least a certificate from a recognized institution, Kenya Water Institute (drilling option), PRD rigs Kenya or any other approved equivalent qualifications;
- Be able to do both mud and air drilling.
- Be able to interpret hydrogeological survey
- Be able to do borehole design after drilling
- Ba able to do trouble shooting basic and maintenance
- Ability to guide and control drilling team on site.
- At least five (5) years relevant experience in a busy water drilling and installation work shop and working with drilling machines;
- Must be in possession of a valid driving license.
- Passed the Departmental Occupational Test III.
- Minimum ‘Secondary’ level education.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high sense of personal initiative, keen & fast learner, good communicator, a good team player

Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
- Assisting the assistant rig operator at the table
- Clearing the cuttings during drilling.
- Making way for underground water from going back the hole
- Loading and offloading of drill pipes during drilling and demobilization of the machine.
- Greasing some parts of the machine, drill pipes, cleaning the machine, tightening wire ramp
Requirements for appointment:
- The candidate must be in possession of a craft certificate and or Grade I in pipefitting.
- At least Two (2) years relevant experience in a busy water drilling and installation work shop and working with drilling machines;
- Ability to work under minimum supervision with a high sense of personal initiative, keen & fast learner, good communicator, a good team player.
