    Assistant Director - Gender & Social Development

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    For appointment to the grade, a candidate must have:

    • served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Principal Gender Officer, Job Group ‘N’ or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
    • a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Gender Studies, Gender and Development, Sociology, Business Administration (Finance/ Entrepreneurship Option), Anthropology, Counseling and Psychology, Economics, Law or any other relevant Social Science from a university recognized in Kenya;

    Coordinator /Advisor, Devolution Sector Working Group

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    Remuneration: Ksh.400,000 p.m - Two (2) years Contract For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    (iv) identifying environmentally fragile areas in settlement schemes and adjudication sections and recommending their conservation;

    Qualifications and Requirements:
    For appointment to the grade, a candidate must have:

    (i)served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Senior Gender Officer, Job Group ‘L’ or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;

    (ii)a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Gender Studies, Gender and Development, Sociology, Business Administration (Finance/Entrepreneurship Option), Anthropology, Counseling and Psychology, Economics, Law or any other relevant Social Science from a university recognized in Kenya;

    (iii)attended Senior Management Course in a recognized institution;

    (iv)membership to a relevant professional body (where applicable); and

    (v)demonstrated professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.

    Note: Possession of a certificate in Gender Studies, Gender and Development or any other relevant course lasting not less than or in aggregate of at least one (1) month from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.


    Responsibilities:      
    Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include:

    (i)implementing gender, socio economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence projects and programmes;

    (ii)collecting, compiling and analyzing gender disaggregated data on Ministries/ Departments, Counties and Agencies;

    (iii)following up Gender Based Violence cases for conclusive resolution;

    (iv)analyzing Ministries/Departments, Counties and State Agencies reports on appointments, nominations and promotions to establish the level of compliance with the two - third gender principle;

    (v)developing data banks for gender programmes and information on gender mainstreaming and socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence policies, programmes and projects;

    (vi)monitoring the prevalence of Female Genital Mutilation and Gender Based Violence in the area of jurisdiction and identifying programmes to address them; and

    (vii)sensitizing stakeholders on gender related issues including Female Genital Mutilation(FGM) and Gender Based Violence (GBV)

    Senior Gender & Social Development Officer

    (ii)implementing gender mainstreaming and socio-economic empowerment, Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender Based Violence programmes and projects;

    (iii)collecting, collating and analyzing data on Female Genital Mutilation and Sexual and Gender disaggregated data on Ministries/State Departments, Counties and Agencies;

    (iv)identifying opportunities and documenting practices for upscaling and replication of gender programmes; and

    (v)following up with gender violence victims for the expediency of justice.
